Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

Mart walked out of the cave, with his eyes closed outside he was greeted by the gloomy day due to the sea of grey clouds over the mountain.

"I must get off the mountain, although it's a shame, with so many corroded monsters, this place is perfect for me, next time I come back, I'll be sure to make the most of it," thought Mart who shortly after saw Professor Helen leave with a complicated look, although she had managed to hide the corrosive energy under her skin.

-Helen; it doesn't matter if you don't want to; I said I'll heal you; it'll just take longer, as you can see, it would be strange if a student with my rank could fix it quickly wouldn't it? -They were Mart's confident words that had a touch of sincerity and a hint of a lie.

-I'll trust you for now, Mart Sevec. -Expressed Professor Helen who didn't hesitate to take the lead to head for the camp quickly.

"There is so much to enjoy in this country," thought Mart as he ran through the forest powered by his demonic energy.

As they reached the camp there were grim faces, some cheered at the sight of Professor Helen, and others murmured at the sight of Mart:

"Apparently it's true that pests don't die easily."

"That wretch was saved."

Mart just thought as he heard those comments, "apparently I am an object of hate"; Selis saw Mart and threw herself into his arms, Mart hugged her and kissed her, this time she did not hesitate as she received the kiss.

-Don't do that again, we were very worried. -Said Selis without letting go of Mart.

Mart looked at Asfil and she said with her cold character:

-I only did what you asked me to do.

He kissed Selis once more, then walked over to Asfil, took the Orc core out of his bag and handed it to her.

-I told Professor Helen, that we had already hurt him, between all of us, so I decided to go after him. -Mart said.

Asfil looked at the core, she was surprised, then looked at Mart and asked:

-Did you do it by yourself?

-Remember I bought a lot of artifacts, besides it was wounded when I found it, I think they were attacked by one of those things that attacked the students. -Said Mart with confidence and kindness.

-Even so, it was dangerous. -Asfil reprimanded him.

He whispered in her ear:

-The important thing is that you wanted it; and I care about you.

Asfil went blank as Mart walked away to some tables where food was being delivered to the students.

[All traits have been disabled]

[Reminder: Host, you will suffer severe fatigue for 7 days.]

"Why?" asked Mart, in his mind.

[The host activated several traits at once while alone at the first rank. He kept the traits activated as long as he reached the second rank]

[Don't worry host after the fatigue your body will get stronger.]

Shortly after the last notification, Mart felt his body heavy, he found it hard to breathe, he had barely reached the table for support, and when he felt his vision blurred he thought:

"This must be a joke."

[Trait anger activated]

[Trait anger was deactivated]

They all saw Mart faint on the table, and even Asfil who had stayed behind ran to him upon seeing him faint.

----

Mart opened his eyes, above him was a white colored ceiling that he didn't know, white lights coming from magic crystals dazzled his eyes and he had to close and ajar them until he got used to the light, the smell of the place felt clean, but there was a smell that reminded him of the hospitals in his world.

Mart felt another smell that he knew, when he looked he recognized the woman with the pleasant fragrance, it was Iristel, she was dressed in her attractive maid outfit, and you could see her legs covered by the long black stockings. She was sitting next to him and was now caressing his cheek.

-Where am I? -asked Mart with a sleepy tone, he sat on the bed and felt a horrible muscle pain, he immediately thought, "this must be the severe fatigue".

-You are in the Academy infirmary, Professor Aneth brought you, she is one of the people in charge of this place. -Iristel answered without looking away from Mart's gentle gaze.

-I'm sorry to have worried you, but why are you here? -asked Mart.

-Does it bother you? -Iristel asked cautiously.

-I would never do that. -replied Mart, whose voice had regained its usual tone.

Iristel took Mart's hand and said:

-It was just a coincidence, I'm on my break time, and I told Professor Aneth that you and I are friends.

-Friends? -Mart asked with a smile.

-I didn't want to cause you trouble, you've had enough with what happened with..." -Iristel was about to refer to Selenia, but stopped herself.

-You know what happened at the end of the expedition, if you know something, please tell me everything you know. -Mart said, pulling Iristel towards him to hug her despite how painful it was.

Iristel smiled, she was pleased to be in Mart's arms and then answered him:

-More than 30 students died; one of the four prodigies was seriously injured, in the end he lost one of his arms. The teachers suspended classes for two weeks, and met, I guess it is to take action on what happened. And you've been in bed for two days.

-Do you know which of the prodigies it was? -Mart asked.

-Not exactly, I only know it was one of the males, because no one has seen either of them at the Academy. Although there are rumors that the injured one was Meleic, because the students comment that he fought to protect his classmates.

"That despicable Eriant is good at running away, apparently," Mart thought as he recalled the conversation the real Mart had with Eriant.
