Chapter 15 - Is She Plotting Something?

Michael and Chihiro had arrived in front of the store.

Then a woman approached them.

She was carrying a stack of promotional papers.

The woman handed them a leaflet written in Japanese.

"Sir and Madam, are you interested?"

Michael turned toward the woman.

The woman was wearing a maid costume dominated by black and pink, with her hair in twin braids, complete with head accessories, a short skirt, and Mary Jane heels.

It was a perfectly fitting look for a beautiful Maid cosplayer.

Then the woman continued her explanation.

"Sir and Madam, you look exhausted. How about visiting our book café? We are currently holding an exciting event with affordable discounts."

"Are Sir and Madam interested?"

Chihiro looked at her, took the paper, then read it.

Chihiro handed the promotional paper back.

"Sister Maid, could you escort us?"

Chihiro smiled from behind the fabric covering her face.

"Oh, thank you, Madam, it seems you're interested! In that case, please follow me. Oh, and excuse me, my name is Sayaka. I am a Maid."

Sayaka bowed her head while posing gracefully, giving a formal, almost medieval, maid's salute.

Michael, seeing this, asked her.

"Your name is Sayaka, nice to meet you. How about we head straight to your café?"

"Very well, Sir and Madam, please follow me."

Michael and Chihiro walked, following Sayaka, the maid cosplayer, toward the east.

Upon arriving, Sayaka led them up the stairs to the second floor.

Sayaka opened the door and bowed again.

"Please come in, Sir and Madam. I hope you enjoy your stay with us. Don't forget to give us your opinion about our café after your visit. Thank you!"

Michael and Chihiro entered.

The door was closed gently from the outside.

Sayaka smiled faintly, immediately turned around, and descended the stairs to continue her promotional duties on the street.

The café room was bustling, lined with tall bookshelves.

There were many kinds of comics, novels, and other fictional books.

Then a welcome came from a man cosplaying as a butler.

He wore a neat suit, his hair slicked back, and a flower tucked into his front pocket.

He bowed in greeting.

"Welcome, Sir and Madam, are you tired? Allow me to escort you to your seats."

The man smiled brightly, giving a proper welcome.

The man then escorted them near a clear window that displayed the busy and beautiful view of Akihabara city.

The man offered them orders from the menu book he was holding.

"Sir and Madam, what order will you enjoy today? I hope Sir and Madam enjoy the food and drinks we serve."

The man stood beside Michael, closed his eyes, and smiled.

His right hand was in front of his stomach and his left hand was behind his back, like a high-class butler.

Michael, seeing this, felt like an important person, although he was often respected by his subordinates.

He was pleased when something unfamiliar showed him such profound respect.

Michael liked it.

Then Michael and Chihiro opened the menu book.

"Brother Butler, I'd like to order a medium portion of a sandwich and cake, and for the drink, hmm... a vanilla chocolate blueberry parfait."

Hearing Michael order this, Chihiro wanted to order the same as her husband.

"I'll have the same, Brother Butler, and add a little lime to the ice cream."

The butler nodded and took the menu book.

"Very well, Sir and Madam, please wait a moment."

When the butler turned around, Michael stopped him, asking a question.

"Excuse me, may I read a book? And which book is the most popular read in this café? I'm quite confused, surely you know what's good."

Then the butler turned back.

"I apologize, it seems this is your first time visiting a book café. Please forgive my mistake."

Michael, seeing this, felt bad.

"Don't apologize, I just haven't been here before."

The man stood straight.

"Usually, people directly browse and take books from the shelves before reading. As for the most popular book, I recommend something that would be interesting for you."

"Yes, I'd like to read it. How about you bring it when our order arrives? I'll be waiting, hehe."

Michael raised his right hand casually.

"Very well, Sir, I will prepare it quickly."

Then the man turned toward the kitchen.

Michael, waiting for his order, looked at the view of Akihabara through the window.

Michael smiled contentedly, as if he carried no burdens at all.

Chihiro gazed at Michael, who looked so comfortable.

She blushed shyly, as if looking at a prince.

Michael's face was youthful, without a mustache or beard, with his hair slicked back, making him look masculine.

Although Michael was 45 years old, he looked about 25.

Chihiro's heart pounded fast, like first love, even after being forced to marry him.

Chihiro's age was relatively young.

When they married, she was 16 years old, as her country did not prohibit marriage under 18.

Michael didn't know Chihiro was so young when he forced her, and only found out after they were married.

But for Chihiro, it didn't matter, because Michael was the man who took responsibility for her, even though Michael was often tempted or tempted other women.

Chihiro was satisfied with her daily life, and that's when love grew over time spent with Michael, until they had a son.

Chihiro's real name was Amelia Rosgard, and she now used a pseudonym to protect herself while visiting Japan.

Chihiro smiled shyly, resting her head on her hand, looking at Michael.

Michael, feeling her gaze, turned his head.

"Honey, what's wrong? I feel like you've been staring at me for a while. Is something on my face?"

Michael's deep yet gentle voice made Chihiro flustered.

"N-Nothing, darling, hehe. I just feel like you're the man I've always dreamed of since childhood."

Chihiro tried to hold Michael's right hand that was on the table, as if she didn't want to lose him.

Michael grasped it, gently stroking the back of Chihiro's small hand.

"Relax, honey, I'm not going anywhere. I'll always be with you, even if we rarely meet because of business."

Michael smiled broadly, closing his eyes.

His white teeth were highlighted by the light reflecting off the window, mesmerizing Chihiro a second time.

Chihiro was surprised.

The happiness she hadn't felt in a long time was now back when she was with him.

Tears welled up in Chihiro's eyes, not from sadness, but from the realization that her husband was like a hundred men rolled into one.

Then a thought flashed in Chihiro's heart, remembering their past.

...

Why did Michael once kidnap Chihiro in a cafe after fighting with other gangsters?

Because Chihiro, whose real name was Amelia Rosgard, was the daughter of a famous figure in that city.

Her family was the Rosgard Mafia.

Michael carried out the kidnapping on the orders of his boss.

At that time, he was still a subordinate gangster member of a rival Mafia family fiercely competing with the Rosgard family, and his mission was to kidnap, then kill Amelia.

However, Michael changed his mind.

When Michael saw Amelia, he was captivated.

Her beauty, combined with her seemingly innocent nature yet not flinching at all when witnessing Michael fight the gangster guarding her, astonished Michael.

Michael fell in love.

He kidnapped her, took her away from the assassination mission concerning her, and fled to another country with his six closest friends.

Michael struggled intensely to protect her at that time. Battles occurred repeatedly, and that's when Michael realized: he had to create his own power.

That idea was to establish his own Mafia organization with his friends.

Now, Michael's Organization had prospered and was well-known in his country.

Michael was known and respected.

That's when he earned the nickname, The Golden Dragon.

Why did he receive that nickname? Because Michael himself did not commit heinous acts, and he leaned more toward justice.

When he felt provoked, that's when the roar of the Golden Dragon came out.

Besides that, high-ranking people in his country really liked Michael's hard work in successfully stabilizing the economy from within.

The thing most liked about Michael was: he did not circulate narcotics to teenagers.

Michael chose clients whom he guaranteed were adults and established to be his loyal customers.

To this day, Michael's Organization operates globally, though not openly.

...

'Hehe, it seems I feel like doing it again like last night.'

'I feel like being embraced by him until morning and never wanting to be separated.'

Michael, seeing the change in Chihiro's eyes, felt a shiver run through him for a moment.

'W-What is she thinking now?'

Michael laughed to cover it up, letting go of her hand and changing the subject.

"Honey, look over there, there's a handsome prince cosplayer! Lots of photographers are trying to take his picture."

The cosplayer was clad in an elegant robe dominated by blue, white, gold, and red.

He wore a small crown set with sparkling beads and carried a short staff.

With his handsome face, he looked exactly like a prince.

Michael's index finger pointed toward the crowd behind the clear window on the second floor he was occupying, not far from him.
