Chapter 267 - Chapter 267 Special Tutoring for Advancement

"Progress... half of one leg completed?"

"Oh…" Professor McGonagall's sudden enthusiasm quickly waned. "I thought it was already finished."

"How could it be that fast?" Kayson shook his head with a bitter smile.

"Alright… By the way, this might be difficult for you, but I still want you to try not to cause too much of a stir if conditions permit," Professor McGonagall said tactfully.

"No problem, I guarantee it."

After completing Professor McGonagall's lecture, Kayson casually began to devour the food on the table.

"How long has it been since you ate?" Snape asked.

"About half a day, mainly… the consumption is really high." Kayson uncharacteristically stopped chewing, and after swallowing all the food, he replied.

Snape sighed and pushed a glass of pumpkin juice over.

"Oh, thanks!"

Kayson took the pumpkin juice and drank it all in one gulp, saying cheerfully.

"…Hmm… eat slowly."

Snape finished speaking and stood up, leaving the Great Hall. It seemed he was returning to his office.

Kayson, after quickly finishing the remaining food on the table, returned to his office, leaned back on the sofa, and put a record into the player, intending to rest on the sofa and listen to music.

Then a figure appeared before him. Cedric stood beside him, looking dazed, unsure whether to greet Kayson or turn back.

However, the honest Cedric quickly chose to turn and leave.

"Hey, what are you doing? Just dropping by for a stroll and leaving?" Kayson said, opening his slightly narrowed eyes.

"Uh, Professor, I've already thrown my name into the goblet of fire," Cedric said, walking back with quick steps.

"That's good, so what?" Kayson stood up and said.

Cedric rummaged through his pocket: "This, I wrote to my father before, and this is his reply. He agreed to the Alchemy modification as long as it doesn't affect the appearance of my clothes. His signature is also on it."

Kayson took the letter and read through it. "Oh… this isn't forged by you, is it?" Kayson glanced at Cedric.

"Absolutely not. I'm not the Weasley Twins, and there's my father's magic on it. It's on the signature and throughout the entire letter."

Cedric said confidently.

"Oh, for such a big matter, you should have told me in advance, at least so we could meet. Just giving me a letter makes it hard for me to believe," Kayson said, clicking his tongue.

"Professor, you can't equate the parent-child relationship in the Muggle worldview with that in the Wizard worldview. In fact, the parent-child relationship in the Wizard world is… much more abstract. As long as it doesn't involve souls and death, Little Wizards have a very high degree of freedom," Cedric explained.

"Oh, I don't have children either, so you can't blame me," Kayson said, pouting.

"Then, Professor, do you agree?"

"I need to write a letter to Mr. Diggory personally," Kayson said, pulling out a piece of parchment. He quickly wrote a letter and, along with the reply Cedric brought, put them into an envelope and mailed them to Mr. Diggory.

Perhaps the owl was surprisingly efficient this time, as Kayson received a reply in the evening. The content, when opened… was still an agreement.

"Well, your father is quite open-minded, huh," Kayson said to Cedric, putting the reply back on the bookshelf.

The latter just nodded, sitting early on the sofa with his hands on his knees, obediently preparing to listen to instructions.

"I've already taught you the principles of mechanical arms, so I won't waste any more words. Let's get straight to the point. I will provide you with unlimited knowledge and raw materials, as long as you can learn and create them yourself." In Kayson's hand, tiny blocks rotated, slowly assembling into basic raw materials.

Cedric immediately tried to reach out, but Kayson grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back.

"Draw a sketch first."

Cedric quickly reacted: "Okay, okay, I'll draw it now!" He quickly picked up a quill and parchment and, with a few strokes on the coffee table, drew a rough framework for a mechanical arm.

It was a four-joint mechanical arm with a blade at the end.

Kayson glanced at it and shook his head: "Too few joints. This is your first mechanical arm, so it can only be installed centrally, otherwise it will cause your body's center of gravity to shift."

"What about you, Professor?" Cedric asked.

"My mechanical arms are split five-five, and they are installed together."

"I see…" Cedric nodded. "Then can I just make two mechanical arms and install them together?"

"You can, but it will be very painful," Kayson warned.

"It's okay, I'm not afraid!" Cedric said, then began to design the second version.

Soon another sketch was drawn, showing two mechanical arms. One had eight joints, and the other also had eight joints. The ends of both mechanical arms were carefully designed, with one side having twin blades and a small-caliber cannon centered between them.

The other side also had twin blades and a small-caliber cannon centered between them.

"Two identical ones, not bad. When you make them, remember to make sure both mechanical arms are completely standardized, otherwise if one side is heavier than the other, our balance design will be wasted." Kayson said, then pulled out materials for Cedric: large chunks of Mithril, a small amount of iron, and mostly mysterious ingots.

"Professor, why is there so little iron?" Cedric asked.

"Iron is too heavy; your spine can't bear it."

Cedric nodded: "That's so scientific… What about your mechanical arms, Professor?"

Kayson sat on the sofa, looking at his student who wanted to emulate him in everything, and felt a strange sense of… joy?

After all, no one wants their students to be anything less than excellent, and he was no different.

"I reinforced my entire skeleton. Your spine isn't strong enough."

"Professor, I want that too!"

"…Alright." Kayson showed a peculiar smile.

He then rummaged through the bookshelf and quickly found the design blueprint for his own skeleton template, which he handed to Cedric.

"This is the design blueprint for my skeleton back then. If you want to make one, you'll need to go to Madam Pomfrey to have your bones rapidly develop to their limit until your growth plates close. Trust me, you won't want your bones to continue developing after having enhancements installed."
