"Thor, don't just sit there. We need to go back quickly," Heimdall said, shaking the god who was slumped on the ground. He sighed, knowing that with the protective barrier gone, Asgard was about to face its final, bloody battle.
Thor's memories flashed before his eyes like a revolving lantern, scene after scene. Childhood memories, happy, sad, and angry moments with Loki, all flooded his mind, a mixture of nostalgia and anger.
Loki, if possible, don't come back.
Thor stood up, his eyes more serious than ever before. The moment he rose, he cast aside all his naivety. Now, his eyes held only resolve.
"Let's go, let's fight," Thor said calmly, walking forward without looking back.
Heimdall was taken aback by this. He saw a determination on Thor's face that he had never witnessed before. Even after a thousand years of war, he had never shown such an expression.
He has truly grown up.
The two of them arrived at the great hall. Just standing at the entrance, they could feel a chilling aura of killing intent emanating from within.
Looking up, the people of Asgard saw Thor and Heimdall and instinctively cleared a path.
At the end of this path, which was clear as day, sat a long-haired man on the throne. This long-haired man was neither Odin nor anyone else from Asgard.
This man was the Sea God, the god-king of the Vanir Gods.
"I'll ask again, do you really not intend to submit to me?" the Sea God asked.
At his feet, he was stepping on a person. That person was Fandral, one of the Warriors Three of Asgard, and also one of Thor's childhood friends.
Even though Fandral was stepped on by the other party, he still refused to back down. He snorted coldly and said, "Hmph, submit to you? I'd rather submit to a dog!"
The Sea God sighed softly, and a cruel look suddenly welled up in his eyes. He said, "What a pity, then I can only ask you to die."
Saying this, he raised his hand. The water vapor in the air condensed and turned into visible water droplets, which floated towards his hand. Countless water droplets turned into wisps of clear streams, swirling in his hand and transforming into a Trident that was taller than a person.
The Sea God reversed his grip, pointing the Trident's spearhead at Fandral, who was lying on the ground. "Last chance," he said.
Fandral sneered, slowly closing his eyes. "For Asgard…" he began.
Before he could finish, the Sea God's Trident descended, and Fandral's head was separated from his body.
"No!"
A roar of fury came from outside the hall, followed by a bolt of lightning.
The Sea God narrowed his eyes and calmly kicked, sending Fandral's body flying.
Just as the lightning was about to strike Fandral, it vanished. Thor caught Fandral's body. Before he could speak, the Sea God's words cut through the air.
"What, you want the head? Here you go."
Having spoken, the Sea God rose and viciously kicked Fandral's head clean off. The kick was sudden and brutal.
The head slammed directly into Thor's face. He didn't flinch or retreat, instead reaching out to catch the falling head.
Looking down at the head in his hands, eyes closed and still bearing a hint of unwillingness, Thor spoke softly, "Brother, I'll take care of Asgard. Rest assured."
He then bent down, placing the head beside the body, allowing it to rest peacefully.
When he looked up at the Sea God again, Thor's expression was calmer than ever before, but his eyes were filled with lightning. Simultaneously, thunder and lightning began to rage outside.
Thor was enraged, truly enraged.
"Hahahaha, Little Thor, what, you want to fight me? Can you even beat me?"
Even with the thunder and lightning raging outside, the Sea God's face didn't change, still displaying an easygoing expression. He simply watched the Thor before him, gripping his Trident.
"Come outside to fight; it's not convenient to move your hands and feet in here," Thor said.
The Sea God looked around. The hall was full of people, and there wasn't much space to walk, let alone fight. Every blow here would cost lives.
"As you wish." The Sea God smiled and then flew out the door. As he flew past Thor, a powerful pressure emanated from the Sea God. Anyone else would have been genuinely terrified and would have knelt down.
Thor remained unmoved, still standing firmly in place.
Interesting. The Sea God thought to himself.
After flying out, Heimdall breathed a sigh of relief, his heart still pounding. The pressure had been directed at Thor, but he, standing nearby, had also felt it.
The Sea God truly possessed power; being the second most powerful in Asgard wasn't just talk.
"Heimdall, if anything happens to me, Asgard is in your hands."
Thor said calmly.
Heimdall opened his mouth, wanting to say, "Don't go and die," but in the current situation, what else could he do? If the Sea God broke in, so many Asgardians inside wouldn't survive either.
Thor could still buy some time outside, time that might not even be useful.
"I will stake my life to protect Asgard," Heimdall said seriously.
Thor smiled freely, turned to look at the Asgardians behind him, and said, "Everyone, don't worry, everything will be alright."
With that, he turned and walked out. Everyone saw Thor's back, but their eyes were filled with sorrow. In their eyes, Thor wasn't going to kill the enemy; he was going to his death.
They weren't fools. The current situation was extremely bad for their Asgard. It was difficult to turn the tables!
Outside, the Sea God was sitting on a throne made of water, smiling at Thor as he walked out.
"Finished saying your goodbyes?" the Sea God chuckled.
"Just a temporary farewell. I'll cut off your head and use it to spice up the celebratory wine," Thor said casually, his words devoid of any hesitation.
The smile on the Sea God's face slowly froze. The other party's words had angered him. He stood up, and the throne behind him transformed back into flowing water the moment he rose, swirling around his body.
"I wish it were as you say, but unfortunately, I don't see you possessing such strength!"
