"It's a bit of a fixer upper, but once I'm done with it, it'll feel more like our home," Dylan laughed weakly.
"Is the bedroom at least ready?" Rachael groaned.
"I cleaned it this morning! The bed just needs blankets and pillows. I'll grab them from my car and show you to the room," Dylan ran to his car and dug out his bedding. He walked Rachael upstairs to the bedroom and made the bed. She looked around the room in disgust, but didn't say anything. "Okay. The bed's all ready. I'll let you settle in and make you some food."
"This place is creepy. Are you sure it's not haunted?"
"Ha!" Dylan gave a weak laugh. "Haunted? C'mon, Rachael. There's no such thing as ghost." Dylan walked downstairs to prepare some more food for Rachael. Ahriman sat where he was left, arms crossed. "You have to leave. I cannot have Rachael seeing you."
"Who's Rachael? Why should I leave? I live here," Ahriman scoffed.
"Rachael's my girlfriend. She's gonna move in with me once I finish fixing up the house. She just came to stay the night and see the house, but she'll freak out if she sees you, so please, Ahri. Can't you-I don't know-disappear or something? At least for tonight."
"I told you not to call me that!" Ahri yelled. Dylan covered Ahriman's mouth.
"Shh. She'll hear you!" Dylan panicked.
"Dylan?" Rachael walked into the kitchen. Ahriman peeked out from behind Dylan. "Who's that?" Rachael pointed at the demon.
"Um. Him? He's, um-"
"I'm his roommate," Ahriman smirked.
"You didn't tell me you had a roommate," Rachael scowled.
"Well, it was a little short notice," Dylan tried to come up with an excuse. Dylan remembered Ahriman's eyes and looked at the small boy, but to his surprise, Ahriman had given himself two eyes in a beautiful shade of purple.
"Whatever. I thought you were making me food," Rachael huffed. Dylan quickly started making her food as Ahriman carefully looked her up and down.
"What are you staring at, twerp?" Rachael hissed at Ahriman.
"Dylan, you're girlfriend's a bitch," Ahriman growled. Rachael gasped.
"Ahri!" Dylan snapped. "That's it. Get out!"
"You can't kick me out! I live here!" Ahriman argued.
"Well, I own this house!" Dylan countered.
"Maybe according to your realm's papers, but that means nothing to me."
"Then I'm no longer making you food."
"What? No! I'm sorry. I'll be good," Ahriman whined. Dylan didn't say anything for a minute.
"Fine. But you need to apologize to my girlfriend."
"Pfft. Yeah right. She called me a 'twerp', and all she's done since she got here is scowl and complain."
"Ahri!" Dylan barked. Ahriman looked over at the fuming girl.
"I'm not apologizing, but I'll stay away from her," Ahriman scoffed and walked into the living room. In the living room, Ahriman could hear Dylan and Rachael arguing. He didn't pay much attention to them and lay down on the couch. After a while, the arguing stopped and Dylan stomped into the living room as Rachael stomped upstairs.
"Great. Just great. Thanks a lot. Now my girlfriend's mad at me 'cause you decided to be a dick," Dylan grumbled.
"The biggest dick she gets," Ahriman snickered. Dylan was not amused. "Besides, she started it, and don't blame me for your poor taste in women."
"Excuse me? You don't get to talk about my girlfriend like that."
"Dylan, she treats you like trash. I doubt she actually likes you. She's using you. I don't possibly know what for, but she is."
"You don't know her like I do! You made an assumption about her based on two minutes of interaction."
"Well, the fact I was able to make an assumption in that little of time says a lot about her."
"You know what? I'm done talking about this. Once I'm done fixing this house, she's gonna move in and you are either going to have to deal with it or leave. Now go hunt some rodents or whatever you do at night."
"Why are you sleeping down here? I thought you cleaned up the bedroom upstairs."
"Well, thanks to you, my girlfriend doesn't want me to sleep with her tonight."
"Hmm. She sounds like a real gem," Ahriman hummed. Dylan picked up a pillow and chucked it at Ahriman, but the small boy disappeared. Dylan grumbled and lay on the couch with a blanket. Dylan woke up the next morning and started to make breakfast. Rachael walked into the kitchen and yawned.
"Mm. Something smells good. Whatcha making?" Rachael hummed as she hugged Dylan from behind.
"Pancakes and bacon," Dylan smiled.
"Where'd your lil roommate go?" Rachael grumbled.
"He's sleeping. He won't be up till tonight," Dylan sighed.
"What is he? A Vampire?"
"If only I could shoo him off with garlic. Maybe a crucifix will work."
"Yeah. He's a little devil."
"You have no idea." Dylan finished making breakfast and the two ate together. "Are you leaving right away or are you gonna stay a lil longer?"
"Mm. Well, I kinda wanted to do something before I left," Rachael smirked.
"Yeah? Like what?" Dylan looked at her.
"Well, I kind of missed you the past few weeks, and I'm a little curious to see how sturdy the bed is," Rachael cooed as she trailed her nails gently down Dylan's arm. Dylan got the hint and the two went upstairs. After a few minutes, Ahriman was pulled out of his slumber by the sounds coming from upstairs. Rachael was in no way trying to be quiet.
"Gross," Ahriman groaned as he tried to go back to sleep. Rachael left around noon, and Dylan was left to do more cleaning and repairs. As it started to get dark out, Ahriman woke up and found Dylan cleaning in the basement. It was dark and dusty, with only a small flashlight as a light source. "Your girlfriend is loud," Ahriman groaned as he snapped, making the basement lights flick on, making Dylan jump.
"You can't just do that. You scared the shit out of me," Dylan clutched his chest.
"At least it didn't last very long, so I didn't lose too much sleep."
"Fuck you."
