1. FINE To Not Fine

The air Hung heavy with the scent of lilies and sorrow. At the funeral, a small figure, sat

alone, his shoulders shaking with silent, profound grief. This was son oh -gong, a boy stripped bare by the death of his mouther. He cried until his throat was raw, aware that not a single soul present truely shared his pain.

His father stood apart, a cold, calculating presence whose only interest was the wealth the boy was due to inherit. The father was waiting to take everything. This profound deliberate betrayal was the source of son oh -gongs bone -deep loneliness. Form a distance, Hiddlen by the shadow of a large oak tree, an unidentified person watched the boy. They didn't move or make a sound; they simply observed.

A little later, when they were back in the relative quiet of the classroom, Jin Seon -mi turned to him. "Do you have something against him? Did he threaten you?"she watched his passive face, then quickly added,"He didn't threaten me. You really shouldn't have gotten between us. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that."
