"A-alright, I really need to go now." Lando was the first to break the silence. He tried to roll his wheelchair back, but it didn't budge. For a second, his calm expression cracked with confusion.
"Oh—oh, let me help you." I jumped to my feet and hurried to his side, placing my hands on the back of his chair. But no matter how hard I pushed, the wheels didn't move an inch.
"Why isn't it working?" I muttered, leaning down to check.
Before I could figure it out, Henry—who had been quietly standing a short distance away the whole time—stepped forward. "Young Master, the brake is still on."
"Oh …." My face flushed with embarrassment, and so did Lando's.
Henry crouched down, easily unlocking the brake. "There you go."
Lando gave a short nod. "Thank you."
The moment felt strangely awkward. I stepped back quickly, wringing my hands together, not sure where to look.
"Then … I will go now," Lando said without looking back at me.
"Mhm." I nodded quickly. "Be careful."
