Chapter 58 - Chapter 58 What the hell does Dumbledore know about alchemy?

"Did Dumbledore show you the Philosopher's Stone?" Nicolas Flamel asked again.

"I've seen it, and he even had me forge one," Kaisen nodded and said.

"You forged it? Was it that person?"

"Yeah... Do you want to hear his name? If not, I won't say it."

"You don't need to say it, I know who he is. How did you forge it?" Nicolas Flamel was clearly more concerned about this question.

Kaisen reached out and pulled out a redstone: "With this thing."

Nicolas Flamel took the redstone, weighed it carefully in his hand, and finally let out a sigh of relief.

"It's just an energy block. If you could make the Philosopher's Stone as easily as you make gold, I really should find a rope and strangle myself."

"But speaking of which, this thing is quite similar. You, having made the Philosopher's Stone, can tell the difference, but others can't. In any case, it's very useful for fishing," Kaisen explained.

"Did Dumbledore tell you what he plans to do with that Philosopher's Stone?" Nicolas Flamel asked again.

"He didn't say, and I didn't ask."

"Once Dumbledore is finished with the real Philosopher's Stone, you should ask him for it."

"That's the Philosopher's Stone! Why does it sound like a common cabbage when you talk about it?"

"Does Dumbledore understand Alchemy? The Philosopher's Stone cannot realize its true value in his hands."

"And he has always disregarded such external possessions. I can tell from his letters that he cares a great deal about you. Trust me, he will."

Kaisen deeply agreed with the first sentence.

Dumbledore knew nothing about Alchemy, and the second sentence felt a bit strange.

He didn't doubt Dumbledore's disregard for so-called external possessions.

But with his robes being more expensive than anyone else's, his chair softer than anyone else's, even his half-moon spectacles made of mithril and pure crystal, and him even deducting the wages of new Professors at the start of the term—

Given his nature, he wouldn't let Kaisen take something for free. He would probably make Kaisen do some exceedingly demanding work.

Last time, when Kaisen secretly drank two bottles of his wine, he ended up fighting a Dark Wizard in the Forbidden Forest. What price would he have to pay this time to pry the Philosopher's Stone from his hands?

"Trust me, your future will greatly need a Philosopher's Stone. Even if it crumbles into powder in your hands, it will have fulfilled its intended value. It's certainly better than being kept under lock and key in some exquisite box, or simply used to make some Elixir of Life or to play some Midas Touch tricks," Nicolas Flamel patiently explained.

"I will... I will persuade Dumbledore. After all, an Alchemy grandmaster like you thinks so highly of me, so I should at least strive to live up to it," Kaisen nodded.

"How do you plan to strive?"

"If Dumbledore doesn't agree to give me the Philosopher's Stone for free, I'll just have to put a sack over his head while he's sleeping," Kaisen exhaled a long breath.

"Uh... Honestly, that's not necessary, really," Nicolas Flamel added.

"....." After a long silence, Kaisen nodded: "I will keep your words in mind."

"That's for the best... Although I know it will go in one ear and out the other. You talented ones are all like this. A young Dumbledore was also like this, and that... never mind."

Nicolas Flamel stopped mid-sentence, perhaps forgetting, or perhaps not wanting to say, and simply walked away with his hands behind his back.

"I hope my temper won't be so strange in the future... Is it from studying Alchemy?" Kaisen watched the old man walk away, grumbling without malice.

The dinner quickly ended. After all, there really weren't many young people in the venue besides Kaisen; the next youngest was thirty-three. Naturally, it couldn't be like a wild party that went on until late at night.

Everyone simply had some drinks at the venue, perhaps a small cake or snack if they were hungry, and then the entire gathering dispersed.

Kaisen followed the staff member in front to the suite prepared for him by the Ministry of Magic in France. At first glance, it truly could be described as resplendent, having the feel of a Muggle five-star hotel.

He took a quick shower in the room and then almost fell asleep in the bathtub.

He stumbled back to bed and lost consciousness in the blink of an eye.

He was truly exhausted.

The next day, he was woken up by breakfast.

Originally, Kaisen had a slight morning grumpiness. While he wouldn't resort to harsh words, he also wasn't likely to show a good face to the staff member delivering breakfast.

That was until the staff member brought a serving of authentic French breakfast.

Honestly, in comparison, Hogwarts' dry bread in the mornings, the super-hard bacon that was highly likely carved from redstone, and the tasteless, watered-down fried eggs...

"...Do your magic schools in France need an Alchemy Professor?" Kaisen looked earnestly at the Ministry of Magic employee in front of him.

"If you truly have that intention, I believe Beauxbatons, even if they had to reassign their current Alchemy Professor to care for the Pegasi, would welcome you with beaming smiles. Would you like me to convey your message to them?"

The Ministry of Magic employee said, pulling out parchment and a quill, and was about to lean against the doorframe to write a letter on the spot.

"Ah, no, that won't be necessary, sir, really. I was just making an observation, and I sincerely praise your French cuisine," Kaisen quickly stopped the earnest gentleman in front of him.

It was then that the Ministry of Magic employee remembered that Professor Kaisen was from England, and immediately looked at him with a sympathetic gaze.

After a thought, he took another plate of breakfast from the serving cart and handed it over.

"Thank you, generous sir! May Merlin bless you!"

Kaisen stood at the door with two breakfasts, watching the 'Breakfast Hero' gradually walk away before returning to his suite to enjoy his meal.

After breakfast, he had to rush downstairs. The Alchemist Association gathering all its members this time was, to be honest, quite rare. So these Alchemy masters came up with an activity, such as... a team-building event in the Muggle world of France.

Kaisen readily accepted this. Since he was already here, he might as well buy some souvenirs for his students.

Just as he expressed this idea and asked where Gringotts in France was, he learned that the association was funding this team-building event and had already exchanged a huge amount of Galleons for francs.

"Hmm... In that case, I can bring gifts for the Professors too."

"[I've created a fan group. If you have any thoughts, you can join.]"
