Chapter 43 - Chapter 39: Training Arc

The Rise of the God of Death

Chapter 39: Training Arc

As they soared across the skies, Daimon suddenly slowed his flight and said calmly,

"Here we are."

Daren looked around, confused. "Okay… but—"

Before he could finish, Daimon abruptly shot higher into the heavens.

"Wait, what?!" Daren shouted, startled.

"Is there a problem?" Daimon asked without even glancing back.

Daren swallowed his nerves and forced a grin. "N-no, nothing at all…" though his mind was swirling with confusion.

After a long climb, the sky above began to crackle. Thunder rolled like a beast's growl, and before them appeared a vast sky bastion, an island suspended in the clouds, wrapped in endless storms of lightning. Bolts danced across its surface, striking towers, cliffs, and the ground itself in a violent rhythm.

Daren's eyes widened in awe. "This… this place…"

Daimon smirked faintly. "Welcome to my old home."

They descended onto the floating isle. To Daren's surprise, it was desolate, its once-grand halls and training fields silent. Not a single soul could be felt.

"Why is it empty?" Daren asked, his voice echoing through the storm.

Daimon walked ahead, his aura steady, his eyes scanning the ruins. "Because after I left, there was no one capable of controlling it."

They pressed forward until they reached a massive altar at the very heart of the island. The platform pulsed faintly with ancient lightning runes, still alive but dormant. Daimon lifted his hand to halt Daren.

"Step back."

Daren obeyed, retreating as Daimon strode into the center of the altar. With a single motion, Daimon raised his arm high. Instantly, scarlet lightning burst from his body, tearing through the skies like raging serpents. The island trembled, storms surged, and the very heavens roared at his command.

After moments of pure chaos, Daimon lowered his hand. The rampaging lightning across the isle stilled, and silence fell once more. He turned to Daren, his crimson gaze sharp.

"Now," Daimon said. "Are you ready to train?"

Daren clenched his fists, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Yes… please!"
