Amidst Screams and Bloodshed
Amidst soaring screams and bloodshed, the Commander of the Demon Battalion smiled. Then, he felt another tremor. "So, you are still alive, Lord of Ice! But do not blame me. Blame the one who created these beasts when he gave them power from his own and his brother's. True, after he finishes you, he will head towards us because we will be the ones remaining. But it will be too late. You cannot save your squad, nor the village, nor even yourself. Funny. The strongest cannot do anything. Now, do your best."
Back to the Lord of Ice
Returning to the Lord of Ice: As he was gripped by the Beast of the Covenant, the Lord of Ice was dragged downwards, unable to resist, until he reached the bottom. He couldn't breathe, so he used a device that had helped him breathe underwater in the past. When he looked, he saw a monstrously sized beast with eight arms and a pliable body, preparing to attack him.
The beast used one of its tentacles to strike the Lord of Ice, but the Lord of Ice surrounded himself with ice, which reduced the damage. He didn't take a second to catch his breath before another tentacle struck him, pulling him further down, and the other tentacles followed suit.
In the final attack, the Lord of Ice gripped his sword and unleashed the "Zero Ice Strike." A storm erupted in the water, causing the creature to freeze bit by bit until it was completely frozen. The Lord of Ice then launched another attack, the "Thin Ice Strike." Some thin ice, capable of cutting the toughest things, formed on the Lord of Ice's sword.
However, the beast's freeze lasted only for seconds. It attacked again with its tentacle, but that tentacle was cut off. Within seconds, the tentacle regenerated.
"So, you can regenerate this quickly!"
In Volak's Area
On the other side, the people in Volak's area were terrified, and the demons were slaughtering them. One demon grabbed an elderly man and killed him. A child watched, and the little boy's tears flowed, and he screamed because this man was his grandfather. The child attacked the demon.
The demon tossed the old man's body and kicked the child. "You foolish child! You haven't awakened your power, and you want to defeat me?"
The child shouted, "I don't want to defeat you! I want to rip your head off and place it in front of my grandfather's corpse!"
"You say 'rip my head off'?" the demon said arrogantly, as if no one was stronger than him. "Don't rave, child!"
In that exact moment, the demon's head was severed.
The Return of Volak and the Power
"Don't mock the dreams of the young, for they might become reality, O Eye."
The child looked at the one who killed the demon with great astonishment. "You? How? You died, Volak!"
"How do you know me, little one?"
"Of course! You used to come on patrols to ensure there were no demon attacks, so I knew you."
"I see. Well, why don't you go take your grandfather to a safe place?"
"You mean my grandfather? He... alas..." The child's tears flowed.
"Don't cry, Ryan, I didn't die."
When the child heard the voice, he was surprised and looked at his grandfather to find him alive. The child's tears stopped in amazement, disbelieving. He stood up and slowly moved towards his grandfather, touching him, still in disbelief. "Grandfather! Is that you? How? I saw the demon..."
The grandfather hugged him. "Don't worry, I'm fine, somehow."
At the same moment, a strange magic caused everyone who had died to return to life, much to the astonishment of the demons.
The Turning Tide
What increased their astonishment was that the demons' regeneration was not working! "What? Regeneration is not working? How is this possible? Could it be that after they awoke, they became stronger? Unbelievable! How?"
"Don't joke with me! How is this possible?"
A demon lunged toward a warrior and cut off his arms, but a strange power appeared, restoring both his arms. Before the demon could be stunned, he found his head severed.
The events continued. At Julian's location, the demons kept killing people, and the village tried to defend itself, but to no avail. Amidst the despair, the strange power arrived and spread throughout the entire village, bringing all the village's soldiers back to life. They charged at the demons.
Julian woke up, unaware of what had happened, but he felt his power had increased manifold. He created a huge pool of blood that formed into the shape of eagles and attacked the demons, wiping them out amidst the demons' terror.
At Harold's location, the power gathered and repaired all his burnt organs. He stood up and struck his fist into the ground, and fire erupted everywhere, consuming the demons.
As for Iris, she returned to life, grabbed a scythe, and began to slaughter the demons.
And at Rose's location, the villagers were returning to life and attacking the demons, amidst the commander's astonishment and bewilderment. "How is this happening? Those humans were dead! How are they coming back to life? How?"
He felt a power emanating from a nearby hut. It was the same power that was reviving the humans.
The Healer's Sacrifice
"I understand now! There is a Healer with great power hiding in the hut, and he is ruining all my plans!"
The demon rushed to the hut. "So, it was you who ruined them! I will make sure you pay the price well! Do you know how long I've been planning this? Do you know what I did?" He extended his hand to destroy the door and eliminate the Healer.
"The game is over now," the Spirit said, and it cut the demon's body in half.
The Spirit cut the demon and entered, finding a girl holding stones with shattered hands and a body taking its last breaths, with fractured bones.
"OH girl, you fought well, but it is time for you to rest. You have completed your mission."
The Spirit grabbed the sword and prepared to cut off the energy.
"No, stop!" the girl screamed. "I have not finished my work yet! There are still demons and people fighting, and injured children! I still have to heal them!"
The Spirit took the girl's hand. "Are you saying this with shattered hands and large scars on them like this? Enough! You have done your duty! You will lose your life. Are you not afraid of death?"
The girl clenched her hand amidst her pain, increasing her absorption of the energy, and doubled the village's power, much to the Spirit's astonishment.
"I am afraid, for we remember death here. But if I fear, the children and everyone in the villages will perish. The demons are indeed being eliminated, but not all of them. So, any injury to a child, a mother, an infant, an elderly person—anyone—I must treat it. This is my duty, even if it means I have to die."
The Spirit grabbed the sword. "Then, I am sorry for what I will do."
