Chapter 13 - 13. At the mansion

The princess (that I don't know mame of yet), just looked at her in wonder. "Oh?"

Su Fei knew that it will take quick time to get to the mansion so she quickly explained.

"When we were traveling from Tianlu town to get the worst thing was that we had to sit on hard board for weeks. My bones felt like someone beat me up even if we really had no troubles traveling. Your royal highness has soft body and if you plan traveling a bit further from home I recommend making a soft pillow you can sit on."

Just then princess thought of their travel to nearby monastery and indeed it was quite uncomfortable as she could feel every single bump on the road.

"Can you make it before next storm? Father plans to go back to royal capital as he was called back by the Emperor."

That means it's urgent.

Su Fei thought of it. "I can make it. I just need few days. Please give me minimum three days."

The princess thought of it and then smiled. "We are leaving in ten days, can you make more than one?"

Su Fei thought of few neighbors that had good sewing skills and nodded. "I can ask my Su clan to help me. Just let me know how many "

"Oh , you are Su clan girl? How amazing. No wonder you have such good skills. Good. Make as many as possible. We have many people in family. We will pay well."

The two chatted while Su Yue curiously looked outside at the surroundings.

Outside the small stores and commoners suddenly we're not walking and it changed into streets filled with high walls and barely any people walking.

Actually, even if she felt safe inside Su clan walls, this was different feel. It felt like trap.

In her house the walls were high and she felt comfortable and safe but here a strange feeling made her just let go of the small side curtain and just hold onto her sisters dress as she felt high discomfort.

Su Fei knew that Su Yue was probably partially autistic. Not completely, but definitely not simple shyness.

She hated talking to people she didn't know and even the two of them had to speak to her for hours to kale her speak few words.

She just softly patted her hand, giving her sense of security, and Su Yue held it quickly.

Su Fei let her he and continued to chat with the princess until a minute later the carriage didn't stop.

"Princess,we are back home." The servant spoke outside and the two girls first went outside and waited until princess didn't come down and followed her trough the main entrance of the manor.

On side of the mansion there was written plainly *Wei Mansion*.

Wei. Prince Wei? Oh, heck. The one of direct descendants of Emperor. Sigh.

Su Fei whispered to Su Yue when they were waiting for the princess to come down. "Don't look around. Just look straight, bow when I bow , sit when you are asked to sit. We must not loose face of our Su clan. Today weust repair some of the image that little cat left on people in this city."

Su Yue curled her lips as she imagined MeiMei with cat ears and almost chuckled but luckily corrected herself fast and followed her sister silently.

Indeed, the two girls entered chatting and went straight to the main hall where Su Fei and Su Yue kowtowed three times to group of people sitting there.

"You little girl found friends as I see. You two rise." An older male voice spoke softly.

Even if royals maybe have superiority, most stories she knew from real royal families was that they loved face.

They would never disrespect visitors or rudely speak to them.

"This commoner thanks." Su Fei stood up and politely stood there, not looking around then looked at ground.

"Rise your head and let me see." Another soft voice spoke.

Su Fei slowly rose her head and glanced at the two older people in intricate silk clothes sitting in middle of the room while there were other chairs for other elders.

"Grandma, grandpa, these are the two girls from Su clan. They brought embroidery."

"I head you two came from third branch of the Su clan. I met once the girl of the Su clan and honestly I was disappointed about Su clan education." The older woman spoke honestly.

"I'm sorry. Our MeiMei was sick when she was young. After that everyone got scared so they overdid it with the care. But she is changing for better and learning many things. Please give her another chance. Even if she is a bit spoiled, she is not a bad person. I promise." Su Fei quickly spoke and rose her hand up as promise.

"Hmmm, spoiled a bit?" The older woman spoke and glanced at now blushing girl.

Su MeiMei was not just spoiled. She was spoiled rotten and from today she will be dragged back to clan and taught a lesson.

"Your royal highness, our Su clan has not many daughters. So they really treated her well. As girl being a bit spoiled is not bad sighn. That means that family is treating you well. Our MeiMei has now us two and we will guide her well in future. Please give her another chance."

"Fine, fine. I understand. Indeed, spoiling girls is common everywhere. Hahaha. We have five brats as well." She pointed at the five girls that gathered together and chuckled.

"Spoiling is not wrong. Our Su clan knows how to teach children, they just have preference for their daughters. Please forgive us for being a bit on spoiled side." Su Fei flashed big smile at the elder woman and made her laugh loudly behind her handkerchief.

"Ahahaha, bo wonder our Mingzhu liked you. Let me see the embroidery. " She waved at nearby servants that slowly took the box from Su Fei's hands.

She stepped back and became silent again.

The few people sitting saw that she was a bit cheeky but actually knew rules and then looked at soft fabric in amazement.

Few even stood up and came from other side and gasped. "It's double sided with different scenery."

The servants turned around and showed completely different picture on other side.

The voices started overlapping and the old woman clapped her hands. "Good, very good. We have it! Empress Dowager has birthday and we are invited. We can make a screen and gift it to get. I think she will like it."

Everyone had ideas about the screen and forgot about the two girls while princess Mingzhu winked at the two and dragged her sisters and cousins to them.
