The Rise of the God of Death
Chapter 40: New Generation
The scene opens…
Deep within the void beneath the Supreme Chamber, the Second Seal began to stir. Its power leaked faintly into the abyss, but it was not fully open. The Supreme Being, sitting in his throne of eternity, did not notice this disturbance.
The reason was clear—Daimon had yet to obtain the special item tied to the Second Seal. Without it, the lock could not completely break. That item was none other than the Supreme-Level Heavenly Cursed Sword—Daimon's destined weapon… one of only two Supreme-level equipment in existence.

- Five Years Later -
Within the Spiritual Forest, the birthplace of the Natural Elements, a lone figure ran swiftly between the trees, his black cloak fluttering behind him.
It was Daren.
Breathing heavily, he muttered to himself:
"How long do I have to wander this forest? I told him these things are rare to find…"
His eyes sharpened as the ground trembled. A massive beast revealed itself—scales hard as stone, eyes glowing like molten lava.
The Ground Dragon.
A rare dragon species, bound to the earth, unable to fly but feared for its monstrous power.
Daren didn't hesitate. He launched an attack, lightning sparking in his hand, purposely provoking the dragon.
The beast roared, its voice shaking the forest, then charged straight at him.
At the last second, Daren leapt into the air, a spear of lightning forming in his grip. With a sharp throw, he hurled it at the dragon's neck.
But the Ground Dragon was no ordinary prey—it raised an Aura Shield, blocking the strike. Its colossal tail swung like a whip, striking Daren midair and sending him crashing into the dirt.
Pinned against a rock wall, he groaned as the dragon's jaws lit with fire, preparing to unleash a devastating flame.
But before it struck, the earth itself rose. A massive stone wall surged upward, blocking the breath of fire.
A shimmering water bubble enveloped Daren, closing his wounds.
Two figures dashed to his side—Nil and Lucy.
Nil quickly pulled Daren up.
"Hide! You're in no state to fight!"
But Daren shook his head, his eyes burning with resolve.
"No… I came here to hunt him, not to run away."
He clenched his fists and smirked faintly.
"Sorry for such a rough reunion… but let's finish this together."
Lucy frowned.
"But how do we kill something like this?"
Daren's voice sharpened.
"I have a plan. Lucy—you distract him. Nil, follow me."
---
As the battle resumed, Lucy leapt into action. She unleashed a torrent of water, keeping her distance while forcing the dragon's attention onto her. The beast lunged forward, swiping with claws the size of boulders. She barely dodged, rolling aside.
Her eyes glowed as she roared:
"Dragon of the Sea!"
Behind her, a colossal sea dragon formed from endless waves. It surged forward, slamming into the Ground Dragon and sending it staggering into a corner.
At that moment, Daren and Nil descended from above.
"NOW!" Daren shouted.
Nil raised his hands, summoning towering earth walls that closed in around the dragon, trapping it from every side—except the sky above.
Lightning sparked wildly across Daren's body. His hand rose to the heavens as his aura surged. A massive bolt condensed into the form of a spear.
"Lightning Strike!"
He plummeted from above like a thunder god, driving the lightning spear into the dragon's skull.
A blinding flash tore through the forest.
When the light faded, the dragon's colossal body lay motionless on the ground, smoke rising from its charred scales.
The Ground Dragon was dead.
