Chapter 53 - Chapter 53 Do you think one person is enough?

"Actually, I can do it myself…"

"What do you want to eat?"

"Hmm… an orange, please."

Hermione sat on a small stool, skillfully peeling an orange. She broke off a segment and offered it to Kaisen, who lay on the bed and somewhat indignantly opened his mouth to eat it.

The office and the bedroom were connected, and the door was not closed, so Kaisen could clearly see what the other Little Wizardss were doing.

For instance… Harry, with a wand in his left hand and a rag in his right, was cleaning the office, combining both magic and Muggle methods.

Neville was diligently washing the steady stream of fruits brought to the door. While it was fine to wash apples and pears, this child even washed oranges and bananas, fruits that needed to be peeled.

According to him, he was afraid that the unwashed fruit exteriors would contaminate the clean fruits.

Hmm… he truly is a good child… very good.

Ron, on the other hand, was busy outside the office door, carrying basket after basket of fruit into the office, noting down their names and the cards on the baskets, and stacking them on the desk.

In the corner, a Little Wizards with platinum blonde hair was using hot water to heat the Potion inside a Potion bottle, constantly trying to keep the temperature at 37.5 degrees Celsius with a mercury thermometer.

"Honestly, I wasn't even injured. You guys really don't need to go to such extremes," Kaisen said dryly, confined to the bed by a spell called [Strong Gaze].

"Professor Snape said…"

"I suspect Severus is getting back at me for that Christmas gift I sent him… though I can tell he actually used it. Have you noticed his hair?"

Hermione nodded knowingly: "I thought Professor Snape's hair looked much more normal after coming back from the Christmas holiday."

"Yes, that was my masterpiece. Do you want to learn? I can teach you, as long as you let me get up and go to the Alchemy workbench in the office. It'll be one-on-one; no other Little Wizards gets this kind of treatment," Kaisen coaxed, like a big bad wolf lying in his grandmother's bed.

"…Hmm… while that offer is very tempting, I refuse," Hermione said with difficulty.

"Oh… don't you have classes? Don't tell me you took time off to take care of me. I'm warning you now, I absolutely will not appreciate this skipping of classes."

"The next class is in half an hour."

"Then go quickly. Believe me, I'll be perfectly fine here by myself. I definitely won't trip over my slippers, fall over, hit my head on the floor, and go straight to meet Death," Kaisen said, his face lighting up.

"Our roommates will help us bring our books, don't worry about that, Professor."

"But you should still go to class, shouldn't you?"

"Yes, but that will be in twenty minutes."

"Okay…"

Although those twenty minutes felt incredibly long, they still brought Kaisen a little comfort.

Just twenty minutes, only twenty minutes.

Kaisen stared blankly at the ceiling. When he counted to fifteen minutes and twenty-six seconds, Draco quickly moved his feet and brought over a Potion at thirty-eight point nine degrees.

This temperature was calculated by him, considering the heat conduction of the glass bottle, the specific heat capacity of the liquid, and his moving speed. By the time he walked over, it would be approximately thirty-seven point five degrees.

"Put it here. You can leave now."

Draco's expression immediately fell, but this time, he surprisingly didn't say any extra trash talk. He simply placed the Potion on the nightstand and left.

"I truly thank Severus and his eighteen generations of ancestors, because even though he's put me in this pathetic situation, at least the Potion he brewed is… why does it smell like garlic? Did he chop up Quirrell and add him in?"

Kaisen begged and pleaded until Hermione finally agreed to let him sit up a little and extend an arm from under the covers to drink the Potion himself.

However, the moment the Potion touched his lips, its bizarre taste contorted his face into a mask of agony.

"This morning's Potion was orange soda flavored…"

Kaisen lay on the bed, feeling utterly lifeless. He felt as though his sweat had already imprinted a human shape onto the bedsheet, and the quilt still held him tightly bound.

At this moment, taking a sip of a Potion that was even colder than room temperature made him feel like life didn't need to be that long.

Truly.

Fortunately, the time was almost up. He refused to believe that Hermione and these first-year little squirts could come up with a spell to make him obediently stay in bed.

Even Dumbledore couldn't make him stay obediently in bed; could they?

Absolutely not!

Soon, in Kaisen's perception of time, the twenty minutes were finally up. However, Hermione and the others did not leave. Instead, they opened the office door, and a line of people orderly walked in.

"What's going on?"

Hermione stood with her hands behind her back, her face stern: "To ensure Professor, you recover well in bed, we specifically found some external help."

"…Huh?"

Soon, the first Little Wizards walked in: Angelina, a third-year Gryffindor.

This child was a good child, but… no, given her nature—she sent thick gloves as a Christmas gift and reminded him to wear warm clothes when it was cold—if she stayed, he'd probably end up with two or three more layers on his quilt.

For his own safety, Kaisen's face, filled with horror, shook his head frantically. Seeing this, Angelina retreated with a hint of disappointment.

Next was a Hufflepuff Little Wizards, Cedric, a third-year whom he had designated as the fourth-year Alchemy class representative.

This one was a good sort. Most importantly, he was upright, knew how to adapt, and was strong and healthy, perfectly understanding his current furnace-like situation.

Well, actually, none of that was true. It was more that Cedric was easy to talk to, and if he spoke to him nicely, he might even get him to sneak him out for some fresh air or something.

Kaisen showed a relieved smile: "Cedric, you stay. Yes, just you is enough. Let the others go. It's much better to go for a stroll or sleep in bed than to be here."

Cedric nodded and stood in the corner of the bedroom.

Hermione then proceeded to call the next person in.

"Hmm??? What's going on?" Kaisen asked, somewhat bewildered.

"Professor, given your personality, do you think one person is enough?"
