Alpha Maxwell felt something was wrong. He quickly returned to the room only to find the curtain devoured by flames.
His chest seized with horror and fear for the safety of his son and Deborah. He quickly grabbed the curtain and ripped it from the wall at lightning speed and ran to the bathroom, throwing the curtain onto the floor and opening the shower, immediately putting the fire out.
He left the bathroom and opened the window, allowing fresh air into the room, pushing the smoke out of the room.
After everything was over, he looked at Deborah sleeping on the bed. "Wake up!" he said, trying to rouse her from her sleep.
Deborah reluctantly opened her eyes and asked, "Hubby, you're back. What's wrong? Why did you wake me up?" Her brows drew together in confusion, feigning innocence.
"Don't tell me that the candle started the fire without your participation? You started the fire didn't you?" he accused her blatantly.
