Chapter 16 - 16

The CEO's personal driver parked in the main lot of her mansion. She opened the back door and stepped out, while MD climbed out from the front seat, watching her. She headed straight for the entrance, with him following closely behind.

The grand sitting room was empty as she went upstairs. MD sat down, his eyes following her until she disappeared from sight. After a short while, one of the housemaid staff he recognized came downstairs, greeted him politely, and said, "Madam asked you to meet her upstairs."

MD rose and followed her guidance into another large sitting room on the upper floor. That room too was empty. He sat down, now even more eager to understand why she had brought him here at such a late hour. There had to be an important reason, and he was determined to find out.

About ten minutes later, she entered the sitting room, watching him quietly. "Come in, Shen Yi," she said softly.

He stood up and followed her through a wide corridor. She unlocked one of four doors and stepped inside, with him right behind her.

It was a large, well-furnished bedroom, equipped with everything imaginable. On the bed lay a beautiful woman, no more than forty-two, wrapped in a thick duvet. Standing nearby was a registered nurse and two maids. The CEO walked to the woman's side, sat down gently, and stroked her long hair. "Meet Dr. Shen Yi," she said softly.

The woman only stared at him without blinking. MD forced a polite smile. "Good morning, ma'am," he greeted. Still, she kept her gaze fixed on him. The CEO lowered her eyes, then carefully adjusted the woman's position. One maid quickly stepped forward to arrange her duvet and pillow.

Turning to the nurse, the CEO asked, "Why hasn't she slept yet?"

"She woke up earlier, Madam," the nurse replied respectfully.

The CEO nodded, then said, "Sorry to disturb your rest. Please get me a syringe and needle."

The nurse disappeared into a side room and soon returned with the items. The CEO looked at MD. "Come over, Shen Yi."

He approached the bed, and she instructed him to draw blood. The woman remained calm throughout the procedure. When he finished, the CEO placed a tender kiss on her forehead before carefully laying her back. Then she rose and walked out of the room, with MD following.

She stopped in the upstairs sitting room, lost in thought, clutching the vial of blood sealed in a small container inside a ziplock bag. MD stood nearby, lowering his head, completely confused. Who was this woman? Why had she asked him to collect her blood sample? He knew all the household staff, but he had never seen this woman before. Clearly, she wasn't stable.

He glanced at the CEO again, noticing the faint smile on her face as she wiped away the tears gathering in her eyes. Without looking at him, she said quietly, "We're going back to the hospital now, Shen Yi."

He nodded. "Alright, Ma'am."

They left, and by 2:30 a.m., they were back at the hospital.

At the reception, Dr. Balogun greeted her politely. "Welcome, Ma'am."

Without acknowledging him, she asked, "Has Zhan been transferred to a ward, or is he still in Emergency?"

"He's been moved to the ward, Ma'am. His breathing is stable now," Dr. Balogun answered respectfully.

"Which ward?" she asked.

He told her, and she headed there, with MD following. Inside, Aunty Marquis was seated quietly while Zhan slept peacefully. Aunty Marquis stood to greet the CEO, then stepped aside. The CEO acknowledged her briefly, her eyes fixed on Zhan, before turning to MD.

Calmly, she said, "Get a syringe and needle."

MD left, puzzled about her intentions. A few minutes later, he returned with the items.

"Take his blood sample," she instructed.

MD froze in shock. Still, he did as told, drawing Zhan's blood. Together, they left the ward, with Aunty Marquis watching closely.

Back in her office, she handed him both blood samples...the one from her home and the one from Zhan. In a low but firm voice, she said, "I want genetic testing for both samples. As soon as possible."

MD stared at her, unable to hide his surprise. Genetic testing? What could this mean? What was her intention? Still, he accepted the samples quietly. She kept her gaze on him, her eyes filling again with fresh tears as he turned and walked to the door.

The next morning, after checking on Zhan in the ward, the CEO prepared to leave. MD escorted her to her car, carrying her laptop. As she got into the back seat, he handed it over, noticing the exhaustion on her face.

"Ma'am, you need rest," he said gently.

She nodded slowly. "Sure. Please… take good care of him."

"We will, Ma'am," he reassured her.

After locking the car door, he returned to the hospital. At the reception, he met Dr. Kexing coming out of Zhan's ward. Seeing him heading out, MD asked, "Where are you going?"

"Airport. My flight is in thirty minutes," Dr. Kexing replied.

"Why didn't you tell me you booked already?" MD pressed.

"Mom already told you I'd be going back to Beijing today," Dr. Kexing answered simply.

MD nodded. "Safe journey." Then he went upstairs, while Dr. Kexing left through the main entrance.

****

From that day, the CEO did not return to the hospital again.

Within four days, Zhan's condition improved greatly...he was even able to eat. Throughout those days, Aunty Marquis stayed with him constantly, while Hai Kuan and Lan Yi came every day to check on him. Qiren, however, had forbidden Lan Yi from staying overnight at the hospital.

That evening, Zhan was in the hospital courtyard with Aunty Marquis after taking the strolls the doctors had recommended for him every evening. Looking worried, Zhan asked,

"Aunty, what exactly did my Gege go abroad for? Why hasn't he come back yet?"

Aunty Marquis replied, "It's work that took him there, but I'm sure he'll be back soon."

Zhan fell silent, reflecting on her words. After a moment, he looked at her again and said,

"So he still chose to leave even knowing I wasn't well?"

Aunty Marquis chuckled softly. "You're right. He should have put his work aside and stayed by his baby side until he got better."

Zhan gave a faint smile but said no more.

"Come on, let's go inside," Aunty Marquis added. "You've walked enough for today."

Zhan stood, and together they returned to the ward.

For seven days straight, Zhan stayed in the hospital with Aunty Marquis by his side. Meanwhile, the MD's focus was entirely on the genetic test results that the CEO had ordered. He couldn't explain why he was so restless, counting down the days, waiting for the report. On the eighth day, Qiren requested Zhan's discharge, asking only for the bill since it seemed obvious to everyone that Zhan had fully recovered.

Around 2 p.m., Dr. Jing entered the MD's office to deliver Qiren's request.

"But what do you think?" Dr. Jing asked. "Personally, I believe it's time to discharge him."

The MD sat silently. He knew Zhan had recovered and that the decision was in his hands, but he hadn't acted. The CEO hadn't instructed him either, though she called daily to ask after Zhan's condition—strangely, she never came in person.

"What are you thinking about, sir?" Dr. Jing pressed with a teasing smile. "Don't tell me you're not tired of seeing him yet?"

The MD didn't answer immediately. At last, he said, "Let me call the CEO first."

Dr. Jing blinked in surprise. "The CEO? She's not even in the country...and besides, we've never needed her approval to discharge a patient."

"She's here," the MD replied quietly. "And the file is with her, not me."

"Really? I thought she'd gone back. It's been a week since she came by," Dr. Jing said.

"She's been unwell," the MD explained. "But she's improving."

Dr. Jing nodded. "I see. Well then, speak with her."

The MD dialed the CEO's number. She answered on the first ring. After exchanging greetings, he explained the request. She paused for a few seconds before saying, "Yes, you can discharge him. As for the bill, tell his father there is none."

The MD hesitated before answering, "Understood, Ma'am."

"And the test results?" she asked softly.

"They should be ready later today," he replied.

"Good. Remember...no bill for them," she repeated.

"Yes, Ma'am," he said, and then hung up. Rising from his chair, he and Dr. Jing left the office together.

Zhan was overjoyed when he heard they were being discharged—he had longed to leave the hospital. Hai Kuan, however, was puzzled.

"Why would the MD say there's no bill? Everything free? That doesn't make sense," he muttered.

Aunty Marquis looked at him. "Well, barrister, maybe it's because he's considered part of their staff now."

Hai Kuan frowned. "Staff? How? Do you know how much ICU care costs per day? And Zhan was there nearly a week! Not to mention the expensive drugs, injections, and three meals daily in this hospital of all places. I don't understand why they'd waive all of that."

Zhan quietly watched him. Aunty Marquis sighed.

"Whatever the reason, let's just be grateful. And don't tell Lan Yi Jie....she'll only make it bigger than it is. My guess is that since Zhan has started working with them, they covered everything. Anyway, is Yibo also discharged?"

Zhan's head snapped around to her, eyes wide. He jumped down from the bed and demanded, "Aunty, is my Gege unwell?"

Hai Kuan stared at him silently. Aunty Marquis widened her eyes slightly, realizing she had spoken carelessly. She forced a smile.

"He wasn't feeling well yesterday, so he saw a doctor. But he's fine now."

Zhan studied her intently, then turned to Hai Kuan with worry. "So my Gege was sick, and no one told me?"

Hai Kuan replied, "He's better now. You'll see him when we get home."

Aunty Marquis quickly took Zhan's hand, leading him out of the ward with Hai Kuan following.

For the past week, the MD had been avoiding Zhan's eyes, and Zhan had done the same. Ever since discovering that the MD was Dr. Kexing's elder brother...the same Dr. Kexing who used to talk endlessly about him but claimed he was in Canada....Zhan hadn't known how to act. Was it embarrassment over how he had treated the MD before? Or regret for what had happened between them? Some part of him thought, I never really did him any harm. If anything, he was the one who mistreated me. Still, for Kexing's sake, Zhan resolved that someday he would apologize for the past....but not yet.

As they stepped into the reception, Zhan accidentally met the MD's gaze. The Zhan's heart lurched; he quickly looked away.

Aunty Marquis smiled warmly and said, "Doctor, we're heading home now. Please thank the rest of your colleagues for us as well."

The MD lowered his eyes and murmured, "Safe journey." With a single glance at Hai Kuan, he turned and went upstairs, while they left the hospital together.

-----

When Zhan entered the house, he went straight to the kitchen and hugged Lan Yi, who was cooking. Aunty Marquis had already called to inform her that Zhan had been discharged.

The first thing Zhan asked after releasing her was, "Mama, where's my Gege?"

Lan Yi forced a small smile. "He'll be back later. Let's go get you washed up."

Looking troubled, Zhan protested, "No, Mama. You told me he went abroad, but the truth is he wasn't well, wasn't he? Please tell me where he is."

Lan Yi held his hand gently. "Listen, your Gege lives here. Of course you'll see him since you're under the same roof. But right now, let's get you cleaned up and fed before four o'clock." With that, she led him out of the kitchen and upstairs.

Meanwhile, ever since the MD had seen the result of the DNA test the CEO had ordered, his mind had been in chaos. For the past week he had been restless, unable to think clearly. When the result first came out, he couldn't resist the urge to check it, even though he knew he shouldn't. Now he couldn't sit or stand still in his office.

Zhan had barely been discharged for an hour, and yet the MD was drowning in confusion. Could it be true that the woman he had seen lying on that bed was actually Zhan's mother? But how? What connection did she have to the CEO?

He himself had drawn the woman's blood sample, along with Zhan's. How then did the genetic test come out positive? Before he knew it, he had already dialed the CEO's number. She picked up after just one ring. Sitting back down, his voice unsteady, he said, "Ma'am, the results are out."

There was silence on her end. At last, she asked quietly, "I know you checked it, Shan Yi. What did you see?"

Still confused, he answered, "Ma'am… it came out positive."

Her voice trembled. "Then she's Zhan's mother."

The MD shot to his feet. "But how, Ma'am? Are you in any way related to that woman?"

The CEO's reply came strained, as if forcing strength into her words. "It's a very long story, Shan Yi…" Then her voice broke, and she began sobbing, trying hard to suppress it.

The MD's chest tightened. "What about his father then?" he asked.

Again, silence. Then, with a bitter, shaky laugh, she said, "He's still alive, Shan Yi. And if I mention his name, you'll know him immediately...he's very well known. But it's been over seven years since he last set foot in China. From time to time, I meet him in the UK."

The MD sank back into his chair, speechless. After a long pause, he finally managed, "Then how will you break this to his foster parents?"

She remained quiet, her tone laced with painful irony when she finally spoke. "I will give them the time, day, month, and year they first saw him… where exactly they saw him… and the state he was in." Her voice cracked, and she was barely holding back her tears.

The MD stood again, lost in a deeper wave of confusion. "But how do you know all this, Ma'am? Did you already know when and where he was abandoned?"

Tears slipped silently down her face. For a few seconds she couldn't speak. Finally, gathering her strength, she whispered, "I told you...it's a long story, Shan Yi. I'll get back to you." And with that, she ended the call abruptly, before her grief could overwhelm her completely.

Lan Yi placed the food she brought for Zhan in his bedroom...a dish of liver sauce...and looked at him.

"Will you have some tea?" she asked.

Zhan shook his head. "No, the food is enough, Mama."

Lan Yi headed for the door. Zhan kept his eyes on her until she stepped out and closed it. Slowly, he pushed the food aside, stood up, put on his cap, and carefully opened his door to peek into the corridor. Once he no longer saw Lan Yi, he locked his door, went downstairs, and walked straight to Yibo's room. He knocked gently before turning the handle to open it.

Both Yibo and Hai Kuan turned at once to face the door. Zhan's eyes widened slightly before he rushed inside, his face full of worry as he crouched in front of Yibo.

"Gege, you didn't even tell me you were back."

He glanced at the cannula in Yibo's hand. Before Zhan could say anything, Yibo spoke, "The drip just finished. I'll take a bath, then come welcome you, Baby."

Zhan's expression deepened with concern. "What happened, Gege? Since when have you been sick?"

Yibo gave a faint smile. "I'm feeling better now."

Zhan placed his palm gently on Yibo's forehead, checking his temperature...it was normal. "Thank goodness, Gege," he whispered softly.

"Thanks, Baby. And how are you feeling?" Yibo asked.

"I've been fine for a while," Zhan replied.

Zhan looked at the food in the warmer on the floor. Kneeling, he opened it and asked, "Shall I serve you?"

"I'll take a bath first," Yibo said.

Zhan sat down on the carpet. "Okay, I'll wait. When you're done, I'll serve you."

Yibo chuckled. "Why don't you bath too?"

Zhan glanced at Hai Kuan, who had been quietly watching them. Hai Kuan didn't say a word, just lowered his head with a faint smile while fiddling with his phone. Zhan stood up. "I'll come back after your bath, Gege."

"Alright," Yibo replied.

Hai Kuan picked up Aunty Marquis's phone and handed it to Zhan. "Take this to her."

Zhan accepted the phone and left the room.

Hai Kuan turned back to Yibo. "Can you manage the bathroom?"

"I'll try," Yibo answered.

Meanwhile, Zhan returned to his room and started eating the food Lan Yi had brought earlier. He ate slowly, but soon his body felt cold as memories of the incident that had kept him in the hospital for nearly three weeks returned. Even though he liked the meal, he couldn't eat much; his appetite vanished. Eventually, he pushed the food aside and lay back on his bed, the events replaying vividly in his mind.

After about twenty minutes, he heard his door open. He quickly turned and saw Hai Kuan at the doorway. Zhan sat up, and before he could say anything, Hai Kuan said, "He's finished bathing. Go serve him his food."

Zhan slipped off the bed. "Alright." Then he quickly asked, "Gege, have you eaten too?"

"Later," Hai Kuan replied before leaving.

Zhan went to Yibo's room. Yibo was seated on a rug. He locked the door, came closer, and crouched beside him. "Are you done, Gege?"

"Yes."

Zhan studied him quietly, noticing how much weight he'd lost. "Gege, how long have you been sick?" he asked softly.

Yibo lifted two fingers, signaling two days. He said nothing more as Zhan opened the warmer. It was the same kind of food he had eaten earlier in his room. Zhan served him a portion, set a spoon beside it, then moved aside to watch him.

Yibo lowered his eyes, picked up the spoon, and began eating slowly. After a few minutes of silence, he spoke:

"I heard the MD is Dr. Kexing's older brother…?"

Zhan's eyes widened. "Gege, I was really shocked. That was the last thing I expected. Honestly, they don't even look alike...except maybe they both have thick eyebrows and similar noses. Apart from that, I see no resemblance. Their personalities, though, are strikingly similar. Sometimes when MD does something, it reminds me so much of Dr. Kexing. Their attitude feels almost the same. The only difference is that Dr. Kexing doesn't waste time on irrelevant matters the way MD sometimes does. It turns out MD resembles his mother, Gege. That day, it felt like I was dreaming. Such a coincidence…"

Yibo ate slowly, a small smile on his face as he listened to Zhan. When Zhan finally fell quiet, Yibo lifted his gaze and asked,

"It's like you've been waiting for this question so you could pour out everything on your mind, Baby?"

Zhan gave a little laugh. "Gege, honestly, I didn't have anyone to share it with. I was so shocked and confused… I even regretted how I treated MD back at the hospital." He finished his words softly.

Yibo studied him. "What things did you do to him?"

Zhan lowered his head slightly. "Well, to be fair, he kind of brought it on himself."

"Tell me what you did," Yibo urged.

Zhan was about to speak when the door opened. They both looked up...it was Lan Yi standing at the entrance. She was surprised to see Yibo actually eating. For the past five days, he'd barely touched food, surviving on tea or fruit. Even when forced, he would only manage two spoons at most. But now, she saw he'd eaten more than usual.

Zhan began to rise, but Lan Yi waved him down. "Stay seated. You already ate yours, right?"

Zhan nodded. "Yes, Mama."

Lan Yi quietly closed the door and left.

Yibo's phone vibrated. He picked it up, glanced at the screen, then looked at Zhan. "He's the one calling."

"MD?" Zhan's eyes widened.

Yibo nodded and answered. After a brief exchange of greetings, he fell silent, listening intently. Finally, he said, "Alright, when exactly?" and after a pause, "Okay, no problem."

He ended the call. Zhan leaned forward eagerly. "Gege, what did he say?"

Yibo rubbed Zhan's nose. "He said you still have three more drips and five injections to go. He wants you back at the hospital immediately."

Zhan frowned. "No way. I'm not going back for any drip. Everyone knows I've recovered."

Yibo chuckled.

Zhan pouted. "Please, Gege, be serious. I know that's not all he said. Just tell me the truth."

Yibo carefully set down his spoon. "He said he's coming here. He wants to discuss an issue with me."

Zhan fell silent, staring at him, repeating those words in his mind.

The door opened again...Hai Kuan entered, carrying a bag. He placed it beside Zhan. "Wash the fruits for him."

Zhan peeked inside, then glanced at Hai Kuan. "What about me, Gege?"

"Oh, you want some too?"

Zhan pouted, making Hai Kuan smile. "It's for both of you."

Zhan's face lit up. "Thank you, Gege."

The two of them left the room together...Zhan headed to the kitchen to wash the fruits while Hai Kuan went upstairs.

----

Later, around 8 p.m., Yibo stepped into the sitting room after receiving a call from MD, who said he was outside. Lan Yi was there with the housemaid. She looked at him.

"Where are you going?"

Yibo turned back. "Dr. Shen Yi called. He said we need to discuss something, so he's outside the house."

Lan Yi frowned. "And who is this Dr. Shen Yi?"

"He's MD," Yibo replied.

"MD? And what discussion could that be?"

"That's what I'm going out to find out. He told me earlier he would come. Now he's here."

Lan Yi's unease spiked. She stood quickly. Before she could speak, Yibo rushed to reassure her.

"Look, Mama, I think it's just something concerning Zhan's health. Nothing more."

He hadn't even realized how quickly the words escaped his mouth...hoping to calm her. Instead, it only made her more anxious.

"Oh no," she muttered. "What if they found something…? That doctor has always been exaggerating about the liver. What if there really was some kind of poisoning...?"

Yibo forced a steady smile. "I know that's not the case. Don't worry yourself. I'll go, hear him out, and come back."

He left the sitting room. The maid turned to Lan Yi. "Please, calm yourself ma'am. Everything will be fine."

Lan Yi said nothing, but her heart pounded.

Yibo sat in MD's car, staring at the DNA test result in his hands. He was utterly confused. "What is this supposed to mean? I see Zhan's name, but the other side has no name. I don't understand anything. What does it mean?"

MD shook his head. "I'm just as confused as you. Our CEO is the only one who can explain. About eight or nine days ago, she took me to her house at night and had me collect a blood sample from a certain woman. Then, back at the hospital, she ordered me to take Zhan's blood and run a genetic test. The results just came in...and this is what I'm seeing."

Yibo stared at him without blinking. As if sensing his thoughts, MD quickly added, "Listen, if I hadn't drawn the samples myself, I wouldn't believe it either. But I did. With my own hands."

"Then what does this mean?" Yibo demanded. "It's positive. Who is this woman?"

"That's why I said only the CEO can explain. The woman lives in her house. And honestly, from what I saw, she doesn't seem mentally stable."

Yibo looked back at the paper in shock, speechless.

MD continued, "You seemed more reasonable than your brother, the Barrister, so I ask Dr. Jing to gave me your number, I decided to reach out to you."

Yibo lifted his head, looking tense. "I'm confused. What exactly is the CEO saying?"

MD replied, "You know what needs to happen now?"

Yibo shook his head.

MD continued, "You should probably speak to your father about this as soon as possible. Then, you all should go to the CEO's house...she's the only one who can explain who this woman is that the DNA test shows as Zhan's mother. You're a doctor, and I am too. We both know DNA doesn't lie. Of course, I understand this isn't solid proof to you or your family since you didn't witness the blood collection yourselves. I'm certain another test will be done to clear everyone's doubts...one where you personally collect both samples and send them to any lab you trust."

Yibo fell deep into thought. At once, Lan Yi's words echoed in his mind—how she had always doubted the CEO's involvement in Zhan's care, even before the poisoning incident. She had insisted something wasn't right. Shaking his head, Yibo admitted, "I still can't process all this. So what did the CEO say about the result?"

MD sighed. "She just cried. She couldn't explain anything. And I only came here with her knowledge. She's clearly willing to reveal who the woman in her house is."

Yibo said, "Tomorrow morning, my father will return. I'll tell him everything, and I'm sure we'll go straight to the CEO's place. But tell me...this woman you drew blood from, was she Chinese?" His heartbeat raced as he asked.

MD answered slowly, "I can't really tell. I already mentioned...she didn't seem mentally stable."

Yibo had no response. He leaned his head back against the car seat, utterly unsettled.

When Yibo got home, his head was pounding. He was so confused that he started to feel physically ill. Lan Yi, who had been waiting anxiously, rushed to him.

"What happened, Yibo?" she asked, her voice trembling.

He forced a calm expression. "Nothing serious, Mama. Just that they want to put him on some medications for a few months."

Lan Yi broke down in tears. "Didn't I say so? Maybe they've seen something dangerous."

Yibo gave a strained laugh. "Come on, Mama. The medicine is only to flush out his system since the poison was strong. They haven't found anything. And medically, it's the right thing to keep him on treatment. I think they simply forgot to prescribe it when he was discharged."

He managed to soothe her worries, then went straight to Hai Kuan's room and explained everything MD had told him. Hai Kuan was speechless, staring at Yibo.

Yibo said, "I'll call Baba now, before he even gets home. This is an issue that must be treated with urgency."

Hai Kuan frowned. "But how can we trust this result when we weren't there to see the blood drawn?"

Yibo nodded. "Exactly. That's why another test will definitely be done to clear all doubts."

Quietly, Hai Kuan asked, "But… was the woman Chinese?"

Yibo lowered his eyes. "He said she's not even mentally stable." Hai Kuan just stared at him without blinking.

The next morning, Qiren's flight from Beijing landed early in Guangzhou. Lan Yi was shocked...she expected him by evening, not so soon. She welcomed him home, but he didn't even sit down before saying,

"Get ready. We're going out."

"To where?" she asked in surprise.

"To the CEO's house, to thank her before she leaves the country."

Lan Yi scowled. "Thank her for what? Didn't we already pay...?"

Qiren cut her off. "Who told you we paid her? Don't you know she never took a dime from us? And even if we had, would it be a crime to show gratitude to the one who saved our son's life? She flew in top specialists from abroad just for Zhan. Why do you talk like this, Madam?"

Lan Yi turned her face away, saying nothing.

"I'll be waiting in the living room," Qiren said, heading downstairs.

Lan Yi had no choice but to prepare. She came down without informing Aunty Marquis. Spotting Zhan, she asked, "And where do you think you're going?"

Qiren answered, "I told him to get ready. He's coming with us."

Lan Yi protested. "But he just recovered. Isn't it too soon for him to start going out?"

Yibo simply glanced at her, while Hai Kuan also watched from the living room.

"It's only the car ride, Mama," Hai Kuan said softly. "He won't be doing anything."

Qiren added firmly, "He'll be fine. Now let's go."

Lan Yi frowned. "And you two as well?" she asked, looking at Yibo and Hai Kuan.

"You're wasting time," Qiren muttered, already heading for the car. Hai Kuan followed.

Zhan stood up quietly, Lan Yi glaring at Yibo in frustration. "So all of you are going? Since when do discharged patients visit the CEO's home to show thanks?"

Yibo lowered his voice. "Please, Mama, let's just go. It's nothing serious...only gratitude for how she gave us her full attention at the hospital. And don't forget, she flew in doctors from abroad because of Zhan. Please, relax."

Finally, she gave in, and they all went out to join Qiren's car waiting outside.

Earlier that morning, Yibo had already called MD, who sent him the CEO's home address as Qiren requested. With Qiren driving, they set off straight to her house.
