The bracelet in Leah's hand dropped, and as she was about to pick it up from the ground, the noise created alerted the students in the classroom.
The door opened, and the first one to step out was Julie.
Leah lifted her head, her eyes locking with Julie's.
"You heard it all," Julie blankly commented.
Leah shifted her gaze, refusing to look at her. But her eyes reddened, tears welling up in them expressing her sentiments.
"About time," Julie stated, "I was getting bored of the game to begin with."
Leah stood up straight and stared at Julie in disbelief.
"Why?"
She never wished to harm or disturb anyone. Her days in the school were spent quietly. She attended the classes, going home by herself once that was over.
However, why wouldn't anyone leave her alone?
A twinkle appeared in Julie's eyes. "Because it was funny. It's not often we see a fool like you. No, how could you believe I wanted to be friends with you? Did you look at yourself?"
Leah lowered her line of sight, holding back the temper in her chest. It would only put her at a disadvantageous position if she argued with them.
She was about to leave when the bracelet was snatched off of her hand.
Julie laughed. "What? Was this meant for me? Did you think I was going to accept it?"
Leah blinked her eyes and softly responded, "I meant to throw it in the trash."
"What?"
Leah's eyes then fell on Arianna. Sitting inside the classroom, her haughty eyes looked down at Leah, holding contempt in them.
Brought back to the present time, Leah moved past Arianna and made her way over to the saleswoman. She pointed towards the suit and said, "Can I get that?"
Before the saleswoman could respond, Julie's voice came, "Don't tell me you're about to purchase that? Do you even have the money for it?"
Then, to the saleswoman, she added, "Do you let anyone enter her store? Can't you see she reeks of poverty? Are you going to let her destroy the atmosphere for rest of us?"
Leah stared at her in boredom and voiced out, "I wouldn't be making the purchase if I didn't have the money."
Her heels clicked against the tiles as Julie made her way over to Leah. Her eyes narrowed with a malicious intent in them.
"I haven't seen you for a couple days, and you managed to grow a mouth, right? It seems that I need to teach you properly again," Julie vocalized, raising her hand to pat on Leah's cheek.
There were two paths in front of Leah to choose now. Either she could stay here to fight with Julie or step out of the store, making the purchase later.
Looking at all the eyes on the store on them, coupled with how the saleswoman felt uncomfortable, Leah decided to be the greater woman and leave the store.
She knew how unreasonable Julie could be, and her social anxiety didn't allow her to create a scene outside.
Therefore, Leah decided to be the bigger person and step out when Julie felt offended by her attitude, grabbing her shoulder to stop her.
"What? Are you running away now from embarrassment?" Julie scorned.
Leah calmly voiced out, "Julie, everyone is watching. There is no use in creating a scene here. I am sure you came here to shop. You can do that in peace with me gone."
Leah believed her words were put out in a polite manner, but they only seemed to have infuriated Julie. She pushed her back, causing Leah to stumble.
"Look at you being as arrogant as always. What makes you think you have the capital to do that?"
Leah had a headache forming.
When did she act arrogantly?
Julie then snickered. "Heard you got married to that perverted madman, Leo Zhen, was it? Don't tell me the suit was for him? No wonder you're a fucking fool.
You are probably getting tortured by him day and night, yet you decide to please him. I forgot how good of a dog you can be.
For a little affection, you go around, wagging your tail. What about this? Come back to me. At least I will treat you better than that madman."
Leah's gaze shifted over to Arianna. Pretending to be a disinterested bystander, she skimmed through the clothes in the hanger. But Leah knew she was thoroughly assessing Julie's performance.
The frown on Leah's face deepened, and she didn't wish to listen to Julie's words further.
"Stop it," Leah stated.
"Or what?" Julie challenged, leaning close to her. "Are you going to start crying or complain to— Wait, there is no one for you to complain to. You, Leah Xu, have no one on your side."
Leah felt suffocated inside. But before she could let the negative emotions push her down, a hand was placed on her shoulder.
"Are you bullying my wife here?"
The next instant Leo pushed Julie behind, causing the woman to stumble backwards.
