Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: 20 Minute Game

"Ugh…"

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in the same train and room. Instead, they were not there.

I was alone, it felt solid and plain. I sat up from the ground, looking around before standing up.

To my left, there's a big window. While on my right, there's a small window. I looked at the front to see the door being big and at the back being small.

I thought for a moment,

"This is a game?"

"More like a test"

I pondered,

It was strange to see one being big while the other is small. But wait… Something about this is off. It doesn't seem to be only having 1 side, but.. 2 sides.

2 sides in one room…

I sat on the seat, crossing my arms before falling asleep after a short period. I slept through half of the game, wasting my time sleeping.

I'm not going to look like an idiot trying to figure out the answer while standing. Even if I do look like an idiot, sleeping while in a game of death.

It is a 20 minute game. I can do anything with half of that 20 minutes.

Not even a long period later, I opened my eyes, seeing the time down being 5 minutes down.

I actually didn't sleep at all, because I couldn't. I could only close my eyes and try sleeping because someone had to play a song at full volume for the past few minutes

The song was played with "I'll be your idol" on the first lyric. It was so loud that I could barely sleep, I thought my ears were gonna bleed from how loud that song was.

It is not that I hate it, It has a great tune and would be a banger in modern generations but it was too loud and overused.

Even before this disaster, I'm forced to listen to this song all day while on my phone. I couldn't even walk on one brick without getting interrupted by that song.

If only I could have the option to not hear anything. It would be much easier.

I sighed at the fact that I'm still here, wasting my time sitting while not doing nothing.

I swung my hand to the left and a blue panel appeared. It was to give an answer to the game, and I typed,

Answer:

The side 2 must be fogged up to match with side 1.

It seems to be like that to me, but I'm entirely sure with my answer, I looked down to the 'submit' button and clicked on it.

Even if my answer is wrong, It is better to answer wrong and die than just die without an answer given.

I waited for the result and my answer was at least similar to the actual answer.

A blue panel had appeared after the last and it said,

[ 89% correct! ]

It felt strange,

Why does it give a mark percent? Isn't this game, not an exam?

With that, I was transported to the front of the train. Seeing that Yi Mei Lu and Akiyama Suzu survived made me feel much better again.

Yi Mei Lu noticed me appearing in the room and happily went to give a big hug at me while Akiyama Suzu was smiling at her happiness.

I was surprised with her sudden action, my hand moved to her head. She was at least pleased to see me appearing in the room instead of knowing that I got eliminated from the game

"Mr Xiao! You survive!"

"mhm"

I turned to Akiyama Suzu, with her eyes gazed at Yi Mei Lu. I could tell she was definitely admiring how adorable she is.

I looked around to see the other two guys before wasn't here yet and asked,

"Where's the other two?"

"The other two?"

"They didn't pass the game and was eliminated..."

"Eliminated..."

I pondered,

"So, when is the train going to land in the next place?"

"While we were waiting for you to finish up the game, the system said that we will be given a short rest on the train. first before landing on the next place."

"Really? I guess that's alright"

I didn't expect for the system to be kind enough to give us another rest.

I was talking to her when Yi Mei Lu turned to me and added,

"Mr Xiao, the system was kind to me during the game and gave me three simple math questions!"

"That's good for you since you're only grade 2"

Yi Mei Lu nodded in agreement and her hands slowly slipped away from my waist.

She turned to Akiyama Suzu and ran towards her like a daughter running towards her mom in happiness after a play with her friend.

"Let's go rest, Ms Suzu!"

"Alright,"

They held each other's hands and sat on a seat to take a rest after the game, and so did I.

A long time later, I woke up in the middle of the night because of a dream. I thought of checking the time but my phone was dead at the time.

And not only did I wake up in the middle of the night, but the train was also dark with only the light in the middle being on

Being awake in the middle of the night just gives me gloomy turns.

I then tried to swung my hand to the right and a blue panel suddenly popped up, a blue panel that seemed to be like a menu.

There were options such as, Holo Market, Holo Scenario, Holo Status and Holo Skills.

At the top corner of the blue panel were coins and in each scenario, when I tapped on the plus next to the coins.

it said that you could get 500-1000 coins depending on how much effort you put in your performances throughout the scenario.

[ ! To get more coins, you may need to increase your actions in the performances to entertain the Constellations ! ]

I didn't feel interested in looking more to the coins and so my eyes went to the other selections,

"Hmm... I should try getting access through these."

I thought, clicking on each one of the apps to look for more information, though some were unavailable yet, but it is at least worth to try get some information to survive in a world where humans can't find freedom.
