Chapter 87 - The Smart And The Stupid

Dydra stepped out of the Crown Prince's chamber with her shoulders slightly lighter than when she had entered. A small breath escaped her as she walked down the corridor, more to steady herself than from relief.

"I'll just have to keep trying," she muttered quietly.

She disappeared around the corner, unaware of the familiar pair of brown eyes watching her retreat. After she was gone, the observer moved through the corridors with cautious familiarity and stopped in front of Princess Niaya's door. A brief hesitation passed before a knock sounded against the wood.

"Princess Niaya, it's m—"

"I need information, not your introduction," Niaya's voice cut sharply from inside the room.

"Yes, Princess. She has been in the Crown Prince's chamber," the spy replied, her voice trembling despite her attempt to remain composed.

The door opened abruptly, and a sharp slap struck her across the face before she could react. Pain burst along her cheek, forcing her head to the side.
