BONUS CHAPTER

Over the next few days, Alex toured countless office buildings with his real estate agent, but none of them captured his vision for Stormwind Studios. Every corporate tower felt sterile and constraining—the kind of environment that stifled creativity rather than fostering it.

Traditional office spaces seemed designed to suppress imagination and maintain rigid hierarchies. Alex wanted something completely different for his team, a workspace that would inspire innovation rather than corporate conformity.

"What if we found a house instead?" Alex mused during one particularly disappointing tour of a glass-and-steel monument to bureaucracy. "A large villa with character and natural light, somewhere people would actually want to spend time."

He imagined his developers working in spaces that felt like home rather than cubicle farms. Maybe they could even have office pets—a few cats to provide stress relief, and definitely a dog for security. Something with personality and protective instincts.

Alex called his agent immediately with the new parameters. The poor man nearly wept with joy—residential properties in Alex's price range meant commissions that could fund his retirement.

The agent worked efficiently, compiling a list of suitable properties within days. But Alex's standards proved exacting. Houses were either too small, poorly laid out, or located in areas that lacked the right combination of accessibility and ambiance.

After a week of fruitless searching, the agent pulled out his company's most challenging listing.

"Mr. Morrison, I have one more option," he said hesitantly. "It's been on the market for over a year with no serious interest. But if this doesn't work, I'm not sure what will."

The property listing made Alex's eyes widen. $200 million for a 15,000-square-foot modern villa built just three years earlier. The architecture was striking—clean lines, extensive glass work, and a sophisticated blend of gray and white that looked both elegant and approachable.

The location was exceptional: lakefront property within the city limits, with mountain views and proximity to major business districts. The owner lived abroad and had barely used the property, so everything remained in pristine condition.

"Let's see it," Alex said immediately.

The villa exceeded even the listing photos. The main living area soared to nearly thirty-foot ceilings, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking an infinity pool that seemed to merge with the lake beyond. The landscaping was magazine-perfect, with manicured gardens transitioning into natural lakefront.

"Excellent choice, Mr. Morrison," the agent said, though Alex could sense his skepticism about a twenty-something actually affording such a property. "This neighborhood is home to entertainment industry leaders and other successful entrepreneurs."

"I'll take it," Alex announced after a thirty-minute walkthrough.

The agent's professional composure cracked entirely. This single transaction would exceed his typical annual earnings. More importantly, he'd finally moved the company's most expensive white elephant.

"Could I ask what your company does?" the agent ventured hopefully. "Any chance you're hiring?"

"We develop VR games," Alex replied. "But we're fully staffed at the moment."

"Your employees are incredibly fortunate," the agent continued. "Working in an environment like this—they'd probably be happy without salaries!"

Two days later, Alex signed the purchase agreement and received the keys to Stormwind Studios' new headquarters. The Infinite Realms revenue transfer had hit his accounts that morning, making the $200 million purchase feel almost routine.

Immediately after closing, Alex hired contractors to adapt the villa for office use. The modifications were extensive but thoughtful: bedrooms converted to conference rooms and private offices, the living area transformed into collaborative workspace, bathrooms updated for higher capacity.

Interior walls were replaced with glass partitions to maintain openness while providing acoustic privacy. The original gym and entertainment areas were upgraded with better equipment. The gourmet kitchen became a full-service break room and café.

Throughout the renovation, Alex preserved the villa's residential character. Instead of sterile corporate furniture, he chose comfortable seating and warm lighting. His extensive collection of gaming memorabilia found new homes throughout the office, creating conversation pieces that reflected the company's culture.

Four days later, the transformation was complete.

"Holy shit, Alex," Jake said during the inaugural tour. "Two hundred million for an office. You've literally redefined workplace luxury."

"This is insane," Danny added, exploring the converted entertainment lounge. "Your employees are going to think they're on permanent vacation."

"That's kind of the point," Alex explained. "I want people excited to come to work, not counting down to five o'clock. If we're going to compete with corporate giants, we need to offer something they can't."

"Your team has no idea how good they have it," Jake continued. "Are you hiring? I'm suddenly interested in career changes."

"I couldn't afford you," Alex laughed.

"Try me—I work cheap!"

"Actually," Alex said, shifting gears, "there is something you could help with. I'm planning our next major project, and it's right in your wheelhouse."

"What kind of project?"

"A racing-themed dungeon for Infinite Realms. We'll need authentic automotive culture, technical accuracy, and gameplay that captures what actual racing enthusiasts love about the sport. Want to be our consulting expert?"

Jake's face lit up. "Are you serious? You're making a racing game?"

"Dead serious. And I'll pay consulting rates."

"Forget the money—I'd do this for free. When do we start?"

Danny appeared beside them with obvious FOMO. "What about me? Do you need consultants for nightlife culture? I'm definitely qualified to advise on upscale entertainment venues."

Alex looked at his friend for a long moment, then delivered his response with deadpan precision: "Pass."
