"Ren, what are you doing! Are you even listening to me!"
Betty rushed over excitedly with the ray gun she'd just finished assembling, only to find that Ren was totally spaced out and hadn't heard a word she'd said. She was pretty ticked off.
"Huh? No wait! Doll, whatever it is can wait! They're coming! More are coming!"
"What's coming?!" Betty frowned hard.
She honestly couldn't figure out what could get Ren this worked up.
He was even ignoring the fact that the ray gun was finished.
Wasn't he super eager to get this thing made as soon as possible?
"Fanatics! Haha, I still don't know what happened, but just in this short time, I've gained over a dozen fanatics, and the numbers keep climbing. People keep praying..."
The joy on Ren's face seemed impossible to contain: "Though I'm not sure why, these fanatics aren't all supernatural beings—there are tons of regular people too."
"Fanatics? Over a dozen?! Including regular people?!"
Betty was totally confused, struggling to process this.
"Yeah, I need to go see what happened. We'll deal with the ray gun later!" Ren said as he started thinking about using the faith channel to check out what was going down.
But right then, the book's voice chimed in: "Lord Ren, you don't need to go to the mortal realm to see what happened. Just check Magic Space—your century has exploded, the whole Magic Space is talking about it. You've appeared before the magicians for the first time as an independent deity..."
The entire Magic Space was talking about him?
Ren quickly picked out the key points from the book's endless chatter, but he was even more curious about what had happened to get so many magicians talking and bring in so many fanatics...
Betty was curious too.
Actually, even more curious than Ren.
She'd already pulled out her Magic Net Ring and started browsing.
"This is absolutely insane!"
"50,000 flame vortexes—I can't even imagine what that scene looked like!"
"I always thought magic bombs were good for staying alive, but now I realize they're perfect for major battlefields!"
"Those damn cultists actually released the ice spirits, thank God for the magic bombs created by the God of Technology!"
"I heard the magic bomb method is published in the Magic Encyclopedia. I'm gonna go learn it right now and make a bunch for protection!"
"It's so clever—even though they take a while to make, the instant activation gives us mid and low-tier magicians endless opportunities to save our lives!"
As soon as they opened Magic Space, they were hit with this wave of praise.
After spending quite a bit of time searching, Ren and Betty finally figured out what happened: "Who would've thought so much was going down in the mortal realm!"
"Your fanatics probably all came from that battle, blown away by the explosion of 50,000 magic bombs." Betty nodded in agreement: "Why don't you give me your permissions so the book and I can watch TV too..."
Even though she still didn't get why Ren called that thing TV, she thought it was a pretty cool name and picked it up.
"Huh? Didn't you say that since I'm not an official deity yet, I can't give permissions to anyone else and have to experience it myself?" Ren looked at Betty suspiciously: "I get it! You're just being lazy and don't want to help me, so you said that!"
"I did not!" Betty looked kind of pouty, but her words didn't have much convincing power.
Just worried this guy might get so mad his head would fall off again, Ren finally agreed to give her the permissions. Of course, as payment, Betty would need to help Ren manage things in the future, just like she helped the Goddess of Magic manage observing believers and their prayers.
"Whoa—forget about the people who were actually on the battlefield, even I would probably want to convert to your faith after seeing a scene like that."
After watching the scene of countless magic bombs exploding, even Betty couldn't help but be amazed, not to mention the book's reaction.
"Haha, yeah, I never imagined that using magic bombs on a battlefield would create a scene like this." Ren couldn't help but laugh, getting totally excited: "This is pure art! The art of war!"
"But I really didn't expect that in the short time I was away from the mortal realm, monsters like ice spirits would break out from the north. Book, that bogus post you made up a while back will probably get dug up by people."
He remembered when Magic Space was first created, Ren had the book make up some posts to prove people were using it. The book had made up something about ice spirit activity in the north, and now it had actually come true!
"Should I delete that post? Otherwise it'll look like my alt account belongs to a cultist who knew in advance they'd release the ice spirits. But forget it—Magic Space is better when more people are discussing stuff. Worst case, I just won't use that alt account anymore..."
"Doll, let's talk about the ray gun!"
Ren gave the book a long look, then turned his attention to Betty: "You saw that battlefield too. The biggest problem with magic bombs is still accuracy. Our ray gun should be able to fix that issue."
Just in this short time, his faith power had jumped by a huge amount, with fanatic numbers breaking past 20. This got him so excited he was practically high, and he was already thinking about whether he should hurry up and launch the ray gun to send some benefits to his followers!
Talking about the ray gun, Betty instantly snapped back to attention. She proudly placed two differently-shaped 'ray guns' in front of Ren: "I made a 'gun' based on your idea, but I felt like it wasn't super convenient to operate, so I referenced the wrist crossbows that stealth specialists in the mortal world use and developed one that can be mounted on your wrist. Take a look at both!"
One looked very similar to the handguns from his previous life, but much thicker and heavier, giving it a somewhat sci-fi feel.
The other one, as Betty had mentioned, was indeed like a wrist crossbow, but maybe because it involved so many runes or other reasons, while it was called a wrist crossbow, it looked more like armor plating—thick and wide. If worn on the wrist, it would definitely stick out like crazy.
The book seemed like it was about to complain about something, but when it saw these two 'ray guns,' all its attention immediately focused on them.
It figured these would be great topics for future Magic Space discussions!
Ren casually picked up the first one, immediately feeling its weight—at least three pounds, just as heavy as it looked.
But it wasn't unmanageable.
"How do I fire it?" Ren asked: "Inject magic power?"
