Chapter 84 - Billy Flood

"He used to." Ginnie shrugged. "My dad told me the next time Billy pushed me I should kick him in the balls."

Blue choked on her spit. "Uh…did you?"

"Am I gonna get in trouble?" she asked. 

"No," said Blue. "Tell me what happened."

"He pushed me really hard. I fell." Ginnie gulped. "He was laughing. I stood up, and I kicked him between the legs." She stared up at Blue defiantly. "He cried. But I'm not sorry."

Blue couldn't fault the girl. She was glad she'd taught Billy a lesson. "When did this

happen?"

"I don't remember when exactly, but I know it was before winter break."

"Ginnie, have you ever seen anyone around the bus stop? Any strangers or maybe cars that didn't belong?"

Ginnie shook her head. 

"What time did you get to the bus stop?"

"I don't know. I was only there for like a minute when Mr. Earl pulled up. Billy came running around the corner, hollering. He almost missed it."

"You didn't see Lila at all?"
