Chapter 10 - Stealing using Divine Hands

Amidst the chaos, Rowan and Spencer slowly mixed with the rushing crowd. With Spencer's sharp eyes, he managed to keep track of the suspicious person with the briefcase.

Like an agile snake, Spencer cut through the crowd and gave a bump to the man.

" Argh! Bastard! Are you blind?"

The person barked loudly as he shoved Spencer to the side.

" Oi! Are you trying to start a fight with this old man?" Spencer didn't let go of the man as he readied his fist. " You think just because I am old, you can bully an elderly person?"

" You-you!"

The man wanted to fight back, but the crowd was thrown into clamor once again.

" It's the Royal Police! The Royal Police is here!"

" Hiss! The Dark Inquisitors are here too!"

A man wearing a radiant blue robe with a helm shouted, his voice booming across the place.

" Civilians, please don't cause chaos. We will evacuate you soon."

While the royal policemen helped to calm the situation, a second group of people went straight to the burning building.

All of them wore armor, with a shining black cloak covering their back. Without any hesitation, they walked into the burning building.

The people suddenly became calm as if they feared these knights more than the royal police themselves.

Spencer was momentarily distracted by the scene, but when his gaze returned, the man was already gone.

Surprised, he was planning to give him a chase before Rowan signaled him from the other side of the road. Spencer understood as he gave up chasing and returned to Rowan's side.

" Young Master, that man escaped."

Rowan chuckled as he turned away. " Let's go back, Uncle Spencer. The work is done."

" It's done?"

Spencer was stunned when he heard that. " The work is done? But we didn't do anything, though?"

" Oh, we did, alright?"

Rowan turned away, " Also, we need to get some flowers for Sister Elena. Hope you didn't forget."

Giving one last look to the chaos, Rowan and Spencer left the scene.

The man ran without any hesitation, clutching the briefcase dear to his life. Not long after, he arrived in a hidden alleyway, without a single soul nearby.

" Haah, Haah…We finally secured the item." The man huffed as he looked at the briefcase.

" Looks like the information I got wasn't wrong at all."

The man was startled as he heard voice of a woman.

" Who?! Who is there?!"

The man suddenly pulled out a knife from his back, swinging it around him.

" Do you know who you are messing with?"

" I know, heretic scum!"

Suddenly, it was as if the darkness around the man turned alive. The man felt a chill on his spine, as if he was being stared by some invisible monster.

" Oh divine one who watches us from the heavenly mountain, protect your believer from the filth of this world."

The man slashed the dagger on his palm, letting the blood splatter on the shiny blade. The dagger seemed to twitch a crimson aura seemed to wrap around its entire body.

" HAARH!"

*SHIING! SHINGG!*

The man swung his dagger as he slashed the presence he felt behind him. The dagger swept against the stone wall, creating a deep cut.

However, the man looked around again and found no one.

" Here you are!"

The man once again felt a presence in the corner of his eyes. He swung the dagger once again, only to stab the empty air.

" Sshhh, it's alright. I will make it swift."

Suddenly, the shadow behind the man seemed to stretch out dark tentacles. With a swift movement, the tentacles wrapped around the man's limbs, making him immobile.

A figure emerged from the shadow, a woman who covered her face with a mask. Waving his hand, a blade of shadow materialized.

Blood splashed as the man's head rolled from his shoulders. Two dark tentacles emerged as they shot into the man's eyeballs, popping them instantly.

" With this, those bastards won't be able to track the scene." The woman muttered as she took the briefcase. With a flick of her hands, she managed to open the seal planted on the back of the suitcase.

" Huh?!"

Turning the briefcase upside down, the woman was stunned as she scrambled inside. However, there was nothing inside!

" Impossible! The seal was still intact when I broke it. How is it possible there is nothing?"

" Damn it! Without it, how am I going to stop the first realm break?"

Late at night, the Aurelius Family estate was still bustling. The entire estate was illuminated by expensive lamps.

" It's already late. What are you two doing out there so long?" Elena grumbled at Spencer and Rowan.

" Hehe, I am sorry, Sister Elena." Rowan gave a wry smile. " Something happened outside at the market, hence we got delayed."

" But here, I have brought you fresh flowers."

Elena was surprised when she saw Rowan presenting him with fresh Violet Mist flowers. With a light hum, she accepted the flowers, a light smile appearing on her lips.

" Hoh, it looks like Rowan has brought some flowers for his Sister in Law, huh?"

Rowan saw Arnold coming from behind, wearing his usual black and red suit. Looking at Elena, he couldn't help but feel that her smile had slightly stiffened.

" Haha, I was out in the market, so I thought to bring back some flowers." Rowan smiled. " Ah, from the market, I remembered something. Do you know, there was a terrorist attack in the market?"

" Looks like some heretic cultist blew himself up in a building. The Royal Police and Inquisitors are there."

" What? Really?" Elena was surprised. " These damned heretics, they are ruining the life of Westford City."

" I hope all of that scums dies."

" Ahem, it's already late," Arnold spoke in a light voice. " Let's talk over dinner, alright?"

Over the dinner table, various dishes were served. As Rowan ate them, he finally understood what was lacking in the food.

' These foods are so light! Not much sugar or salt, the seasoning is also very simple.'
