The days again became monotonous.
Until one day a storm came.
First of many to come.
Su Fei looked at her father. "Dad, let's go own more time to city. I want to buy some common medicine we might needing winter time. We are from south and the winter will be long and cold. I didn't want to end up without one healing plant. Su family is strange. They have so many households but not one physician nearby. How strange."
Su Quan stilled. Indeed. Except married people that came to this village, no strangers were given permission to reside inside.
Even he had to wait for long time until he didn't get permission to come back.
Thinking of these two girls that probably will get cold he agreed and paid for the ride to the town.
Cuo town was strangely quiet. Maybe just because winter was around corner or maybe it was wrong time of day.
The two girls went first to silk store that of course was belonging to Su clan and got amazing price.
"These embroideries are excellent. This can be sold to nobles, no even royals might like it a lot. Good. I'll give you hundred silver taels..."
Su Fei sighed and packed carefully her work, stunning the woman. "Wait, why are you packinh it?"
Su Fei sighed. "Cuo town is larger ten Tianlu town near our old village. My work there was paid there even for handcrechoed over there hundred silver taels. This piece of double side embroidery is big enough to have large frame. Don't tell me you think I'm foolish enough to sell it for hundred fifty taels?"
The woman got angry. "Then don't sell it."
Su Fei politely bowed and left with silent father and sister.
Outside he wanted to say something but she shook her head and walked straight towards tea house.
They sat down and she just quietly pointed at the store that suddenly closed doors.
A young man rushed out and she whispered. "This is Su store. Elders wife already saw my work and told me to come to store and we will get one gold peanut. Gold, father. That's thousand silver teals. The work I did was worth three years of my every day work. Not one or two weeks. With the money I can literally live for the rest of my life without worrying about food or drinks. With Yue and even adding the greedy cat Mei."
He gulped.
Even dozens of silver taels were carefully saved, but his daughter literally earned enough even to support her brothers for years.
His eyes filled with tears and he chocked.
His daughter is amazing. She even took care of this.
Actually, Su Fei was talking nonsense. She never showed her embroidery to anyone. The hundred fifty taels was already amazing price even for her.
She just exaggerated as she noticed different person in the store. Last time it was another woman and she was definitely not this one.
Something was off, but she had no idea what. So she made fuss to see what would happen.
Just as they spoke a beautiful ancient carriage stopped in front of the store and a young lady came out. She was confused that the store was closed.
Su Fei calmly patted her father's hand. "Wait here."
He just nodded and saw her going directly at the young lady that was obviously noble.
"This commoner girl greet her royal princess."
It was obvious this girl was princess so she could literally directly speak to her
Princess looked at cute young woman in simple but elegant clothes and smiled. "This young lady, what is going on?"
She motioned at the store.
The owner had urgent problem at home and had to close store. Soon she will come back. I actually came as well to sell something."
Princess was anyway bored and hated waiting so she asked her. "My I see it?"
Su Fei calmly took a box from her bundle she was wearing in hands and inside was a beautiful fabric with double sided embroidery.
On one side was scenery of garden with beautiful flowers and even playful cat trying to catch a butterfly.
On other side was beautiful scenery with high mountains, a sea that had waves, a solitary blooming tree and birds in one of thin branches.
It was beautiful no matter what side you look at.
The princes even saw water droplets on the side with the playful cat while the other side more small details she wanted to see closer.
But Su Fei slowly packed the embroidery back into the box and smiled. "What do you think, your royal highness. Once someone offered me just three hundred taels for this. I world almost five years to finish the details. Am I too greedy not wanting more?"
"How ridiculous. Such embroidery can be even presented to the Emperor. Three hundred taels is ridiculous. Listen, I don't have much money with me. Come with me to my house. I will ask my father to pay you."
Su Fei shook her head. "With all the respect I can't do it without permission of my father. He is nearby restaurant and waiting for medicine. May I just go and ask for permission, please?"
"Of course, we will wait here." The princess chose to go back to her carriage and while Su Fei quickly explained everything to Su Quan, she already turned the carriage and waited.
Su Quan of course let her and came outside to greet the princes with Su Yue.
"Greeting the princess." He bowed deeply.
"Rise. Your daughter will come right back. You go buy the medicine you need." She really had notany friends and wanted to meet this straightforward girl.
Just then she saw a girl looking like her copy staring at her sister and chuckled. "Let your younger daughter come as well. It's good to experience a bit outside world."
Su Fei almost started to laugh. This is more experience the inner world of ancient royal backyard, but it's indeed an honor.
Su Yue quickly held her sister and they went inside actually exquisite small room.
But seeing just wooden boards to be sat on she sighed. "Princess, I know I'm nosy, but would you give me the honor to gift you something that you can use when traveling?"
