Chapter 46 - Sakata Gintoki's Play Plan

Although Wandering Souls are very weak monsters, a full-power attack only feels like getting hit on the head with a walnut. But what if hundreds or thousands of them attacked you relentlessly? At that moment, rubbing your head with a grimace, that would be the future you, Jiraiya.

If you could attack the Wandering Souls, you certainly wouldn't just sit there and wait to die when facing the assault of hundreds or thousands of them...

Then, the sore-armed, grimacing Tsunade and Nagato would be the future you.

After asking the seniors, Steve finally understood the whole story, and sighed inwardly that Boss Mu was quite a con artist.

When it comes to important and serious matters, Boss Mu is a very reliable young man. When it comes to some trivial matters, Boss Mu is an unreliable adult man, always forgetting things, either true or false, and those things always end up screwing people over.

It felt like some idle, unscrupulous uncle, deliberately lying to tease little kids for his own amusement.

"So, in your eyes, my image is that of an unscrupulous uncle?" Mu Yang touched his increasingly handsome face.

"Boss Mu, when did you get here?" Steve jumped to the side like a startled little rabbit.

Oh no! Did I just say what I was thinking?!

Steve's heart suddenly raced.

"No, I didn't hear anything!" Mu Yang's lips curved into a gentle smile. "You didn't say what was on your mind."

Then… you can read minds?!

Steve exclaimed internally.

"That's right, that's right, it's mind reading. You think pretty fast! No wonder your imagination is so rich." Mu Yang looked at Steve with admiration.

Steve was covered in cold sweat, his whole body projecting a sense of panic and confusion.

Oh no! Trouble!

I said something bad and the person I was talking about caught me, how should I apologize? Please help, I'm in a hurry!

Mu Yang offered a suggestion: "You definitely have to apologize sincerely!"

"I was wrong!" Steve apologized sincerely.

"It's good to correct your mistakes, you're a good boy." Mu Yang said kindly.

Steve smiled awkwardly. Being praised as a good boy by Mu Yang, who looked younger than him, made the twenty-something-year-old almost petrified with embarrassment.

"Even if you praise me for being young, I won't be happy!" Mu Yang smiled.

Calm down, calm down! Don't think about anything!

Steve covered his mouth in shock.

Mu Yang's gaze turned to the others, who immediately scattered in all directions.

Mu Yang shrugged helplessly.

"I didn't plan to read your minds, but you all ran off so quickly."

He snapped his fingers. Three specially made Humagears materialized out of thin air in the shop, the hospital, and the tavern, taking over the camp's trivial tasks.

At the same time, an invisible light membrane covered the entire dimension. It would alert Mu Yang when a customer visited, and then seal off the dimension, trapping the visiting customer.

After finishing the preparations, Mu Yang took a step forward and vanished without a trace.

As a merchant, Mu Yang always kept his mission in mind: to develop more customers. Sitting idle in the shop was simply too boring. Being a character who liked to be active, Mu Yang couldn't stand being idle. So, he set off again, heading to another world.

Land of Samurai.

That title for our nation is now just a memory.

With the rise of the Amanto who descended from space twenty years ago, coupled with the Sword Prohibition, the samurai have steadily declined. The blue sky that the samurai once yearned for is now filled with alien spaceships, and the streets they once strode with pride are now trod upon by the Amanto.

This is our world, and this is… our city.

In this era, there is a man who harbors the soul of a samurai, and his name is Sakata Gintoki.

And I, Shimura Shinpachi, work at the Odd Jobs Shop run by that reckless, sweets-loving Gintoki, due to various reasons.

I've been working for about half a year, but I haven't really received a proper salary. To be precise, I haven't seen any salary at all.

However, the situation has recently changed. That Gintoki, who always put off paying rent and never paid salaries, actually paid off all the back rent and wages in one go.

Because the truth was so shocking, Otose suspected that Gintoki's days were numbered. She had him rushed to the hospital for a full check-up, which confirmed that Gin-san was as healthy as a bull, except for slightly elevated blood sugar.

Since he wasn't on death's door, the fact that Sakata Gintoki was willing to pay rent and wages was extremely bizarre.

I, Shimura Shinpachi, Otose, and Kagura formed a tribunal to interrogate him about the source of the money.

Gin-san's explanation was that a client had been employing him long-term to collect various interesting (valuable) items, for which he received payment for each.

With a steady income, he could finally pay off the back rent and wages.

Although the three of us were still skeptical, we temporarily spared Sakata Gintoki and decided to secretly investigate his unusual behavior.

That's why Kagura and I, Shimura Shinpachi, were secretly tailing Gin-san.

"Playing pachinko, betting on horses, and drinking at izakayas, that's all he's done for three days! He's clearly not working!"

In the alleyway across from the izakaya, Shinpachi and Kagura hid behind a utility pole, staring at Sakata Gintoki inside the izakaya, and began to complain.

"Shinpachi, look, look, aru, inside the shop." Kagura gently patted Shinpachi's shoulder.

"Hmm?" Shinpachi raised his right hand to adjust his glasses, squinting as he looked into the shop. A very handsome young man walked into the izakaya and sat down next to Agin, the two of them seemed quite familiar with each other.

Is he a friend of Agin's from the past? Confirming that he didn't recognize the person, Shinpachi speculated, or perhaps a client who hired Agin.

Mu Yang glanced at the alleyway across from the izakaya, then calmly looked away without saying anything, and continued chatting with Sakata Gintoki, "I plan to stay in this world for a while, how about you be my guide, as a local?"

"My pleasure." What else could Sakata Gintoki say? Of course, he'd obediently be a tour guide! Was there even a second option? "Alright, I'll leave the travel plans entirely to you. We'll go wherever you suggest, and if you satisfy me, I'll pay you." Mu Yang made it clear he wasn't freeloading.

"No problem, leave it to me! I guarantee you'll be satisfied." Sakata Gintoki thumped his sturdy chest, full of confidence.

What about the pachinko parlor, the horse racing track, the Jouishishi discussion meeting… Huh! Gintoki quickly shook his head, shaking off the chaotic thoughts that uncontrollably popped into his head.

If I took Boss Mu to those places… emmm, it doesn't seem like there'd be a problem, huh!

Yep, no problem.

Add it to the plan, add it to the plan. The hostess clubs and the transvestite clubs are also going in the plan, they're a specialty of Kabuki District!

Emmmm, should we add the male host clubs to the itinerary?
