Chapter 46 - Chapter 35: Desperate Fist

Titan's judgment, like the cold laws of the universe, nailed Mark and Trigg to the edge of a desperate cliff.

In the vast sea of energy, the light cords binding Nolan burst forth with dazzling light, and the viscous, substantive Old Day pollution energy, like a cursed torrent from the abyss of the universe, madly poured into his painfully twitching body.

The entire Sanctuary's energy was like a spring wound tight by an invisible giant hand, converging towards the core; the destructive pressure that would end everything made space itself wail and distort!

Mark felt all the blood in his body freeze.

His molten gold eyes reflected the infernal scene of his father being swallowed by darkness, reflecting the indifferent, flowing sea of gods that was about to execute cosmic death.

The resilience of his Viltrumite bloodline kept him from kneeling, but the fervent love for life and light from his Kryptonian bloodline made him feel the pain of his soul being torn apart!

Save his father?

The cost would be his mother's, Eve's smiles, Earth's sunrise, and the billions of twinkling lives in the starry sky.

Stop the purification? Allowing the Old Day pollution to spread would ultimately lead to the universe's end in madness and darkness!

Whichever path, it was a complete, unsolvable abyss!

"No—!!!"

Mark's soul roared silently!

The Solar Energy within him surged with unprecedented ferocity, his muscle fibers tensed like dragons roaring under extreme stress, and his bones groaned under the terrifying weight of Titan's pressure!

Power!

He needed power strong enough to shake the cold logic of the universe! But this power, before Titan, was like an ant trying to move a mountain!

"Nolan!!"

Trigg's sharp mental cry, carrying the Viltrumite's unique cold ruthlessness when facing desperation, forcefully pierced into Mark's chaotic mind.

The Regent's face was stiff and pale like marble, but his deep eyes burned with the flames of frantic calculation under extreme pressure!

"Look at his eyes! Grayson! Look!!"

Mark's molten gold gaze suddenly focused!

Within the cage of energy light cords, Nolan Grayson, enduring endless pain and the infusion of pollution, had his eyeballs wildly rotating beneath his tightly closed eyelids.

His tough Viltrumite body convulsed violently under the erosion of dark tendrils, but each spasm seemed to carry a sense of... resistance!

Especially when the torrent of pollution from all corners of the universe poured in madly, his body's trembling reached its peak!

"He's resisting!"

Trigg's mental will was like a cold blade, cutting through despair.

"He's using his will! Using his Viltrum Warrior's instinct to resist the assimilation of pollution! This resistance... has caused a... slight delay in the pollution's influx! Extremely tiny! But it exists!"

Trigg's gaze was like a hawk's, locked onto the connection point between Nolan's body and the light cords, locked onto the surging torrent of pollution.

"This delay... is the only crack! Titan's optimal solution is not flawless! The instability of the container itself... is a variable! It is... an opportunity!"

An opportunity? What opportunity?

Mark's mind was muddled by despair and pressure.

But Trigg's next thought exploded like thunder.

"Attack those light cords! With all your might!"

"Just at the moment when the pollution torrent is most violent, use your power to strike that point of delay, let Nolan's resistance... erupt with even greater power! Let the pollution within him... completely lose control and backfire!"

Attack Titan's chains?

In the center of Titan's Sanctuary?

This was tantamount to suicide!

But Trigg's plan was insane and precise.

Utilize the delay in the pollution torrent caused by Nolan's own resistance, strike it violently with external force, amplify Nolan's pain and will to resist, thereby triggering a greater backlash of the Old Day pollution energy!

Use the power of the pollution itself to impact the container and traction system meticulously constructed by Titan!

"This is the only way to break the optimal solution's logical chain! Use the container's instability to shake their certainty!"

Trigg's mental will carried the desperation of a last resort.

"In Titan's logic, individuals are dust! They won't anticipate dust actively striking the gears! And they won't anticipate dust harboring a spark capable of igniting a pollution powder keg! Do you gamble, Grayson?!"

Mark's molten gold eyes instantly burned to their extreme!

The Viltrumite's resilience and the Kryptonian's Solar Energy perfectly merged at this moment!

No hesitation! No fear!

Only a mad decision for his father, for that one in a billion possibility!

"Target?!" Mark's mental roar locked onto Trigg.

"The seventh section of the light cord! The most turbulent point of the energy flow! It's... now!!!"

Trigg precisely reported the location, and at the same time, his body moved. His mountain-like physique erupted with the peak physical strength of a Viltrumite Regent, ignoring Titan's pressure, like an arrow shot from a bow, not rushing towards the light cords, but lunging towards a relatively weaker floating debris on the other side!

His goal was to create an opportunity for Mark, to attract a possible sliver of attention!

Mark's legs, like super springs compressed to their limit, exploded on the metal debris beneath him!

Boom!!!

The solid alloy platform instantly turned to dust!

His body transformed into a blue-black stream of light tearing through space, pure speed, pure power, disregarding spatial distance, ignoring Titan's pressure. All his will, all his life energy, all his anger and hope, converged on his right fist!

Target! The seventh section of the light cord binding Nolan's right arm!

That most violent node where the pollution torrent poured in!

"Father—wake up!!!"

Mark's soul roared silently!

His fist, imbued with the Viltrumite's unyielding resilience and the Kryptonian's sun-scorching power, like a gigantic hammer splitting heaven and earth, fiercely smashed towards the cold, condensed, divine light cord!

Just as Mark's fist was about to touch the light cord.

Within the light cord cage, Nolan Grayson, enduring endless pain, suddenly opened his eyes!

Those eyes were no longer purely murky darkness; in the deepest part of that madly eroding filth, a steel will belonging to Nolan Grayson himself, suppressed to the extreme, a father's and a warrior's will, erupted like an ignited star!

"Mark—!!!"

A distorted, painful, yet incomparably resolute and willful roar exploded directly in the depths of Mark's soul!

That was Nolan's voice, his father's last shred of consciousness before his awareness was completely swallowed, not a warning, but... a call!

With this soul's roar, Nolan's bound right arm muscles instantly swelled to their limit. The powerful Viltrumite physical strength, mixed with the suppressed Old Day pollution, formed a violent recoil force, fiercely striking the light cord node that was madly infusing pollution!

This force, and Mark's desperate punch, descending from the sky and gathering all his life energy, clashed at the same point, at the same instant.

Boom!!!!!!!!!!

An indescribable roar!

Not a physical explosion, but a terrifying collision on the energy and will level!

Mark's fist slammed hard on the light cord. The cold energy chain trembled violently, dazzling light flashed madly, and the recoil force erupting from Nolan's right arm fiercely countered the pollution torrent!

A torrent of Old Day pollution energy, far more violent, chaotic, and filled with pure malice and destructive aura than before, like a completely enraged cosmic beast, suddenly backfired uncontrollably from the light cord node struck by Mark!

This energy was not directed at Titan, but like a breached black flood, indiscriminately and wildly swept in all directions!

The first to bear the brunt were Mark, who was close by, and Trigg, who had just lunged to his designated position!

The aura of destruction rushed towards them! Mark had just unleashed a full-power strike and was in a state of absolute weakness, with his old strength spent and new strength not yet born! The uncontrolled pollution torrent, like the shadow of death, instantly engulfed him!

Just at this critical moment!

A figure cut in with incredible speed and angle!

It was Trigg!

He did not choose to protect himself, but just before the black torrent swallowed Mark, he used all his physical strength, skill, and experience to violently slam into Mark's side!

Bang!

A tremendous force violently knocked Mark off the central path of the pollution torrent!

"Pfft—!"

Trigg himself couldn't completely dodge. The edge of the black energy torrent, like billions of poisonous barbs, fiercely swept across his back!

On Trigg's incredibly strong Viltrumite body, his tough skin and muscles instantly became charred and festered as if corroded by strong acid!

He let out a muffled groan, his body trembled violently, a purple blood mist sprayed from his mouth, and he was violently flung away like a kite with a broken string!

Mark was knocked away by Trigg, narrowly avoiding the direct impact of the pollution torrent, but was grazed by the edge of the energy!

His blue-black battle suit emitted a harsh tearing sound, and large areas of scorch marks appeared on its surface!

A terrifying corrosive force seeped through the battle suit, causing him to feel a bone-chilling coldness and dizziness. He fell heavily onto a floating debris, his whole body aching, almost unable to move, only able to watch Trigg be heavily wounded and flung away!

However, their desperate strike was not in vain!

The section of the light cord binding Nolan's right arm, under the dual impact of Mark's desperate punch and Nolan's burst of will, instantly dimmed.

The energy field showed clear chaos and discontinuity, and the entire light cord cage flickered violently. The torrent of pollution madly pouring into Nolan's body, due to the destruction of this critical node, suddenly experienced a huge delay and disorder!

More importantly, the backfiring Old Day pollution within Nolan, which had been ignited, formed a powerful, chaotic, and disordered interference field, fiercely impacting the previously precise and orderly energy flow of the Titan Sanctuary!

The entire vast sea of energy, for the first time, showed clear, violent turbulence!

Countless cold, indifferent gazes once again focused on Mark, Trigg, and the violently flickering light cord cage.

This time, those gazes were no longer purely scrutinizing, but carried a hint of chaos that logic could not analyze, like a precise clock having a pebble roughly thrown into it.

A grand will descended again, still cold, but its smooth rhythm showed a clear hesitation for the first time.

"Low-level flesh-and-blood construct... unexpected behavior... direct physical impact on Order's Wedge structure... synergistic container will backfire... triggering traction field... seventeen point four three percent... turbulence... local order entropy value... nine thousandths above critical threshold..."

"Variable... generated... significant logical conflict..."

"Optimal solution program... logical chain... integrity... damaged..."

"Final purification program... forced pause... initiating deep logical... reconstruction calculation..."

As this will descended, the torrent of pollution madly pouring into Nolan's body abruptly ceased, and the condensed destructive pressure deep within the Sanctuary, like a fuse cut, stopped increasing.

Although the light cords binding Nolan still existed, their light dimmed considerably, and the cage's restraining force significantly weakened.

Nolan stopped twitching, his body still covered by dark tendrils, but his eyes were tightly closed, as if he had fallen into a deep coma or... a suppressed state.

Mark struggled to prop himself up, his molten gold eyes bloodshot, staring intently at his father, whose bindings had loosened and who had temporarily escaped the pollution torrent, and at the sea of energy that had fallen into logical reconstruction.

A glimmer of light, in the absolute abyss of despair, had been forcefully torn open by him and his father with flesh and blood and will!

But the cost was heavy.

Trigg floated nearby, his back charred and mangled, his life hanging by a thread.

Mark himself was also severely wounded.

They were completely exposed under Titan's gaze.

Pause did not equal cancellation, and the outcome of the calculation might push them and the universe more quickly towards destruction.

But, this paused countdown, this logical crack, was their only hope!

Mark gasped, looking at the vast, thinking sea of energy, the Viltrumite's resilience and the Kryptonian's indomitable spirit burning in his eyes.

The game in the abyss had entered a more dangerous, more unpredictable stage.

Under the paused countdown, it was the unyielding challenge of flesh and blood against divine logic.
