As hurried footsteps echoed through the floor, Rafe straightened his back.

Only one person would come rushing in like that, so he wasn't surprised when the familiar scent of Chad's perfume filled his nostrils.

All of a sudden, a sharp thud echoed and he quickly grabbed his cane, alert as he called out, "Help?"

After the accident, his other senses heightened. Thus, over the last year, he had learnt to tell people's actions from the sounds produced.

So it only took him a few seconds to realize someone was crawling across the floor.

Taking off his glasses, he turned his face slightly to listen more closely.

"Help, is that you?"

Chad, unable to speak because of the system's command, stayed silent until he reached Rafe and carefully placed his head on the man's open palm.

"I'm here."

At the sudden skin contact, Rafe stiffened, while Chad sucked in his teeth.

He finally understand something about the system.
