Chapter 44: Fifty Pieces of Divine Metal, Long Xingyu's Questions, Rest
"It's done. One hundred percent fusion—and with the Six-Winged Angel's power added in, this can now truly be called divine metal."
"In the future, whether it's One-Word up to Four-Word, or even the so-called Six-Word Battle Armor, I can use this as a base for forging. There won't be much difficulty either—metal with this level of fusion is terrifying. Judging by the light aura it contains, it's also perfectly compatible with light-element knights."
"Next, I can begin the actual forging."
Ye Ling murmured softly.
Then he proceeded to the next phase.
Once a spirit alloy is successfully forged, if the fusion rate exceeds sixty percent, it can skip Hundred Refinement and go straight to Thousand Refinement.
Ye Ling didn't hesitate and began the Thousand Refinement.
In a flash—
Second Grade Thousand Refinement.
First Grade Thousand Refinement.
Spirit-Infused Thousand Refinement. Half-step Spirit Refinement—fully completed by Ye Ling.
But that was the limit.
Ye Ling didn't go further. What he was forging was One-Word Battle Armor, which only required spirit alloy at the Thousand Refinement level. The half-step Spirit-Refined First Grade was already its upper limit.
Still, that wasn't an issue.
In the future, it could always be upgraded, and the One-Word Battle Armor could be advanced to Two-Word.
"Let's keep forging. Time isn't pressing, so I might as well refine a large number of Jade Silver pieces now. That way, I can focus directly on crafting my battle armor later."
Ye Ling spoke quietly to himself.
Forging battle armor was a complex task. According to standard rules, it required inscription engraving and many other steps before completion.
However, from the Divine Craftsman's Notes, Ye Ling had discovered alternative methods—something he planned to experiment with later.
But for now, creating enough refined alloy was the priority.
Soon, he became fully absorbed in forging rare metals again.
He still had plenty of the rare metals he had collected earlier.
By the time the night passed—
Ye Ling's forging was completely finished.
One night. Half a day. Roughly twelve hours. Ye Ling had forged nearly fifty pieces of special divine Jade Silver, each in near-perfect condition, exactly meeting his specifications.
"Although I recover innate internal spiritual power quite quickly, after a full night, even I've nearly run dry. I'll stop here and rest for a bit. Once I'm recovered, I'll begin forging the individual parts of the battle armor."
Ye Ling murmured.
Then he said no more, storing away the pile of rare metals and his forging tools.
It was over.
Turning around, he saw Cai'er already sound asleep, Long Haochen looking thrilled as if he had learned a great deal, and Long Xingyu walking toward him silently.
Long Xingyu soon reached him and took out a sixth-rank pill from his storage tool—one that replenished spiritual energy and dispelled fatigue.
He handed it to Ye Ling.
Ye Ling didn't hesitate and swallowed it on the spot.
He then began using the power of his Six-Winged Angel martial soul to replenish his internal spiritual energy.
"Earlier, when you were forging, what was that Light Goddess figure behind you? What is your innate internal spiritual power level? Are you the Son of Light?" Long Xingyu didn't hold back—he asked bluntly and directly.
It was fast.
So fast that Ye Ling didn't quite catch it all at first.
A bit helplessly, he thought to himself—he had known it. Just showing his martial soul and releasing such concentrated, nearly-liquid light-element energy of such high quality was bound to draw Long Xingyu's attention.
"Yeah, I am the Son of Light." Ye Ling nodded, not bothering to hide it. At this point, nothing he said would convince Long Xingyu otherwise, and truthfully, he had never intended to conceal it for long. From the moment Long Xingyu tried to summon the Judgment Throne to arrest him, Ye Ling had already accepted him.
"Innate internal spiritual power at ninety points—the Son of Light?" Long Xingyu asked again for confirmation.
"Ninety is indeed the threshold for a Son of Light," Ye Ling replied calmly. "But I don't have just ninety points. According to calculations from back then, my innate internal spiritual power is one hundred points."
At those words, Long Xingyu couldn't help but suck in a cold breath.
One hundred points.
Seriously? Are you even human?
One hundred points of innate internal spiritual power.
Before he could finish reeling from that, Long Xingyu quickly asked another question: "And the angel behind you? What was that about?"
"Is that something all Sons of Light possess?"
"I haven't met other Sons of Light," Ye Ling answered honestly, "but I can assure you—that is not something all Sons of Light have. If nothing unexpected happens, I'm probably the only one in this world who possesses it."
Hearing that, Long Xingyu wanted to ask more, but after thinking it over, he gave up.
He simply nodded and gestured for Ye Ling to go about his own business.
Ye Ling said nothing more and quietly walked over to Cai'er. Seeing her peacefully asleep, her face relaxed and drooling a little, he couldn't help but smile.
Sensing Ye Ling's presence nearby, Cai'er slowly stirred from her sleep. With sleep-filled eyes, she looked up at him and said, "Morning, Brother Ye Ling."
Still half-asleep.
But it wasn't her fault—this was the first good sleep she'd had since she was three. Every other night had been disturbed by the pain of the Reincarnation Trials.
Even when she wasn't fully awake, she would twitch in pain from it in her dreams.
Ye Ling knew all this, and his heart ached for her. Watching her wake up so adorably, completely unaware of anything, he gently pinched her little nose.
"Good morning," he said, then reached out to softly pat her head.
A moment later, Ye Ling looked toward Long Haochen, who now had stars in his eyes as he stared at Ye Ling.
"Brother Ye! Can you teach me that fusion forging now?" he asked, full of excitement. "I want to learn!"
"Have you learned Thousand Refinement yet?" Ye Ling asked.
"No. I've mastered the basics of Hundred Refinement, but I still can't step into Thousand Refinement. I asked Teacher Xingyu, and he said maybe it's because my internal spiritual power hasn't awakened yet. Is that true?" Long Haochen asked, confused.
"That's right. Spiritual power is the foundation of Thousand Refinement. And Thousand-Refined First Grade is the foundation of Spirit Refinement. To forge high-quality fused spirit alloy, you must first be capable of Thousand Refinement. So even if I teach you now, you won't be able to learn it. Focus on building a solid foundation for now."
Ye Ling's tone was calm and patient. Though he didn't want to discourage Long Haochen, it was important to set the right expectations.
Long Haochen was clearly disheartened, but after a moment, he nodded firmly with renewed determination.
Seeing the light of resolve rekindle in Long Haochen's eyes—
Ye Ling didn't say much more. He simply found a place to sit and finally allowed himself to rest.
After an entire night of forging, he was thoroughly exhausted. Though he could keep going, there was no need to push himself unnecessarily.
