Chapter 114 - Eddie Inquires! General Ross’s Clear Target!

The armed squad from Hammer Industries fled in panic back to the company's suburban factory.

This was their main stronghold.

Even after confirming they were safe, none of them lowered their guard. Their faces were still pale, the fear lingering.

Even when Justin Hammer rushed in moments later to question them, just recalling what had happened not long ago made their hearts tremble.

"Green Arrow?"

Hammer's brows tightened.

Hearing that name irritated him—his face filled with displeasure and anger.

Where did this random roadblock even come from?

He ordered his assistant in a deep voice, "Find out who this Green Arrow actually is."

Before long, the assistant returned, looking strangely hesitant.

"Based on their description, I found someone… not sure if it's accurate. Green Arrow—he's from DC Comics. The protagonist of one of their new novels and comics. The novel and the comic have the same name: Green Arrow…"

Hearing this explanation, not only Hammer but also all the armed men froze like statues.

A novel protagonist?A comic-book hero?

The armed squad stood stunned.

So what he meant was… they were defeated by a character from a novel? A comic character?

"Wait… DC Comics… that's Anton Jameson's company, right? The one closely tied to Batman?"

Hammer's expression shifted as something occurred to him, his face turning extremely ugly.

"Yes," the assistant confirmed. "That's the same DC Comics."

"So that means the one who humiliated us wasn't that suddenly-appearing fictional character. The real problem is Batman!"

Hammer's expression darkened, fury glinting in his eyes.

Even though the one who defeated his armed force was Green Arrow, it was obvious Green Arrow acted on Batman's orders and had appeared at the Osborn estate because of him.

He also recalled a small piece of information he'd collected about Harry earlier.

He had invested in three DC films!

Clearly, that was when Harry and Batman connected.

"Hmph!"

"Another cosplay clown! That Batman—he's going to pay sooner or later!"

The more Hammer thought about it, the angrier he became. He glared at his beaten-down subordinates and flicked his hand sharply.

"A bunch of useless trash!"

With that, he turned and walked away.

Those he abandoned, left behind in the factory, hung their heads in dejection—they knew they were done for.

They'd kicked a reinforced steel plate.

They thought they were going to crush a weakling like Osborn… but instead, a Batman affiliate jumped out halfway.

"Batman… Green Arrow…"

They looked at each other, their faces filled with bitter regret.

Meanwhile—

General Ross had also received intel that Hammer Industries had been forced to retreat.

"Green Arrow?"

He glanced over the report in his hand, his expression faintly strange.

A fictional character.Another clown pretending to be something he's not.Just like Batman.

Ross's face carried open disdain.

Of all names, why choose one with "Green"? He hated anything green more than anything else.

"General, should we conduct a detailed investigation into this Green Arrow?"one of his men asked.

"No need."

"There will naturally be others who do that. Our mission is singular. Don't waste energy repeating other people's work—it's not worth the cost."

Ross waved dismissively and tossed the report aside, his gaze fixing on the world map in front of him.

On the map, a particular Brazilian slum was marked in red.

"I'll say this once more—our target is not this Green Arrow. Hammer Industries' failure is irrelevant. What matters is that our next operation must not fail like theirs."

Ross's voice was firm and decisive.

"Gather the men. We move out for Brazil immediately. We must capture that monster."

"Understood!"

His subordinate nodded vigorously. "We've already assembled an elite unit, under the command of Colonel Emil Blonsky… General, this time we're guaranteed to succeed!"

"Emil Blonsky?"

Ross raised a brow. He had clearly heard of this well-known military veteran.

The man had conducted espionage missions in his early years and had performed outstandingly in battle. If not for his extremely violent personality, he would already be far more than a powerless colonel.

Look at Colonel Rhodes—simply because he was Tony Stark's friend, even minor generals didn't dare mess with him. Younger than Blonsky, yet already commander of an Air Force base and with a bright future ahead.

"Tell him to be ready. If he manages to capture Bruce Banner, I can push him to a higher position."

Ross said calmly.

"Don't worry, General. He'll do everything in his power."

The subordinate laughed flatteringly. "With your promise, he definitely won't let Bruce Banner slip through our fingers."

The next day.

Eddie personally came to DC Comics to find Anton.

He wore a strange expression as he looked at Anton, clearly wanting to ask something but unsure how.

"What is it?"

Anton asked, curious.

Eddie rarely looked this conflicted.

"Anton, you know my intel network is very wide."

Eddie hesitated, then finally said, "This morning, I heard something… Last night, the Osborn estate was attacked. But all the attackers died. And rumor has it, a man called 'Green Arrow' helped Osborn survive the ordeal."

"Green Arrow?"

Anton didn't confirm nor deny it—he just smiled faintly. "What exactly do you want to ask?"

"Was this your doing?"

Eddie asked immediately.

"That's right. I sent Green Arrow."

Anton didn't hide it. "You know Harry is a friend of DC Comics. And if the Osborn Corporation stays in a friend's hands, that benefits us."

"Then who is Green Arrow?"

Eddie stared in disbelief. "Don't tell me you disguised yourself again?"

"In a little while, you'll meet him."

Anton smiled mysteriously, dodging the real question.

Then he thought of Phil, who was currently undercover, and asked, "How's Phil doing lately?"

"Dr. Stockman is indeed a genius. He made a locator device—using special wavelengths, it locked onto the remnants of the other two mind-transfer units. They already found the one at the New York Museum. Now their target is Brazil!"

Eddie laughed. "Everything's going smoothly. Phil is enjoying himself, and Stockman is letting him run circles around him."

"They never thought of using the device fragments to rescue Shredder first?" Anton asked.

"Stockman is afraid the unstable mind-transfer tech might teleport Shredder to some random place—even outer space… in which case, Shredder would be dead."

Eddie explained, "Since they have a safer method, Shredder now has the patience to stay in prison."
