When Tiao Ge revealed the venue of the entrance exam, everyone thought he was crazy. What made him seem even crazier was the time he had allocated for the test to take place. The test was to be carried out at the Zi hour-; literally midnight. And the venue was Guisha Forest. The forest creeped the hell out of people during the day let alone at night. It was known to be the natural habitat of wild ,dangerous creatures like wolves. Weak demons could never survive in such a place. Furthermore the forest was somehow ruled out as a forbidden place.Sometimes Mu Zixin wondered what was going on in his master's mind. The man could be a cold but considerate demon king one minute and the next minute he would turn into some ruthless cunning creature.
During his free time,Mu Zixin spent his time packing medicines and antidotes and some secret poisons for self defense since he was powerless right now. When the time for departure came he left the room to head to the forest.
"Zixin," Tiao Ge called him out . The latter who had just stepped out of the palace hall turned around to face his master.
"Overlord."
"If you pass the entrance exam, I'll let you go back to the immortal realm," Tiao Ge said his eyes scanning the other's face. Mu Zixin's eyes sparkled with surprise,"Really?"
Tiao Ge nodded.
"Take this," Tiao Ge handed him a sword.
Mu Zixin unsheathed it, studying it. For some reason he felt nostalgic thinking about his beloved Tiandi Sword. It wasn't just a sword. It wasn't just an object in his possession,it was something significant to him, something he had developed a strong connection with.
"Then I'll take my leave," Mu Zixin heaved a sigh and turned away on his heel walking away from the place. But will Tiao Ge really let him go back?
--------------
When Mu Zixin arrived at the site, they were other demons there as well. Tiao Ge had predicted that most demons would never show up because of the hazardness of the place and most of them hadn't fully accepted the idea of going to school so he presented three gifts; three rare exilirs known to enhance demonic energy to lure them in. Now that was the motivation that led numerous demons to show up at the place. Some were wearing rugged clothes, others reeked of sweat and Mu Zixin found himself sandwiched between them,a mixture of different natural odours hitting his nostrils like a wave. He felt like he would suffocate and collapse the next minute. Fortunately,Ai Shi Si showed up to explain the rules of the game and what was expected of them.
The entrance exam ,was a maze game set in the dense, eerie Guisha forest filled with wild creatures and obstacles. The maze was designed to assess one's ability to navigate through a treacherous terrain, avoid deadly creatures, and solve problems under pressure.
The goal was to navigate through the forest and reach the exit, marked by a glowing crystal.
The forest was divided into four sections, each with its own unique challenges and creatures:
Shadow Thicket; a dense thicket of dark, twisted trees and shadowy creatures that can blend into the surroundings.
Glimmering Grotto;Aasection filled with bioluminescent plants and creatures that can either guide or mislead players.
Razor Ridge; a rocky area with steep cliffs and razor-sharp plants that required players to be agile and cautious.
Moonlit Meadow; a seemingly peaceful area under the light of the full moon, but beware of the creatures that come out at night. Yes,Tiao Ge had chosen this particular day because he knew there would be a full moon.
Challenges and Obstacles were that; throughout the maze, players would encounter various challenges and obstacles, including:
-wild creatures; from giant spiders to packs of glowing-eyed wolves, players were to avoid or outsmart these creatures to survive.
-environmental hazards; Steep cliffs, fast-moving rivers, and treacherous terrain can all posed a threat to players.
- puzzles; players would encounter puzzles that require them to use their knowledge of the forest and its creatures to progress.
Rules and Scoring were based on ;
-Time limit : players had an hour to complete the maze.
- Score; players earn points for completing each section and solving puzzles.
- Penalties; players would lose points for encountering creatures (unless they find a way to safely avoid or outsmart them) or failing to solve puzzles within a certain time limit.
The major taboo was to never approach the cave where Mo Yan had been sealed. Those who dare to do to would be disqualified from the exam.
Using the provided map,Mu Zixin navigated through the place following the designed.
"Bro, aren't you scared to walk alone?" a cheerful male voice asked .
"Aren't you alone as well?" Mu Zixin countered.
"My name is Liang Bo, what about you?" the demon with a radiant smile introduced himself.
Mu Zixin stared at him blankly, barely giving a reaction.
"What's your name?" Liang Bo asked taking the initiative to continue the conversation.
"Mu Zixin."
"Beautiful name. Can we trek together?" Liang Bo asked expectantly.
"Sure,"Mu Zixin shrugged and turned to leave. Liang Bo followed him like an excited puppy .
They trekked surreptitiously, their eyes and ears ever alert till Mu Zixin caught the sound of heavy approaching footsteps. Judging from the sound, they belonged to an animal, not just a small animal but am enormous one.
"It's a wolf!"Liang Bo whisper - shouted.
"It's coming this way. Climb the tree,"Mu Zixin whispered back. They both scrambled to the nearest tree to avoid the wolf. But as Liang Bo ascended the tree,he saw a large snake already resting up in the tree. Unable to contain his fear,he screamed and slid down the tree uncontrollably, screaming at the top of his lungs and the wolf clearly registered the sounds.
