Chapter 10 - Chapter 19 & 20

Chapter 19: I Succeeded

Two hours passed.

During that time, Souta continued to practice sensing Chakra within his body, with the help of Pakura.

For most people, sensing Chakra might only take a few dozen minutes to an hour. However, for Souta, this was a new and very exciting experience. Souta was eager to ensure that he truly understood the sensation before moving on to the next stage.

For Souta, this was not just a mere practice.

This was the beginning of Souta's long journey as a Shinobi.

After two hours of practicing to sense Chakra, Souta finally opened his eyes slowly. His vision was still a bit blurry from the long meditation he had just undergone, but a strange feeling enveloped him. Souta's body felt lighter, as if something was flowing within him, something he had never felt before.

Souta took a deep breath, inhaling the warm afternoon air. A gentle breeze blew softly, stirring the dust around them, creating a soothing rustling sound. The blue sky stretched wide above him, without a cloud to block the sunlight shining on the desert land of Sunagakure.

A small smile formed on Souta's face. He felt different. Not in a physical sense, but within himself, there was something that felt more alive.

With a sense of curiosity, Souta quickly rose from his position. His body was a bit stiff from sitting too long, but he decided to ignore it. His gaze immediately focused on Pakura, who had been watching him with her arms folded in front of her chest.

Souta looked at Pakura and then smiled faintly.

"I succeeded," Souta said, his voice filled with the confidence he had just discovered. "So, what's the next step?"

However, Souta then realized something. Even though he had succeeded in sensing something different within his body, he still did not understand how Pakura had made him experience that.

"Wait," Souta said again, now with a confused expression. "How did you make me feel Chakra?"

Pakura looked at Souta with a strange expression. Her eyebrows furrowed, as if she had just heard something absurd.

"You really don't remember anything about this?" Pakura asked in a flat tone. "Wasn't this taught during the Ninja Academy Entrance Exam?"

Souta fell silent.

Oh, damn...

Souta couldn't answer that question honestly. The truth was, he had no memory of what was taught at the Ninja Academy.

Not because Souta was stupid or inattentive in class, but because the Souta who was here now was not the original child of this world. Souta was a man who had reincarnated into the body of a child named Souta. However, the memories of the original owner of this body were incomplete—only vague fragments that were not enough to give Souta a comprehensive understanding of this world.

So, when Pakura mentioned the Ninja Academy Entrance Exam, Souta truly had no idea how to respond.

Souta could only smile awkwardly and scratch his head.

Pakura continued to stare at Souta with an expression of disbelief, as if she couldn't comprehend how someone who had already entered the Ninja Academy could forget the basics of Chakra.

However, for Souta, Pakura's confusion was something understandable.

In his previous life, Souta was someone who did not particularly enjoy interacting with others. He preferred to be alone, spending time with his own thoughts, and rarely initiated conversations.

However, there was one major exception: when Souta discovered something interesting.

If Souta found something that truly captured his attention, something that piqued his curiosity, he would not hesitate to talk to anyone to learn about it. Even with strangers.

...

Chapter 20: A Sentence

Souta remembered a sentence he had heard in his previous life:

"Even if you are an introvert who prefers to be alone, when you are truly interested in something, be an extrovert who bravely starts the conversation first to learn it well."

And that was what was happening now.

Souta was not very comfortable talking to others, especially a child like Pakura. However, in order to understand Chakra, to become stronger, Souta suppressed his discomfort and tried to speak more openly.

Because in this world, strength is everything.

If Souta wanted to survive, he had to learn about Chakra. And if that meant he had to talk more with others, then Souta would do it without hesitation.

Pakura finally let out a long sigh, seemingly deciding not to prolong the issue.

"Haah... Just forget it," said Pakura, shaking his head gently.

Pakura then looked at Souta with a more serious expression before starting to explain.

"For your earlier question... How can I make you feel Chakra? It's quite simple," said Pakura. "I just need to stimulate the Chakra that already exists within your body a little."

Souta furrowed his brow, trying to understand what Pakura meant.

"In the body of every living being, there is already natural Chakra formed since birth. However, not everyone can easily feel Chakra. Usually, it takes a long practice to find and control your own Chakra," continued Pakura.

Souta nodded. He knew this basic concept, although it was only now that he truly understood it.

"I was carefully manipulating your Chakra flow earlier," Pakura continued. "In that way, your body will start to become aware of your own Chakra. After that, you will find it easier to feel it without the help of others."

Souta pondered for a moment, then his eyes lit up.

"Ah! So that's how it works!" Souta said enthusiastically. "I understand now!"

Then, Souta looked at Pakura with hope.

"If that's the case, teach me how to control my Chakra!"

Pakura only smiled faintly, as if he had anticipated Souta's enthusiasm.

"Don't rush," said Pakura. "Before you learn to control your Chakra well, you must be able to feel it clearly, including the Chakra that is in the air. I mean, not the Chakra that floats freely, but the Chakra that comes from living beings around you—like me, or even the small animals around us."

Souta furrowed his brows. "But I was already able to feel Chakra earlier."

"That was just a little," Pakura shook his head. "If you want to become a ninja, you must be able to control your own Chakra flow, not just rely on the help of others."

Souta fell silent. He did not expect the process to be this complicated. However, it was precisely this challenge that made Souta even more interested.

"So, after I can feel Chakra clearly, what should I do next?" Souta asked curiously.

"After that, you will learn to control the Chakra in your body well. If you can do that, only then can you move on to the next stage, such as using ninjutsu or enhancing physical strength with Chakra," explained Pakura.

Souta clenched his fists. A burning spirit ignited within him once again.

This was the beginning of everything. The beginning of Souta's long journey to understand and master Chakra.

"Let's get started," Souta said firmly.

...

...

...

Souta slowly closed his eyes, trying to empty his mind as Pakura had taught him. The hot wind typical of Sunagakure blew gently, carrying fine grains of sand that occasionally brushed against Souta's skin. The scorching sunlight enveloped the entire village, making the air feel dry and stinging.

As Souta took a deep breath, he tried to feel something—anything that was hidden in the air around him. At first, nothing happened. No strange feelings, no vibrations, no signs of the presence of Chakra. All Souta felt was the warmth of the sun burning his skin and the dry gusts of wind.

However, with Souta's perseverance, slowly something began to change.
