Once Leo hung up the call, he heard a soft sound behind him and turned his head only to find nothing there. He walked over to his bedroom door, only to find it closed.
He extended his hand, about to open the door before he lowered it.
"This will be a long night," he muttered. He better go and get some coffee.

Because Miles couldn't contact the police, he dispatched few men under him to investigate and find his son's location. Last one's to have contact with his son happened to be The Hunters.
Learning this, Jenny cried for her poor son and prayed he would come home safely.
The constant worrying from her irritated Miles. Running his hand through his hair, he cursed, "Shut up! If you raised that useless son of yours properly, we wouldn't have to go through this dilemma!"
Then, another video was sent to Miles. Over there, Henry laid on the floor, and the kidnappers kicked him from all sides, merciless. Moans of pain escaped from his mouth. Instead of trying to escape it, he seemed to be enjoying it.
Black covered Jenny's vision when she saw the video, stumbling backwards and falling down on the couch. Tears fell down her eyes.
Miles felt a sharp attack in his chest. This Leo had gone too far.
"My son, my precious Henry, when did he have to go through such hardships? I always raised him at the palm of my hands, afraid of scold him.
That ungrateful wench! I knew it she was a jinx! I told you not bring her home! Look at what had happened! We brought her up for so long, and she turned against us! Why can't that mad man just strange her to death instead of entangling with us!?"
All this commotion woke Arianna up. Dressed in her night gown, she came down stairs. Her eyes fell on her crying and panicking mother then shifting over to her enraged father.
"What's the matter?" her cold voice came.
Jenny made her way over to her and said, "Arianna, did we wake you up? Your brother, Henry, he had been abducted by that bastard and now is being tortured!"
Arianna furrowed her brows.
"What does he want?" she questioned.
Miles replied, "Five percent of the shares."
"You can't give him the shares. No matter what, it's not like he would kill Henry at the end. It is a society ruled by laws," Arianna responded.
Thinking about she only owned five percent shares, there was no way she would allow five percent of shares under her father's name to be transferred to Leah.
Wouldn't that put her on the same footing as Arianna?
There was no way she deserved it.
Arianna reached out for her phone and dialled Leah's number.

Leah hid herself tightly under the covers. The conversation Leo had on the phone flashed in her mind. Although she couldn't gather the content of it, she understood Leo had done something against the Xu Family for her sake.
Her phone then rang up.
She finally stopped letting the covers suffocate her, peeking her head out. She reached out for her phone, and when she saw the call was from Arianna, Leah hesitated for a second before receiving it.
"Tell that madman to stop doing whatever he is doing and release Harry," Arianna coldly said, "is he aware of the consequences he is going to face after this? What about you? You don't want to mess with the Xu Family, right?"
Leah's voice held confusion in it. "What are you talking about? What did Leo do?"
"Stop acting clueless, you bitch! I know you put that madman up on it. My son had been drugged by him—"
Jenny's shrieking words were cut off short when the door to her room opened, and Leo entered. Leah watched the man grab her phone from her hand and instantly hang up the call.
"I forgot about this," Leo said, sounding irritated. "It must have disturbed your sleep schedule. Go to bed now."
"What's going on?" Leah asked.
"Nothing you need to worry about," Leo said. Then, along with her phone, he stepped out the room. As he stood beside the door, he turned back and warned, "No sneaking off and trying to listen to me. I will be mad if you do it."
Leah narrowed her eyes at him for split of a second before wearing a silly perplexed expression on her face.
The next time Leo picked up the call was at dawn. Drinking another glass of coffee, he looked away from the document on his laptop screen.
"Five percent of shares is too much. What about 2.5 percent? Does that work?" came Miles's exhausted voice. There was a hint of expectation in it.
Leo turned him down. "Five percent wouldn't make me content any longer. It's six percent now."
"Are you fucking playing me? Do you think you can just ask for six percent!?"
"If you disagree this time, it's only going to increase to seven next time," Leo pointed out.
"You're dreaming! I will find my son with my own abilities. Do you think—"
Leo wasn't in the mood for more bragging and hung up the call. He had a huge work burden to handle before preparing a hearty breakfast for his dead wife.
After half an hour, the man was sent another video of his son. This time his beaten and bruised son was given another variant of drug.
It stimulated his sexual desires, and the effect of the aphrodisiac made him do unsightly things. Beside him was a group of men in mask that he desperately wanted the attention from.
Looking through this almost sent Miles Xu into a heart attack. Jenny felt dizzy as well and couldn't breathe well.
But before Miles was able to dial Leo's number, final blow had been sent to him. A document was texted to him, and when he opened it, it held evidences all of Harry's misbehaviour and crimes over the past years.
There was a sexual abuse, physical assault, illegal drug consumption, and embezzlement of funds included. If this got exposed, the Xu Family would entirely go down.
Fear gripped Miles's chest. Although he made up his mind to bury his son alive once he got his hand on him, he didn't waste a second before calling Leo.
"Seven percent it is," Miles said in his depe anxiety. "But you have to promise to erase all the videos. There can't be second copy of it."
"See, you should have agreed earlier. You wasted time for both of us. That Harry Xu got tortured for no reason."
Leo knew the main reason Miles Xu agreed so easily wasn't because he dared for his son's life. It was the damage those evidences could do his reputation that made him act.
This is why he presented them at last.
He needed a reason to torture Harry Xu. When the beloved pampered son of Xu Family was hurt, it would directly attack the fragile corner of both of these old people.
