Chapter 10 - chapter 10 , Eli family

Las sprints toward the infirmary, determination burning in his eyes.

Eli chases after him, grabbing onto his shirt, desperately trying to hold him back.

Eli (panicked, whisper-shouting):

"Stop! If they catch us—do you even know what'll happen?!"

Las (gritting his teeth, resolute):

"I don't care… I need to know!"

With a fierce tug, he breaks free and dives straight into the narrow opening beside the infirmary.

Eli curses under her breath, then squeezes in after him.

Las and Eli squeeze through the opening and slip into the interior of the clinic.

The room inside is dark, the lights all shut off.

Large white curtains hang over the windows, shrouding the space in dim silence.

Shelves line the walls, stacked with medicine bottles and various medical books.

On a counter lie scattered animal X-rays, old projectors, and all sorts of instruments—everything you'd expect to find in a small hospital.

The air reeks of medicine… and blood.

Las glances down. On the white floor of the clinic, crimson stains smear across the tiles—mixed with scattered eagle feathers.

Las (whispering, wide-eyed):

"E-Eli… look at this… it's blood."

Eli shudders, goosebumps racing up her arms. Her voice trembles with fear.

Eli:

"Let's get out of here, Las… this place—it freaks me out."

But Las clenches his fists, his tone burning with stubborn resolve.

Las (defiant):

"No. I'm not leaving."

Eli snaps, her fear twisting into anger.

Eli (hissing):

"Stop being such an empty-headed idiot! Let's just go!"

Las (shaking his head, louder):

"No, no, no, no!"

Eli throws her gaze upward in frustration.

Eli (grumbling):

"Stupid monkey-boy…"

Suddenly—voices echo from beneath the clinic's basement.

Unseen voices below:

"Hold him down!"

"I'm trying!"

"We're losing the pulse—quick, bring the defibrillator! We need to shock him now!"

Las jolts, fear flashing in his eyes.

Las (panicked):

"They caught us?!"

Eli smacks his arm, whispering sharply.

Eli (through gritted teeth):

"No, idiot—not yet!"

But before she can stop him, Las bolts for the stairwell, rushing down toward the underground chamber.

Eli's face flushes red with fury as she chases after him.

Eli (seething):

"If my parents catch us here and ban me from training… I swear, Las, I'll never talk to you again!"

Las bursts into the underground chamber—

and his eyes widen in awe.

There, stretched across a massive bed, lies the giant eagle.

Eli's parents fight desperately to keep him alive, their hands trembling as they work.

Without thinking, Las takes a step forward, slowly walking toward the bed.

But suddenly—Eli grabs him by the shirt with all her strength and drags him back behind a stack of medical crates.

Eli (furious whisper):

"What do you think you're doing, stupid monkey-boy?!"

Las (in shock, eyes wide):

"I've never seen a creature like this before… only in fairy tale books. I have to get closer."

Eli (exasperated, grinding her teeth):

"I can't stand you anymore! Because of your stupidity, I'm going to lose my training with Master Sifu!"

Las throws her a mischievous grin, his tone cartoonish and mocking.

Las (teasing):

"Training? What for? Even the punching bag has more strength than you."

Eli's face twitches, her fists clenching.

Eli (snapping):

"You want me to show you who's stronger, gorilla-boy?!"

Las (angrily):

"I'm not a gorilla… short cat!"

The two start bickering and shoving each other.

Meanwhile, Eli's father pauses mid-surgery.

Eli's Father (suspicious):

"Did you hear something?"

Eli's mother lifts her head, sniffing the air sharply. Her eyes narrow.

Eli's Mother:

"…Eli?"

In the middle of their quarrel, Las accidentally knocks over a stack of medical crates with his hand.

CRASH! The loud noise echoes through the chamber.

Both parents whip their heads around—spotting Las and Eli crouched together.

Las (frozen, panicked):

"S-sorry! Sorry, sorry!"

Eli squeezes her eyes shut, screaming in frustration.

Eli:

"STUPID MONKEEEEY!"

Her parents glare at them, fury in their eyes.

Eli's Father

"Roza…"

Eli's Mother:

"Yes Carol ?"

Eli's Father (grim):

"Call Sifu… and Grov. Immediately."

Eli's Father, (to the children, shouting):

"NOW!"
