Han Yu remained silent. As a transmigrator from outside the Marvel Universe—a "fourth-wall breaker"—he knew exactly who Strange would become: Doctor Strange. In the movies, the Ancient One had said of him, "Strange is the best among us."
Now, however, the Ancient One was claiming that Wanda possessed abilities surpassing Doctor Strange. Han Yu understood that this was largely because Wanda had spent time in his shop, where she had acquired numerous enhancements.
Otherwise, based on Wanda's original progression in the movies, even during the events of Endgame, she would not match the Wanda currently by Han Yu's side.
If her original magical potential was 1,000, now it had surpassed 10,000—ten times stronger, frighteningly powerful.
Seeing that Han Yu did not immediately reject the idea, the Ancient One's expression brightened. She quietly sipped her tea, patiently waiting for his response.
"She can go, that's fine. I admit, I don't understand much about magic. I can help her unlock potential, but I can't take her further. But if she goes with you… and becomes the Supreme Sorceress, what about you?" Han Yu asked.
The Ancient One smiled faintly. "I will sever the link to the Dark Dimension, stop absorbing its energy to sustain my life. Then, my aging will visibly accelerate. It's about time I reached the end of my natural life."
As she spoke, there was not a trace of fear in her eyes, only acceptance. Indeed, as a righteous Supreme Sorceress, she had been forced to absorb the dark energy of the villain Dormammu to sustain herself.
Was it vanity? A dark desire?
No. She simply hadn't found anyone worthy enough to succeed her as Supreme Sorceress.
Every Supreme Sorcerer wields power that can alter reality. If this position fell into the wrong hands, the world would face catastrophe.
Han Yu nodded silently. The Ancient One was truly remarkable. Even he recognized that, to protect Earth, she had endured so much—absorbing the dark energy of Dormammu himself—just to wait for someone she could trust to take over.
"I'll talk to Wanda," he said.
Han Yu stood and went upstairs. He paused in surprise: Wanda, impeccably dressed, was already waiting at the staircase.
"You heard everything?"
"Yes."
"From where?"
"From the beginning."
"And your decision?"
"I'm willing to go. I know I have great potential, but I can't develop it here. I don't want to hold you back. If going there will make me strong enough to protect you, to protect this shop, then I'll give everything to achieve it."
Wanda's gaze met Han Yu's unwaveringly. This woman, who had always been obedient and composed behind him, now radiated firm resolve.
Han Yu stepped forward, wrapped his arms around her slender waist, and kissed her softly. Time seemed to stretch as they lingered in the embrace, reluctant to part.
"No need to pack; everything will be there," the Ancient One's voice echoed behind them.
Wanda looked at Han Yu with affection, her long, delicate fingers brushing his cheek, before moving to the Ancient One. "I will come back."
"Take care of her," Han Yu said.
"Don't worry. She won't be wronged there."
With that, the Ancient One, wearing her mystic pendant, opened a portal. After bidding Han Yu farewell, she left with Wanda.
Silence returned to the room. Only the cups on the table still radiated warmth, evidence of recent presence.
Han Yu remained motionless for a long while, dazed, touching his lips.
A hand rested on his shoulder. "Come on, it's not a farewell forever. She'll come back. No need to stare so mournfully."
"Ultron's right. My sister likes you too much; she'll come back. Don't waste time on sadness."
Han Yu turned. Ultron and Quicksilver had somehow appeared behind him, and he hadn't noticed. He exhaled deeply, a familiar smile returning. "Right, sadness doesn't suit us. Well, the women are gone—let's have some fun!"
"Woohoo!"
Ultron and Quicksilver clapped each other on the shoulders, heading upstairs while discussing how to spend the day with Han Yu. Their discussion soon escalated into a playful scuffle.
Watching these two troublemakers, Han Yu shook his head, smiling, then glanced toward where Wanda had disappeared. He murmured, "Good luck, Wanda… I'll be waiting for your return."
While playing a game, Han Yu's phone received an encrypted message—from Captain America. He opened it to find a photo.
The person in the photo was not unfamiliar: Alexander Pierce, leader of Hydra—the same man who had been stunned by Han Yu in his shop.
Han Yu made a "phone" gesture to Ultron and the others. They nodded knowingly. He dialed immediately.
"Steve… what's going on with Alexander Pierce?"
Since the Winter Soldier incident, his relationship with Cap had improved, so Han Yu could now address him by name.
"As you can see, Pierce left your shop last time completely unhinged. By the time we caught him, he was babbling nonsense. We intended to transfer him to another facility, but he suddenly attacked, killing four of our agents and escaped. Now, he's back in this state, hunting S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel. I thought you should know."
Captain America explained the situation over the phone.
"You still can't find him?" Han Yu asked, puzzled.
"He knows the weaknesses of our reconnaissance systems and exploits them to evade detection. Previously, he could mask his murderous intent, but now he shows it openly—completely unrestrained."
Even over the phone, Han Yu could imagine the grave expression on Cap's face.
"I understand. I plan to head to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ as well. Let's meet at Fury's office at nine." Han Yu checked his watch; it was only a little past seven.
"Understood," Cap replied.
Han Yu's involvement could help resolve this quickly. Yet his intervention also revealed that something unusual was happening.
"What's up, boss? Need us?"
After hanging up, Ultron approached, clearly excited. He now had a human-like body, but superior to ordinary humans. He longed for action—empty punches in the shop weren't enough to test his strength. Only formidable enemies would let him show his true power.
