Chapter 15 - Chapter 29 & 30

Chapter 29: Chakra Control Practice Walking on the Wall

That moment brought a unique sense of pride for Souta, but he knew that this was just the beginning of everything.

Now, Souta faced a new challenge: adding one more leaf.

At first glance, adding one leaf might seem like a minor, insignificant change, but in reality, this practice changed everything. With just one leaf, Souta's attention and chakra only needed to be focused on a single point. However, with two leaves, Souta's focus had to be divided, and it was much harder than he had anticipated. Souta's concentration often broke, causing one of the leaves to fall before he could realize his mistake.

...

...

...

Ten days passed, and despite trying his hardest, Souta could only maintain five leaves for one hour. This was far from his initial target of wanting ten leaves. A sense of disappointment briefly enveloped Souta, but he did not let that failure stop him. He took a deep breath, reminding himself that this was all part of the process.

After completing the leaf exercise, Souta moved on to a more difficult stage: walking on the wall of his house.

Souta thought this practice would be easier after successfully controlling his chakra with the leaves, but he was very wrong. Walking on the wall not only demanded precise chakra control but also required perfect physical strength and balance.

On his first attempt, Souta could barely stick his foot to the wall before he fell straight down.

Thud!

Souta's body hit the sandy floor of his room, creating a loud noise. He groaned, feeling pain in his back, but he did not give up. He tried again. And again.

However, the results remained the same.

As the night grew later, Souta's failures continued to repeat. Every time he tried to stick his chakra to the wall, he would lose his balance and then fall with a thud.

Pakura, who lived in the next room, finally lost her patience.

"Souta! You're so noisy! Are you trying to be a ninja or are you trying to destroy this house?! It's late, stop making noise!"

Souta, still sitting on the floor, could only laugh awkwardly. He knew very well that he was indeed making a racket. With a embarrassed face, Souta could only apologize repeatedly to Pakura.

They were both orphans from Sunagakure, and now, after being declared passed the Ninja Academy entrance exam, they were placed in a simple two-story apartment. On the second floor, there were only two rooms—one for Souta and one for Pakura. It felt strange, as the first floor was left empty without any occupants, as if this apartment was indeed only provided for the two of them.

Although the room they lived in had the typical sandy floor of Sunagakure that helped muffle sound, the noise from his body hitting the ground repeatedly could not be completely eliminated. It was no wonder Pakura felt disturbed and eventually scolded Souta.

...

...

...

Ten days had passed since Souta began practicing walking on the wall. He had fallen countless times, his body covered in bruises and small cuts from the impacts. However, there was one thing he realized—chakra control was everything.

Now, Souta was able to stay on the wall for one minute while walking. Although it seemed trivial, this was a significant advancement for Souta.

When he first managed to walk a few steps on the wall without falling immediately, he could hardly contain his pride. With heavy breaths and sweat trickling down his temples, the corners of Souta's mouth lifted into a smile.

However, Souta knew that one minute was not enough. He needed to be able to last longer.

...

...

...

Time continued to pass. In the last ten days before the Academy started, Souta maintained a strict training regimen.

Every morning, Souta began his day with physical training—running around the apartment area, doing push-ups, sit-ups, and various other exercises to improve his body strength.

Chapter 30: Taking a Short Break

After that, Souta continued to train his chakra by walking on the walls for hours, where he constantly tried to improve his endurance and balance.

Due to being too focused on training, Souta rarely met with Pakura. They only occasionally saw each other during breakfast or dinner, but most of their time was spent apart.

Days passed, until only two days remained before they entered the Ninja Academy.

Souta gazed at the night sky from his bedroom window, feeling satisfied with what he had achieved so far. He knew there was still much to learn, but one thing was certain—Souta had tried his best.

And Souta would continue to strive until he truly became a great ninja.

...

...

...

The scorching desert sun began to reveal its rays over the horizon, flooding the village of Sunagakure with dazzling golden light.

Fine grains of sand carried by the wind danced in the air, creating a thin, misty veil between the characteristic clay and stone buildings.

Inside an apartment building made entirely of a mixture of sand and compacted clay, a boy woke up with a lazy expression. The boy's dark blue hair was tousled, with a few strands covering his forehead, while his deep black eyes still looked sleepy. The boy yawned widely, then stretched his slightly stiff body after a night's sleep.

"Uwaaahhh... It's morning, huh?" the boy mumbled with the hoarse voice typical of someone just waking up.

Souta, the name of the boy, sat on the edge of a simple wooden bed with a thin mattress that was starting to wear out. Souta rubbed his eyes slowly before finally smiling faintly, his awareness gradually returning.

"Tomorrow... tomorrow is the day I start my journey as a student of the Ninja Academy," Souta said softly, a hint of enthusiasm evident in his tone. "Hehe... I can't wait."

Souta jumped down from the bed, his steps light and relaxed. The small room where Souta lived had only basic furniture—a low wooden table, a simple wardrobe, and a narrow window facing the outside corridor of the apartment. The dry desert air slipped in through the cracks in the walls, carrying the distinctive scent of sand.

Without much thought, Souta walked toward the living room of his apartment, which was not far from his room. The room was not large, just enough for a small dining table and a few rickety chairs.

There was no luxury here, only functionality. Souta stepped into the kitchen, which was just a small corner with a sand shelf and a simple fire stove. However, before he could do anything, Souta turned to the bathroom to clean himself up first.

The cold water touched Souta's skin, making him shiver for a moment. Sunagakure was indeed hot during the day, but early in the morning like this, the temperature was still quite low. Souta wiped his face, enjoying the refreshing sensation before finally finishing and putting on simple clothes—a short-sleeved black collared shirt and fitted black pants.

Today, Souta decided not to do any stretching or training. Tomorrow was an important day, so it was better for him to fully rest his body. With that decision, Souta left his apartment, walking leisurely as he allowed himself to enjoy the morning atmosphere in Sunagakure.

The village streets were still quiet, with only a few merchants starting to set up their stalls. The wind blew gently, carrying sparkling grains of sand illuminated by the sunlight. Souta walked along the stone-paved streets that had been compacted by time and the footsteps of many people.
