Chapter 44 - 44: Ye Yin's Third Soul Skill

"From today onwards, Grandmaster will be fully responsible for your teaching," Flender announced. "We will all cooperate with him."

With that, he gently pushed Yu Xiaogang to the front.

Yu Xiaogang looked at the eight students, his face still a lifeless mask from his breakfast ordeal. Finally, his gaze locked onto Ye Yin. This was his chance for a little personal revenge. He would make sure Ye Yin suffered a proper punishment.

"Next," he began, his voice cold and authoritative, "you will all engage in spirit battles. Ye Yin, step forward!"

"Yes!" Ye Yin replied.

"You will compete against Zhu Zhuqing, Xiao Wu, Ma Hongjun, Dai Mubai, and Tang San. Five opponents. No serious injuries are to be inflicted."

"Alright!" Ye Yin agreed happily.

"Ah!" the other five cried out in protest.

"Grandmaster, do you have a grudge against us?" Ma Hongjun asked, his face twisting into a pained expression. "Making the five of us fight Ye Yin… I'd rather eat surströmming with porridge!"

Yu Xiaogang's expression stiffened. Are these combat-type Spirit Masters seriously complaining about facing a lone Support-type Soul Master? he thought, bewildered. What is there to complain about? What could a support-type possibly do to them?

He let out a heavy sigh of disappointment. "The five of you will all be punished! If you don't even have the courage to fight a Support-type Soul Master, how can you ever become proper Spirit Masters? The most important quality for a Spirit Master is courage, and I see none of it in you!"

This was perfect. He would teach Ye Yin a lesson himself. Although his own rank wasn't high, he was more than capable of handling a simple support-type.

"My spirit power is weaker than any of yours," he declared to the students. "Now, I will have a match with Ye Yin. Let me demonstrate what true Spirit Master's courage looks like! Ye Yin, as a Support-type Soul Master, you may choose to refuse this challenge."

Ye Yin shook his head repeatedly. "There's no need, Grandmaster. I'm happy to have a match. I will obey all of your arrangements!"

Yu Xiaogang nodded with satisfaction. "Spread out! Get ready!"

A purple light emerged from his body, coalescing into a strange creature that resembled neither a pig nor a dog.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!" his Spirit, Luo San Pao, roared three times as two yellow spirit rings rose from under Yu Xiaogang's feet. "This is my inferior mutated Spirit, Luo San Pao."

Ye Yin simply spread his right hand, and the Good and Evil Pearl began to spin in his palm. He noticed that after absorbing his third spirit ring, the pearl seemed slightly larger, and its rotation covered a wider area. Three brilliant purple spirit rings rose from beneath his feet. "Grandmaster, you must be careful."

Seeing those three purple rings, Yu Xiaogang felt a familiar pang of regret. He had slapped himself more than once over his failure to recruit Ye Yin back at Nuo Ding Academy.

As Ye Yin prepared to make his move, everyone watched with anticipation. They were all eager to see what his mysterious third Spirit Ability was.

His first spirit ring flashed four times. Two streaks of black light shot toward Yu Xiaogang, and two more flew toward Luo San Pao. It was his first ability, Curse.

As the curses hit, Yu Xiaogang felt the world around him change. The disgust from breakfast faded, but his vision became warped. The vibrant colors of the world seemed to wash out, and the clothes Flender and Zhao Wuji were wearing suddenly looked identical. At the same time, Luo San Pao grunted and began shaking its rear, suffering from a sudden and severe case of diarrhea. Being an animal, it had no sense of shame and simply let loose, though the experience was clearly uncomfortable.

Yu Xiaogang heard the 'poof-poof' sounds and glanced over, but in his colorless world, he couldn't see what was happening clearly. "Ye Yin, use whatever other tricks you have," he said, still brimming with confidence. "Once I make my move, you won't have another chance."

"Alright!" Ye Yin replied, his gaze falling on his third spirit ring.

His third ability was called Organ Curse. It allowed him to apply a random negative effect to one of a target's internal organs for a random duration.

Third Spirit Ability, Organ Curse!

Another four black rays flew out, striking both Luo San Pao and Yu Xiaogang.

Instantly, everyone watched them curiously, trying to deduce the effect of the new ability. But even with a dozen people watching intently, nothing obvious happened at first.

"Is he drooling?" Ma Hongjun suddenly pointed out. "I didn't see anything else, but Grandmaster started drooling. And… he seems to have become very idiotic! Just like the village idiot, with his head tilted and his eyes rolling around."

Dai Mubai kicked Ma Hongjun in the backside. "What do you mean, 'idiotic'? Can't you speak properly? That's called becoming very wise! Do you even understand what high emotional intelligence is? No wonder you can't get a girlfriend."

Ma Hongjun rubbed his butt and fell silent, turning his attention to Luo San Pao. "I can't really see any changes in Luo San Pao. It seems fine."

"There are changes," Tang San said, his observation much sharper. "If you look closely, you'll see that Luo San Pao has started to excrete… white radishes."

Everyone's gaze fell on the creature, and indeed, it was exactly as Tang San had said.

Zhu Zhuqing murmured, "Yin Ge is getting more and more sinister. I don't know what that ability is, but I know it's not going to end well for them."

At that moment, Yu Xiaogang, who was still rolling his eyes and drooling uncontrollably, noticed the white radishes Luo San Pao had left on the ground. His vacant expression slowly shifted as he lowered his head.

"Heh, hehe," he giggled, a thin line of saliva dripping from his chin. "White radishes! I love to eat them!"
