Chapter 61 - 4

Decyclopedia: Banicki Gunworks

Banicki Gunworks, or what's left of it, is nestled in the woods west of downtown. It's an hour's walk along Route 66, but since the temperature isn't quite freezing your brains out, you decide to play Tarzan and head through fields and farms. The idea is to avoid prying eyes while strategically snooping around the neighborhood.

You don't spot any Garou glyphs or anything else that suggests you've left the Map. But as you trudge through the undergrowth, you come across a chain-link fence. Trouble awaits. You skirt the fence north, cross a muddy swamp, and return to the shelter of the trees, only to return to the main road. What genius.

The gun shop is a low concrete bunker that, in another life, might have been a mechanic's shop. It's closed, locked, and the blinds are down. A few minutes of poking around in the icy mud and cracked asphalt only reveals rusty tools and a few bullet casings. Great find.

You have a few options for getting in. The combination lock is excellent quality, and you have no idea how to open it, but the chain is rusty. Maybe a good blow will do the trick. Or you can try prying open the garage door or squeezing through a window. The biggest problem is traffic. So far, you've been invisible, but a driver might notice you and your suspicious movements. The intact lock means someone is watching this place, and the last thing you need is a call to the police.

* I examine the garage door. How the hell am I supposed to open it?

* I break the rusty chain on the front door.

* I transform into my glabrous (almost human form) and smash the lock.

* I squeeze through one of the tall, narrow windows. * I transform into my lupus form; it will be easier to get through the window if I am a little smaller.
