Chapter 20 - Starting from Zero Frame, How About I Leave?

Early in the morning, Tang San smiled at Xiaotian and Xiao Wu."Xiaotian, Xiao Wu, sorry you had to see that mess earlier. If you don't mind, you can stay at my place tonight. I'll also show you around the village today."

Xiaotian and Xiao Wu exchanged glances. They quietly noticed how quickly Tang San's mood had changed.

Just moments ago, Tang San looked completely expressionless around Old Jack. But now, he instantly wore a warm smile.

After saying goodbye to Old Jack, Tang San led them through the Holy Soul Village toward the back mountain.

"That's where I've been practicing ever since awakening my martial spirit," Tang San explained. "It's spacious, filled with blue silver grass—perfect for training."

Xiaotian smirked. "Nonsense. You've been training there since you were little, right?"

(If Ayin could speak, she'd probably be suspicious—why was her son so precocious, practicing martial arts even before awakening? His movements looked like sword intent, but not exactly.)

Suddenly, Tang San turned to Xiao Wu.

"I have no family left. Will you be my sister?"

"What?!"

Xiaotian froze.Hidden in the shadows, Tang Hao muttered angrily, "I only left, I'm not dead yet!"

Xiao Wu answered coldly, "No."

Xiaotian sighed inside. Tang San was born a killer—direct, straightforward, and lacking social grace.

But in the original story, Tang San wasn't supposed to have such low emotional intelligence. Could it be that after just one year of bonding, his feelings for Xiao Wu clouded his mind?

Xiaotian laughed to himself. This was a real lightbulb moment—maybe it was time for him to leave.

Seeing Tang San rejected so directly, Xiaotian kept a poker face, but deep down he almost burst into laughter.

"Tch! Why not? Xiao Wu, tell me—since you're alone, why not be siblings? Don't worry, if danger comes, I'll protect you."

Tang San thought she would agree. After all, he had built good relations with her over the year. But reality wasn't so kind.

Xiaotian thought, If I asked someone like Xiao Wu to be my sister, would she agree? Probably not.

Even Xiao Wu herself didn't know why she refused. She only knew she enjoyed training with Xiaotian. Even though he teased her and punished her, she didn't hate it. In fact, every time she lost to him, the soreness made her strangely motivated.

To ease the awkward atmosphere, Xiaotian interrupted:"Isn't it fine the way things are? We're already friends. Why insist on calling her 'sister'? What does it even change?"

Tang San's face stiffened. He sighed."I'm sorry. I only said that because I'm grieving my father's death. Please forgive me."

Tang San felt disappointed. What started as a hopeful plan had been crushed by reality.

Xiaotian thought, A 70–80% chance of success? More like courting death.

But Tang San noticed Xiao Wu's subtle glances at Xiaotian. Maybe it was because Xiaotian was stronger—after all, women often admire strength.

Only true talent wins hearts.

Though Tang San had little experience in romance, his past life as a killer gave him plenty of insight into emotions.

Over the past year, Xiao Wu had endured many "oppressions" from Xiaotian, but she still trained hard with him. Meanwhile, Tang San spent his time forging, practicing swordplay, and developing hidden weapons like silver needles and sleeve arrows.

Now he wondered if it was time to show Xiao Wu one of his hidden weapons. Maybe it would surprise her.

He was already working on the Zhuge magic crossbow, but without the right ore, it wasn't finished yet.

Still, hidden weapons were unknown in this world. Revealing them might raise suspicion.

If Xiaotian really had memories from another world, he might recognize these weapons. And even if Xiaotian tried to hide it, Tang San's Purple Demon Eyes would see through him.

This was Tang San's test.

"Xiaotian, we haven't sparred in almost a week. How about a match today, since the courtyard is empty?" Tang San smiled.

But deep down, he was planning to secretly test Xiaotian by revealing his hidden weapons.
