Early in the morning, Han Yu woke up. After tucking the blanket around the still-sleeping Wanda, he got up to open the door. Passing by the computer room, he unexpectedly heard voices inside.
"Petro, only take the gold! How many times have I told you, don't take the cash. Even all the bills together aren't worth as much as the gold!"
"Why are you shouting so loudly? I thought bills were more valuable!"
Han Yu couldn't help but laugh and shake his head at the conversation between Ultron and Petro. He didn't go inside, instead heading downstairs to open the shop.
When he pushed open the shop door, the morning air was refreshing. Stretching lazily, he noticed a person standing next to the door.
This person wore a hooded outfit, face obscured, and their clothing seemed out of place with the surroundings—an Eastern-style yellow tunic with a cinched waist.
Seeing Han Yu looking at her, the person slowly spoke: "Excuse me, is this the 'Youjian Grocery Store'?"
The voice was female. Combined with the attire, Han Yu immediately guessed her identity and smiled:
"A rare guest! The Supreme Sorceress herself, instead of Strange at Kamar-Taj, personally visiting my little shop—it truly honors this humble place."
Under the hood, her eyebrows raised slightly, and as she removed it, another surprise appeared—a bald head!
This was Ancient One, a sorcerer from the Supreme Sanctuary, and currently the most powerful magician on Earth, dedicated to defending against threats from the magical realm.
Strange, whom Han Yu mentioned, was her successor, the next Supreme Sorcerer, known as Doctor Strange.
"Truly someone who can lift Thor's hammer and earn the Avengers' respect. You know much indeed. Hello, I am the Ancient One," she said, smiling and extending her hand. Han Yu smiled and shook it.
"You also know much. I am Han Yu. Please, come in and have a seat."
Han Yu wasn't surprised that Ancient One knew he could lift Thor's hammer—her level of skill made such knowledge trivial.
He made space for her, and she nodded, walking into the store. Han Yu led her to the dining area, finding a place to sit.
"Ancient One, you came personally. Is something wrong?"
Han Yu placed two cups of tea, one in front of her.
"Not a big matter. You mentioned it, right? You know Strange went to Kamar-Taj to see me." Ancient One sipped her tea, its aroma filling her senses. "Good tea."
"Yes. What of it? I suppose he should be at Kamar-Taj by now," Han Yu replied, taking a sip himself.
Ancient One smiled silently, gently swirling her cup, staring at the tea leaves settled at the bottom. After a moment, she said:
"Mr. Han, you are not from this timeline, are you?"
Han Yu's eyes narrowed slightly, a sharp glint appearing, though his expression remained calm. "What do you mean?"
"I assume you know, my role is Supreme Sorcerer, the guardian of the Time Stone, one of the Infinity Stones," she explained.
Han Yu looked at her, nodding slightly to indicate she should continue.
"I once used the Time Stone to see future events. I knew what would happen, but I did not intervene, only let things take their natural course. Then, one day, something changed. Certain events happened earlier than expected. When I used the Time Stone again, I could no longer see the future."
"Furthermore, Strange did not come to see me. The day before his supposed accident, he passed through unharmed."
"I suspect only one possibility: someone has interfered with this timeline, altering time itself. Even the Infinity Stones cannot predict the changes!"
She stared at Han Yu: "I believe it is your arrival that caused these changes. You… do not belong to this world, or rather, this universe."
Han Yu, who had been silent until now, slowly smiled, a mysterious expression forming.
Ancient One appeared calm on the surface, but her hand naturally rested near the sling ring on her leg—a mystical ring capable of opening portals. If Han Yu made a move, she would immediately use it to fight. Normally, it rested at her waist, but on this occasion, it was on her leg, so her hand resting there seemed natural.
Han Yu lightly applauded. After a few seconds, he said:
"Not surprising for a sorceress who has drawn on Dormammu's dark energy for hundreds of years. You are indeed knowledgeable. You are the first to know my true identity. So… do you intend to kill me?"
Leaning back, he crossed his legs, hands resting on his knees, exuding a subtle but palpable aura that circled around Ancient One without pressing down.
Upon hearing that he had drawn on dark energy to extend his life, her expression changed slightly. She had not even shared that secret with her closest disciple—Han Yu knew far more than expected.
Ancient One sensed the pressure around her. Though she did not act, even the slightest emanation made her cheek twitch. This young man could be her toughest opponent in years, perhaps impossible to defeat.
She took a deep breath. "No, I have a request."
"Oh? A request? Please, tell me."
Han Yu immediately withdrew his aura, speaking with interest.
Ancient One, now relaxed, exhaled deeply:
"I want to ask if Wanda, from your shop, can come to the Supreme Sanctuary. I wish to train her as the next Supreme Sorcerer."
Han Yu had not anticipated this request. He lifted his tea cup, refilling it himself with hot tea.
"Why her?" he asked.
"I know she has awakened a powerful magic called Chaos. In the timeline I saw using the Time Stone, it would take her at least five years to reach this level. Now, she has already surpassed that, even stronger than the Wanda I foresaw. If she comes to me, I am confident I can train her to surpass both myself and Strange," Ancient One explained.
