Chapter 6 - breaking point

Damn… I bled too much.

I stand with difficulty, slowly walking towards the door, searching for something to stop the bleeding… or something to stop my life.

I fall to the ground.

My vision blurs… I see nothing, just darkness.

My faith was a lie.

No one ever cared about me.

Even my hope… was just an illusion.

"I hate you… I hate my weakness…"

My tears fall, the last drops of my life.

I've spent my life trying to become something… something worth remembering.

I wanted to change the world… to make it peaceful…

to see my mother smile… and Mary too…

"Jack… my mother… Mary… my friend Jack… I'm sorry.

I sacrificed your lives for someone as weak as me."

"I'm not even a human.

I was just a puppet in the hands of kings.

I was never free. My life wasn't my own."

My voice trails off, but suddenly… something moves.

A whisper within my soul, a cry rising from the depths of my being:

"If I had another life...

I wouldn't live as a human again.

Just give me one more chance!"

"I want a second chance!"

"I'll become stronger...stronger than I was.

This time...I won't let anyone define me."

I raise my hands toward the moon, the rain falling heavily.

I ask in a weak voice:

"Is killing...right?

Is revenge...justice?"

I imagine bliss, even for one day...

I can't accept this ending...

Will I go to hell?

I wish my sins would bear the price of my family's mistakes...

To compensate them for my weakness...for my helplessness...

I'm tired...I want to go to sleep...an eternal sleep...

But this sleep...death...comes to me as I fall, in front of my friend.
