Dane's POV
They all stare at me like they've seen a ghost. Daniel sits beside me, calm as ever, his voice steady as he begins, "Dane, she's my mother, Serena Hale, and he's my father, Alexander Hale."
I look at them—really look—as if it's the first time I've ever seen their faces. Then Daniel gestures toward the couple across the table. "She's my sister, Diana Hale, and he's her husband, Kyle Auralis."
My eyes freeze on Kyle. Her husband.
And she's pregnant.
A bitter laugh almost escapes me. That bastard—he married Diana, yet he once kidnapped me and dared to say he loved me? My jaw tightens, anger burning in my chest as I glare at him. Kyle quickly looks away, his eyes guilty, his body stiff.
Serena Hale's sharp voice cuts through the room like a blade. "Daniel, what the hell is this?"
I glance at Daniel, pretending innocence. He smiles faintly and says, "What, Mom? I'm just introducing my family to my lover."
The room goes silent.
