Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Upon returning home, Alpha Glen and Akira were still simmering with tension from the events at the company. Akira threw her purse onto the couch in frustration and demanded an explanation from Alpha Glen.

"What was that embarrassing display all about?" she snapped, clearly agitated.

Alpha Glen looked at her sternly. "Akira, you're too desperate. As my girlfriend, you need to carry yourself with more class. Step out of your maid mentality and start thinking like a woman of high status."

Akira's anger flared. "Are you saying you still see me as a maid?" she retorted.

Alpha Glen's expression remained stoic. "With the way you behaved at the company, I can't help but wonder."

Feeling hurt and humiliated, Alpha Glen left the room. Akira let out a frustrated howl, trying to release some of her pent-up emotions. She then headed to the wine storage room, where the other maids promptly cleared out upon her arrival.

Drinking from a bottle of wine, Akira wallowed in her misery, blaming Maya for everything that had gone wrong. She felt overshadowed by Maya's absence, and believed that the people at the company preferred to see Alpha Glen with his true mate than her. In her anger, Akira vowed to make Maya pay for her perceived suffering, smashing the wine bottle on the floor.

Unbeknownst to her, Ivy, quietly entered the room and witnessed Akira's devastation. Not worried about her mistress, Ivy considered leaving, but Akira stopped her, accusing her of spying and giving Maya updates on her current state.

Ivy took a deep breath, trying to reason with Akira. "Please, Akira, you know Maya was sold, so she has no way to contact anyone. Don't blame her for your situation," she pleaded.

Akira's fury intensified, and she lashed out, grabbing Ivy's neck and issuing a chilling threat. She warned Ivy never to defend Maya in her presence, threatening to take her life if Ivy did so again. She tossed Ivy to the floor and said, "starting from today, you will address me as ma'am not Akira!" She stormed out of the wine storage room.

Ivy just shook her head and get up, she dust her body and proceed to clean up Akira mess.

Meanwhile, Maya was still imprisoned in Alpha Blake's underground cell. Her spirit had not broken despite the horrific situation she endured. Determined to survive, she kept praying for protection and strength.

As Maya tried to find some solace in her solitude, she couldn't shake the feeling that something ominous was lurking nearby. She heard faint voice and footsteps, echoing from a distance.

Suddenly, a faint light pierced through the darkness as the cell door creaked open. A figure emerged from the shadows, wearing a black robe with a hood concealing their face. The stranger approached Maya cautiously, his presence both mysterious and unsettling.

"Who are you?" Maya asked, her voice trembling.

"Maya," the person reveal his face to be Alpha Blake, and Maya asked him what did he want and why scaring her.

"Come and warm up my bed, I miss you." Alpha Blake said with a mischievous smile.

Maya control her anger and asked Alpha Blake to untie her first, he produced a key and unlocked her chains. Motioning for her to follow. Despite her fear, curiosity got the better of Maya, and she cautiously followed Alpha Blake.

As Maya burst out of the underground cell, she swiftly extended her wolf fangs and launched a ferocious attack on Alpha Blake. Her sharp fangs pierced through the back of his neck, causing him to stagger and collapse onto the floor, feeling dizzy and weakened from Maya's assault.

Before Alpha Blake could recover and heal from his wounds, Maya seized the opportunity to escape. She swiftly fled from the mansion, leaving Alpha Blake in disarray as he struggled to regain his strength. Unable to trace her scent due to his weakened state, Alpha Blake returned to the mansion and roused his rogues, commanding them to search for Maya.

However, despite their efforts, Maya had already disappeared. Her wolf scent lingered in the air, teasing them, but if they followed it, they would find no sign of her. Maya had distanced herself from the vicinity, navigating the unfamiliar surroundings of the foreign country she had been taken to.

Running through the silent streets, with the moon as her only companion, Maya felt a mixture of fear and determination. Everything seemed strange to her, as she had never ventured to this part of the world before. She continued her desperate flight, aware that danger still lurked behind her.

Meanwhile, Liam, Alpha Rick's loyal Beta, had just finished his duties at the company and was driving home at a reckless speed. Suddenly, his phone rang, jolting him from his thoughts. It was Alpha Rick on the line, demanding his immediate presence at his residence.

Liam acknowledged the command and hung up, swiftly turning his car around to head towards Alpha Rick's place. Lost in his thoughts and driving with haste, Liam failed to notice a figure crossing the street until it was too late. The impact of the collision was jarring, causing Liam to momentarily freeze.

Shaken, Liam hesitated before stepping out of his car to assess the damage. Just as he was about to retreat back into his vehicle, he heard a growl, alerting him to the fact that the person he had hit was not human. Acting on instinct, Liam's eyes shifted, transforming into the powerful gaze of his wolf form. He swiftly retaliated, delivering a powerful punch to the individual.

To his surprise, Liam realized that the person he had struck was not an ordinary human but a wolf. Knowing he couldn't simply leave the injured wolf on the street, he carefully lifted the unconscious figure and placed it in the trunk of his car. Liam then climbed back into the driver's seat, his mind filled with questions and uncertainty. On why a wolf would be roaming about on the street and even intended to attack him, as he sped away into the night.
