Edith immediately rushed to the Psoniconians and punched psoniconian researcher in the chest and a sound of bones breaking was heard.
The psoniconian researcher was hurled into the wall of the pathway.
The other tamaraneans also followed Edith's lead and attacked the group of psoniconians.
The psoniconian group finally reacted as one psoniconian pulled out a strange cubic device and pressed it making an alarm to be activated in the entire arena.
I turned and I saw a psoniconian gunner pull out a gun shaped like object which he used to pull a trigger making the gun shaped like object to produce a laser.
Yep it was a laser gun.
The laser shot hit a tamaranean in the chest causing burns to appear.
Before the psoniconian gunner could shot again, I ran to him and I sweep-kicked him causing him to fall down.
I quickly snatched the laser gun from him and I shot him in the chest.
The laser shot left a hole in the psoniconian's chest and he stopped moving.
I looked at the psoniconian's dead corpse and I could not feel any sympathy, I guess I lost any shred of mercy I would have had towards them after seeing all the tamaranean corpse that they had killed in a cruel and disgusting manner.
I kept the laser gun and searched for Edith amidst the area that had now become a battlefield.
I saw Edith in a few seconds and she was fighting 5 psoniconian gunners and she did not seem to be on the losing end.
She was actually pushing them back 'Guess she is not the tamaraneans commander for nothing.'
I thought then looked at the tamaranean I had just saved from the psoniconian gunner and his injuries were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Since he was doing alright and did not need protection, I made my way to Edith and supported her by shooting the psoniconian gunners who were fighting her.
With our coordination, me and Edith managed to kill the 5 psoniconian ginners who were fighting her.
I turned to observe the situation with the tamaraneans and discovered that they had also killed the remaining psoniconians.
As I was still looking around me to further observe the situation, I heard noise coming from one end of the pathway so I closed my eyes and focused on my ears which invoked my super hearing.
I heard a large number of psoniconians rushing towards us and I also heard heavy footsteps mixed in the psoniconian crowd heading our way.
I opened my eyes and told Edith "A large number of psoniconians are rushing towards us.
She replied "It must be because of the alarm."
"What shall we do now commander?" A tamaranean asked.
Edith responded in an explosive voice "There is no more use in trying to escape silently so we are going to force our way out."
"We need to arm ourselves with weapons because using our fists alone will only get us captured again." I stated
"That's even easier." Edith responded
"All troops, arm yourselves with weapons of your fallen enemies and follow me to freedom."
Edith ordered and a fire to escape and attain freedom was lit in the eyes of the tamaraneans.
Edith and the other tamaraneans got airborne and flew towards the place were I heard the psoniconians coming from.
I also got airborne and flew with the tamaraneans to get more familiar with my flying powers.
Good thing my body was still getting stronger so I could keep up with the tamaranean's flight speed.
As we were flying, I focused my eyes to look in the direction the psoniconians were coming from and I saw everything in that direction suddenly magnify.
I focused my eyes further and I saw through the walls until I saw the psoniconians rushing towards our direction.
Among the psoniconians that were rushing towards us, I saw a group of 6-metre-tall mechs also rushing towards us.
The mech were purely robots so am guessing that there is a central panel where we can switch them off or better yet, destroy them.
I flew closer to Edith and told her about the mechs.
"You probably have not been on the battlefield." She responded
She then continued to explain "Those mechs as you call them were made over 5 metres tall and strong to fight aliens with strong physical bodies in battle."
"Do those mechs have any weakness?" I asked Edith
She replied after taking some time to think "No they do not but they do have a core in their heads."
Edith continued "if you manage destroy their cores located in their heads then you can consider the dead."
I stopped asking Edith questions because we were now approaching the psoniconians.
As soon as the tamaraneans caught sight of the approaching psoniconians, they attacked with all their might.
The psoniconians also attacked the tamaraneans and they had gunners with more fierce looking laser guns.
I pulled back from the front and started using the laser gun I acquired from the psoniconian I had killed previously to shoot at the psoniconians.
Unfortunately, I discovered that I was not such a good shooter as I was trying to headshot the psoniconians.
I even shot a tamaranean accidentally in the back in the process.
Good thing the shot only managed to injure the tamaranean's back before healing back.
As we were fighting in the battle, a tamaranean was hurled past me and got crushed into the wall.
The tamaranean was brutally crushed and stopped moving, he was dead.
I looked in the direction from which the tamaranean was hurled from and I saw on of the mechs fighting against a group of tamaraneans.
The tamaraneans fighting the mech were on the losing end of the fight and some of them were even crushed after getting stamped on by the mech.
i looked around the battlefield and saw I saw that the other tamaraneans' situation was no different especially coupled with the psoniconian gunners adding pressure with their shooting.
The tamaraneans were definitely going to get killed after some more time if the situation continued.
I looked for Edith and found her fighting a mech singlehandedly.
She was mainly using her skills to evade the mech's attacks but doing nothing apart from evading the mech's attacks will only tire her out.
I decided to help Edith first because my chances of escape will be higher with her so I raised my arms which were holding the laser gun and aimed.
I shoot 5 consecutive laser shoots.
The good thing is that I have an advantage over the mech in regards to size since it's like a moving target but to my demise, the laser shoots did not damage the mech in any way.
In fact, shooting the mech just made me get it's attention which was kind of intimidating considering the unfortunate tamaraneans that were crushed by it.
I tried retreating to the back but the mech kept on chasing me like it had locked on me.
Unbeknown to me, I was running in the direction of another mech.
The other mech noticed me approaching so it ran towards me.
By the time I noticed that something was wrong, it was already too late.
