Chapter 10 - "Birth of Darkness: When Hell Smiles

I sat at the table, darkness curling around me as if swallowing my breath.

Only one question was in my mind:

> "Why me?"

But with the silence… the memory began to bleed.

A face emerged from the smoke… a face I knew well.

Rowen.

My childhood neighbor… the man I once considered an older brother.

I opened our home's door for him, he shared our food, laughed with us as if he was family.

I loved him… I trusted him.

But behind that smile… he was hiding poison.

> "If you didn't care… then why was my family part of it? All this… for what?"

The reason I wanted to live for… was lost.

My body tired… my soul broken.

For what do I live? For whom do I fight?

Wait… if I came back to life, isn't there still a reason… for them?

Then a thought touched me, impossible, yet my heart clung to it:

> "Maybe I can… bring them back.

Only if I dive deeper into discovering my power… or its nature."

The place went silent again. Silence pressed on my breath… until reality returned.

A sharp voice rose behind me:

— "Sir… please, leave this place."

I turned my head slowly, answering coldly:

— "My name is Kim."

— "Alright Kim, you—"

I cut him with a sharp tone:

— "Did the waiter tell you I behaved improperly?"

— "Security told me… yes. And if you don't leave… I'll do some bad things to you."

I smiled.

The men behind him laughed mockingly, while the guard placed his heavy hand on my shoulder, pressing hard.

I looked at his hand… then at his eyes.

I told him coldly:

> "I smiled to reassure you… but my heart writes your fate in blood."

He was trying to provoke a fight… but I slowly lifted my eyes toward him.

I raised my hand and grabbed his wrist, squeezing until I felt his body tremble.

I spoke with a calm voice, yet sharp as a blade:

> "One mistake from you… and it will be the last thing you ever remember."

Then… my features changed.

My left eye began to darken gradually… thick shadows leaked out as if it was a gate to hell.

The man froze in place. His body shook, his hands pulled back without control.

A cold smile stretched across my lips, and I whispered to him:

> "The more you stare into it… the closer your end comes."

He stepped back, and the faces of his companions turned from mockery to shock.

And me… I realized only one thing:

The darkness inside me was no longer just a nightmare… it had become a weapon.

A suffocating silence spread…

Their eyes froze on me, their faces pale, as if they were staring at something not human.

Their hands trembled, none dared to move… even their breaths grew heavy.

I smiled coldly, my dark eye glowing in the gloom:

> "Why do you tremble?… You haven't seen anything yet."
