"Overlord seems to be in a good mood today,"an elder mumbled and the others are nodded frantically in agreement. The demon king was literally brimming with joy and everyone could see that. For the first time he didn't threaten anyone during the meeting. He gave everyone a chance to express themselves in the meeting room and gave them his full attention. Some actually assumed he had been bewitched.

After the court meeting,he mustered Mu Zixin to the study to help him figure out how his grew back.
"Actually Immortal Lv Chengxin gave me the Wing Regeneration Powder a long time ago. When you asked I was still trying to recall where exactly I had placed it."
"You carried it everywhere?"
"I used to carry several medicines everywhere when I had my spiritual prowess so before I lost it I retrieved them."
"But don't think because you helped me get my wings back I'll let you go. You all deceived me and almost got rid of me. I still haven't settled that score with you and those immortals,"Tiao Ge threatened moving closer to the other. For every step Tiao Ge took towards him,Mu Zixin took another step backwards till the immortal was pressed against the wall with the demon king hovering over him with an intimidating gaze.
"Overlord..." Hei Yin's words got stuck in his throat seeing their currents positions.
"What is it?"
"Mr Ai is here to see you,"Hei Yin croaked.
"Let him in."
Tiao Ge moved away from the immortal and dismissed him.
When Ai Shi Si walked in,Tiao Ge was standing behind the table,his posture hunched as he held a painting brush.Well apart from killing his haters and playing chess,the demon king had other hobbies as well like painting and he was a good one.
"I heard you got your wings back,"Ai Shi Si started.
"Mm."
"How did it happen?"
"It's a secret,"he replied subtly .
"I haven't seen you painting for while."
"That's because I've found a perfect muse," Tiao Ge replied without deviating his gaze from the canvas.
"Anyway I'm here to tell you that the construction of the school is doing great."

"My Lord,the construction of the school is complete. They announced there's going to be an entrance exam,"Fei Ling informed her master.
"Get a few of our men to join the school. If those weak demons cultivate themselves well,then you can extract their demon cores for me. That way I'll regain some of my power."
"Yes. About that panacea that requires immortals' wings , what's your plan?"
"Uh...do you have any suggestions?"
"To be able to acquire their wings we need more than a few spies. We need someone strong to help us. I've long heard of Situ Xuanye ,a divine immortal . He's Lord Lingyun's best friend and he has always played second fiddle to him in everything. No one likes to be in the second position. I'm sure he has some dark side I just have to test him."
"How will you test him?"
"In a few days,the immortal realm will be appointing the new Supreme Leader and that day they'll be too busy with the ceremony to monitor everything closely. Right now I'm at almost reaching the fifth cultivation level. I'm sure I can disguise myself and enter the immortal realm."
"Perfect,my good disciple,"Mo Yan's lips stretched into an evil smile.

In the quiet of the night,Tiao Ge strode towards Mu Zixin's room with Hei Yin trailing behind him quietly. The two stealthily stepped inside the room.
Tiao Ge perched himself at the edge of the bed ,did an incantation to make sure the other couldn't hear their movements then evocated a bowl and carefully placed a shiny medium sized crystal on it. Hei Yin had another container with ink inside - soul ink essense,made from night blooming flowers and phoenix ash.
Using his finger, he drew a sigil on the target's forehead. He placed the crystal gently against the marked forehead and chanted in a low voice. While Mu Zixin breathed softly in his slumber,the crystal absorbed a pulse of his primal energy. A faint glow was seen confirming the bond.
From that moment on,the crystal will shimmer white when Mu Zixin is safe and turn black when danger encroaches.
These crystals- the Shadow Life crystals were made by Tiao Ge himself to protect his loved ones. He always placed them in a pouch, checking them from time to time. So far only three people had the privilege of being linked to the crystals - Tiao Xueli,Hei Yin and Ai Shi Si. Mu Zixin had now joined them making a total of four crystals. Hei Yin watched silently as his master performed the small ritual. He knew how Tiao Ge secretly treasured Mu Zixin ever since they met in the mortal realm when he was young.
But the demon king would never admit it. He hid behind the disguise of loathing immortals but Mu Zixin was always an exception and even after what happened at the Guangshan Platform he couldn't bring himself to kill the immortal .
"Overlord why can't you admit that you're worried about his safety because of the entrance exam at Guisha Forest tomorrow?" Hei Yin suddenly blurted out his thoughts without realizing. His heart thundered in his chest,his hand covered his mouth while his eyes widened in shock.
