Chapter 40 - Chapter 40

"This place is impressive, are there any books here from the founding era?", Mart asked himself when he saw the surroundings, and the countless books available, he did not know if it was because of the attribute of intelligence or simple curiosity, but seeing so many books made his blood boil at the thought of the mysteries that the library he was in could hold.

After several seconds, Mart overcame the surprise and turned his gaze towards the reception, in which there was a green-skinned, wiry student, who wore glasses, had long hair of a reddish black color and the nails on his hands were pointed and thick, the student was reading a magazine entitled Coliseo Fernal, it looked like a sports type magazine.

Mart approached the student, and the student upon seeing him closed the magazine he was looking at, took a booklet from the desk and said in a nonchalant voice, while handing him the booklet:

-The books in this library can only be read in this library; the rest of the information you need should be in this booklet.

The student calmly opened his magazine again and continued reading.

Mart walked away from the reception desk, opened the booklet and it was blank with the only exception of the upper right hand corner which had "A drop of blood" written on it.

"It can't be helped; the strange thing would have been if it had been a simple brochure," Mart thought at the moment when a drop of blood fell on the brochure and a spectral voice that caused him to shiver whispered to him:

-Think of the information you wish to find.

Overcoming the surprise of the sudden whisper, Mart thought, "Core of demons"; he tried to be specific to avoid the topic spreading to the cores of demonic beasts and that of some monsters.

Over 1000 references appeared, and they even had reviews of popularity, but Mart was struck by an unpopular book, but one that had been read almost as many times as the second most popular book shown in the brochure. The unpopular book was titled "Demonic Hearts", and the third most popular book was titled "Demonic Energy Cores", the subtitle of which was "Absorption and Release of Demonic Energy".

A few seconds later, Mart thought, "I wish to find the book of demonic hearts", after that thought the image of the brochure changed and showed a schematic of the library in which rectangular images representing the shelves were shown, and in one of those rectangular images there was a red dot identical to the red dot that sd found in the area that in the schematic represented the reception. "This is like a GPS," thought Mart as he watched the red dot representing him move as he did too.

As Mart made his way to the designated location, he sometimes looked at the shelves around him at one or another book and its title, as he was curious about the different books that could be found in the library, especially in the section where he was at that moment. After a while, Mart arrived in front of the shelf where the book he was looking for was located which was located almost 4 meters high, at that moment a ladder slid from a far end of the shelf and stopped in front of he, Mart knew he had to climb manually, as it was forbidden to use demonic magic in the library, to ensure the conservation of the books and the shelves in which they were located, especially it was a rule to contain the problematic students. Once he reached the book he was looking for, he put the booklet in his demonic bag and took the book whose cover was red and rough, its letters were black and the pages were yellowish, at first glance it looked like an old and delicate book, that allowed him to clearly understand that prohibiting the use of demonic energy had been right, thus preserving antiques of priceless value, like the book in his hands.

Mart walked back stopping once or twice as he picked up some books and read the introductory words, until he left the section he was interested in and went to one of the desks that students could use for their work, reading and research.

Once he had sat down, Mart opened the first page of the book and his eyes widened for a few seconds as he read:

"Pandemonium."

"Ruin, Chaos and Order."

That was all the first page said but it was enough to capture his attention as he saw the words "pandemonium". Mart thought for a moment and wished he could use his magical perception on the book but it was forbidden, and hearing Emy's warning made him think that the fate of someone destroying a book could be worse.

"System, do you sense any kind of power or connection to this book?" asked Mart and the system notified:

[Use of demonic energy is required for effective analysis...]

That notification increased his curiosity.

[Greed trait activated: you will get triple everything you earn].

Mart felt that he was in front of a valuable treasure, still he forced himself to restrain himself, while thinking, "I'll read the contents first, to know how important this book can be."

A few minutes before, Professor Helen, who was wearing a black pants and blouse, ran to her room, inside, the lights were off, the curtains covered the windows, it was very dark, she sat on the edge of her bed, her hand hurt, especially after finding a letter in the drawer of her desk in the teacher's lounge that had the following message written on it:

"We know you are contaminated What do you think Principal Persec will do when he finds out?"

She knew, the letter was a threat and a way to force her to entangle herself with those conspirators. She was angry, she remembered what they did against the students. Suddenly she felt her anger rising, she panicked she wanted to control herself, but in the same way her anger appeared she started to calm down.
