{VIVIENNE'S POV}
I couldn't believe my ears.
Her voice still echoed throughout the entire square, and for a heartbeat, the entire world seemed to freeze.
We were in Heron. The heart of the kingdom. Guards stood at every gate, Severance hunters were crawling along the rooftops, the King and Queen were sitting in their thrones like gods above us, the other nobles lined in jewels and silks.
Thousands of eyes, and in the middle of an execution, Aurora screamed for it all to stop.
Every single head turned, and all eyes fell on her.
My blood ran cold.
Kai's jaw dropped. Eden's pale face seemed even whiter than usual. Giselle's hands covered her mouth. We were all stunned into silence.
All around us, people started to murmur, whisper and point fingers.
I snapped out of it first. My hand shot out, clutching Aurora's wrist so hard my nails dug into her skin. I hissed under my breath, desperate, "Aurora, what have you done?!" my voice barely audible over the mounting murmurs.
