[ Foreword: This chapter contains a modified Enchanting attribute (Curse of Vanishing), which is a fan-made creation. ]
A person in a black robe, whose face was obscured, was kneeling on the ground. Before him lay a severely wounded Unicorn, its silver-white blood flowing from its neck, which the black-clad person licked clean, mouthful by mouthful.
Originally, the two sides should have had no intersection; one side planned to take the main road, simply patrolling.
The other intentionally chose such a secluded place, and both sides tacitly did not want to cause any trouble.
Until Kaisen, ill-fatedly, decided to take a direct route, and the two sides coincidentally ran into each other.
The black-clad person also turned his head and discovered Kaisen and several Little Wizardss.
"Spread out, find cover, and hide yourselves," Kaisen said without hesitation. This black-robed person was different from Ronan.
Ronan was a native creature of the Forbidden Forest; his presence there was not a problem at all, and he bore no ill will.
However, this fellow who came to the Forbidden Forest in the middle of the night to kill Unicorns and drink their blood was a blatant Dark Wizard, and Dark Wizards must be eliminated with the fastest speed and the most decisive means.
Three Decay Skulls, emanating decay and death, howled as they charged towards the black-robed person.
Seeing this, the black-robed person waved his wand, swiftly deflecting one of them. However, with the other two about to strike his face, he had no choice but to roll away in a sorry state.
Two Decay Skulls exploded on the ground, and the one that was deflected exploded on a tall tree.
At the same time, the areas where both exploded rapidly showed visible decay; the soil was fine, but the poor tree almost instantly turned into a charcoal-like structure.
"Professor Kaisen, the famous one at Hogwarts, can he also use such Dark Arts?" the black-clad person said in a hoarse voice.
"If it's to kill a Dark Wizard like you, I only regret that I don't know Avada Kedavra!"
In a corner of the battlefield, the four Little Wizardss of Gryffindor, secretly peeking, looked at Professor Kaisen at this moment. Gone was his usual gentle demeanor; his eyes were now as cold as Snape looking at Neville's Troll exam paper, ten thousand times more terrifying than that.
The usually warm Professor Kaisen, like a small sun, had vanished, replaced by the bitter north wind of winter, constantly seeking to kill the Dark Wizard before him.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A sickly green spell shot from the black-clad person's wand. Kaisen, seeing this, raised his hand and conjured an obsidian wall, blocking the Avada Kedavra.
He waved his hand again, and this wall instantly shattered into sharp obsidian fragments, shooting towards the black-clad person.
"Curse of Flame!"
Blood-red Fiendfyre rose, consuming all the flying obsidian fragments.
Kaisen snorted at the sight, waving his wand as several ender crystals charged towards the blurry figure behind the flames.
The enormous shockwave generated by the crystal explosions caused the Fiendfyre to tremble. The figure, however, shimmered with a strange light and, remarkably, was not instantly blasted into inorganic matter; he braced himself and had yet to fall.
"Stay here and die!" The black-clad person took a broken glass cup from his pocket, upon which spatial fluctuations rolled—it was a Portkey.
The moment the black-clad person took out the Portkey, he abruptly vanished, and the wall of fire before Kaisen, no longer bound by its master, instantly began to consume and spread.
"Professor! Can't you use what you used on the dueling platform that time?!" Hermione poked her head out and shouted.
"This time, the flames are boundless; unfortunately, that won't work!" Kaisen quickly pulled out paper and a quill. The quill's tip rapidly drew various complex symbols on the parchment. Eventually, he summoned an Enchanting Table.
"If I catch him, I promise that guy will suffer greatly!" He placed the parchment on the magic book floating above the Enchanting Table. As the magic book rapidly flipped, a magnificent purple magic enveloped the sky-obscuring Fiendfyre.
"Curse of Vanishing!"
Buzz!
The moment the magic book in Kaisen's hand closed, the Fiendfyre that had been obscuring the sky just a second ago abruptly vanished into thin air. If it weren't for the trees within several miles being burned to nothing but ash by the Fiendfyre, the Little Wizardss would have almost thought it was a nightmare.
Boom!
Another burst of golden-red firelight. Kaisen's trembling hand tightened on his wand, his bloodshot eyes looking at the figures emerging from the firelight.
Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Snape, Filius...
"Kaisen!"
"Professor!"
Harry and Neville, who were constantly watching Kaisen, quickly scrambled over the cover and caught Professor Kaisen, who was about to fall face first.
Headmaster Dumbledore's fearful gaze held undisguised anger, but he still composed himself and walked over quickly: "...It's just an exhaustion of self-protection, Severus."
Snape swiftly pulled two bottles of Potion from his robes, pushing Harry and Neville aside like worthless objects. He then uncorked the Potions and poured them into Kaisen's mouth, not forgetting to lift Kaisen's chin to prevent him from choking.
"That damned Dark Wizard, how dare he... how dare he!" Professor McGonagall looked at the ravaged battlefield and the unconscious Kaisen lying on the ground, her eyes red.
She dared not imagine what if Kaisen wasn't here, what if Hagrid had been the one to take these Little Wizardss to patrol the Forbidden Forest today...
She felt a suffocating sensation. She only wanted to give five misbehaving Little Wizardss a shocking form of punishment, but instead...
Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout, meanwhile, searched with their wands, fearing that even a small ember might have been missed, which would lead to big trouble.
"Headmaster Dumbledore, Professor Kaisen, he..." The other three Little Wizardss also ran over, asking Dumbledore.
"In this regard, Severus is the expert."
"...magic exhaustion, but it can be replenished. Two bottles of Potion will do, but the drained mental energy... He won't be able to teach for a week." Snape said with a frown.
Headmaster Dumbledore nodded: "This is already the best outcome. Send him back to his office."
"Don't send him to the Medical... Oh." Harry, quick to speak, said half of it before suddenly realizing that there was another Dark Wizard, Quirrell, in the Medical Wing who was at odds with Professor Kaisen.
Sending Professor Kaisen in his current state would be like serving Quirrell on a platter. It was better to go to his own office, so he quickly stopped speaking.
Headmaster Dumbledore looked over, nodding in agreement.
"Severus, I'll trouble you to brew the Potion." Headmaster Dumbledore said, gathering everyone together. After a flash of firelight, everyone appeared in the alchemy office.
After Headmaster Dumbledore sent everyone away, only he, Snape, and the unconscious Kaisen remained in the office.
And now Headmaster Dumbledore was also leaving.
"Where are you going?" Snape asked.
"To find my Alchemy textbooks from my student days. It seems I'll need to be the substitute Alchemy Professor for a week."
"I don't think that's necessary!"
The person who had just been unconscious on the bed struggled to sit up.
