Chapter 63 - Chapter 63: The Quack Mona Requests to Join the Team

Jack somewhat regretted his impulsiveness that day.

He didn't know if sleeping with an idiot would have any side effects. After sighing, he gave Lumine a science lesson.

"The Leviathan is an amphibious creature. It's very slow on land, but in the sea, it can reach torpedo-like speeds. Although its strength isn't comparable to a dragon's, it's still a very fierce beast. Players can tame it through special methods."

"What!!"

Lumine grabbed Jack's shoulders, "It can be tamed! You didn't tell me something so important!"

"Who knew you'd swim dozens of kilometers out to sea to fish for a Leviathan? Let go of me!"

Lumine quickly let go of Jack, looking at him like a well-behaved child.

Jack cleared his throat and said, "First, you need to wait for a thunderstorm."

"Then, lure the Leviathan onto land, hold a piece of dried kelp, and every time it strikes you with lightning, you feed it once, repeating until it's tamed."

After listening, Lumine gave him a confused black-person-meme expression.

Trying to murder your beloved wife isn't done this way, is it?

"Believe it or not, but if you have dragon meat, the number of times you get struck should be fewer. You can try hunting a few dragons first."

"Okay, thanks, I'll consider it. Goodbye!"

Lumine didn't want to talk to this guy for another second.

If she could hunt dragons in Jack's world by herself, would she still be lusting after the Leviathan's body?

This stinky husband is just bad! She's ignoring him now.

"Oh my, she's gone."

Lisa covered her mouth, chuckling.

No matter when she watched them, these two always had the potential to be comedians. Their conversations always made people feel happy.

"This Lumine is too much. I really want to return her."

Jack felt less like he had a girlfriend and more like he had adopted a mischievous younger sister.

No wonder Brother Aether kept being a riddle-man and wouldn't play with her.

Acting with her probably increased the probability of accidents by at least 1000%.

...

At the gates of Mondstadt City.

Jack said his final goodbyes to Lisa.

"Alright, this is far enough."

"My dear, are you really not staying until tomorrow to depart?"

"No, occasionally spending a night in the wilderness is also a good experience, and besides, I still have my Serenitea Pot."

Lisa stepped forward and straightened his collar.

"Then I'll wait for you to come back."

"Alright, wait for me."

After a parting kiss, Lisa gently pushed Jack away, gazing deeply at his retreating figure.

Go continue your legendary path, my dear.

Unlike a witch, you should walk in the sunlight and receive praise from all.

On the wide official road,

the sword-wielding youth walked step by step into the distance, as if a dragon adventure hero had stepped out of an ancient poem.

...

Not far from Mondstadt, Jack arrived at the nearest teleport waypoint in the wilderness.

He placed his hand on the teleport waypoint, and with a flash of blue light, he activated this waypoint that he had missed when he rushed into the city.

Jack felt the surging power of the ley lines on it, and several currently activated points appeared in his mind.

That Teyvat had teleport waypoints was something known to the high-ranking officials of various nations.

However, this convenient device was rarely used by anyone.

The only ones who could use it were Jack, Traveler, and Paimon.

Teyvat natives like Keqing and Lisa could not use it.

His MC World waypoint also couldn't be used because the ownership in Teyvat wasn't his.

The two worlds were, after all, different worlds, and their underlying logic was not quite the same.

The idea of using the Serenitea Pot's ability to bring people along to exploit a bug and have Traveler help him activate waypoints was also rejected by both of them.

Originally, Traveler had almost activated all the waypoints in the four nations.

However, due to Jack's "dimensional reduction," and the peculiar quantum superposition relationship between players and Traveler, the previously activated waypoint records required both of them to record simultaneously to be usable.

In gaming terms, it meant that Traveler was the main account, and Jack had opened a new one.

Traveler was now playing online in Jack's world, and even though she had waypoint records herself, she couldn't use them until Jack activated them.

As of now, Jack had only activated the waypoints from Windwail Highland to Mondstadt, and the lazy Traveler didn't want to retrace her steps across Teyvat.

Therefore, for this Dragonspine Mountain operation, Jack could only embark on the journey alone.

...

An hour later, by a cliff somewhere,

a young woman in a blue bodysuit sat gracefully on a boulder, seemingly waiting for someone.

Seeing the young woman's deliberately mysterious demeanor, Jack felt playful and took a detour, walking towards the other end of the cliff.

"Destiny leads us… Oh, Traveler, you're going the wrong way!"

Mona frantically ran down from the boulder and chased after Jack.

Her expression was somewhat gloomy after failing to act cool: "Darn Traveler, deliberately ignoring me and making a fool of me, you're really too mean."

"Hey, Miss Mona, don't make false accusations, alright? I'm going to Dragonspine Mountain on this trip, and it's not like there's only one path ahead. Why do you care which way I go?"

"Are you looking down on a Water Seer? I calculated that you would take this path to Dragonspine Mountain."

Jack looked down, deep in thought: "Hmm, it doesn't seem very big indeed."

Mona was stunned for a moment, then covered her chest in shame and indignation.

"You, is there nothing but dirty jokes in your head?"

"It's okay, Mona, you're still young. You'll grow in the future. Maybe you'll even turn into an 1.8-meter tall, gray-haired Sister Expensive and go explore the universe~"

"An absurd height like 1.8 meters is one thing! Why did even my hair color change?! And what is exploring the universe?!"

Mona's twin ponytails whipped like long whips towards Jack's face.

Jack didn't dodge. With his thick skin, he wasn't afraid of these attacks.

After venting her anger, Mona said, "You're going to investigate the anomaly in Dragonspine Mountain, right? I'll go with you."

"That's right, but what's the reason?"

Jack looked at Mona's character interface.

Her friendship level was indeed 10.

But that wasn't a reason for him to blindly trust a character; at least he needed to know what her purpose was.

"Water Seer guided me to find you."

Mona turned her head away, her neck a little red.

"Who understands what you're talking about? I'm not a Water Seer, oh right, at least not yet."

Jack thought of the Starshine Magic in the MC World dragon adventure mod, but he didn't speak too definitively.

After all, the revised Starshine Magic was truly amazing, directly adding resistance and damage, and it was percentage-based, truly having a beauty of strength.

Wait!

Mona, Water Seer, Starshine Magic?

Jack looked at Mona, who was currently searching for words in her mind to join the team, and suddenly had an urge to abduct her to the MC World and lock her up to research Starshine Magic.

Mona also noticed.

Sensing the possessiveness in Jack's eyes, she involuntarily took a step back.

"No, that's not right! The day of suffering I divined wasn't today, could it be wrong? Impossible!"

"Day of suffering, what do you mean?"

Jack patted his head, returning to his normal self.

"N-nothing!!"

Mona's twin ponytails shook like a rattle drum.

"So suspicious."

Jack looked at her suspiciously, then said, "Have you made up a reason?"

"Made up... No! You're the one making up reasons, I came because I calculated that Traveler needed help, alright?!"

"Is that so? Then tell me, what do I need your help with?"

Seeing that Jack was finally willing to listen to her, Mona began to display her professional talent.

"You want to go to Dragonspine Mountain to investigate the anomaly, right? But do you know where the anomaly occurred? Or even, Mondstadt is so big, do you intend to rely on traditional map guidance to go to Dragonspine Mountain?"

"By the time you arrive, the Adventurers' Guild members would have been killed off by the anomalous monsters one after another."

Jack frowned: "I do have a map from the Adventurers' Guild here. Logically speaking, going this way should be fine, right?"

Mona glanced at the yellowed parchment: "That kind of map is long outdated, Traveler. Now, you should abandon all inferior man-made products in the world and instead trust the great Water Seer, Astrologos Mona Megistus."

"I believe that under my guidance, you will have a correct and convenient adventure journey!"
