Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 Strange Leaflet

Level 2

Leon, holding a smith & wesson m500 in one hand and a torch in the other, sped through a corridor filled with pipes.

He had now lost his initial interest in the pipes.

The main reason was that he had discovered something more valuable than pipes.

Level 2 contained many handheld industrial tools scattered throughout various halls and rooms.

Handcarts were a common sight among these, often carrying scattered mechanical parts, oil drums, metal, cardboard, and wooden crates frequently filled with raw materials.

Among these items were many metal materials he needed.

Soon, a white wooden door appeared on the wall of the dark corridor ahead; compared to the surrounding charred black walls, the white wooden door seemed so clean.

"Still locked? Who are they defending against?"

Sticking the torch, which defied gravity and environment, onto the wall, Leon took out an iron axe from his backpack and chopped at the wooden door.

There were many such wooden doors in Level 2, but locked wooden doors simply couldn't be opened by conventional means.

But today, it encountered Leon.

Under the axe's blows, the wooden door quickly developed cracks.

Thump, thump, thump…

Bang. The locked wooden door transformed into a miniature shape and flew into his body.

The room inside was not large, probably about twenty square meters, with many shelves standing against the walls, displaying various messy tools and some boxes.

Leon directly ignored the small tools; these things didn't even have 1 energy value, but the shelves and some large tools were acceptable.

He walked into the room, opened a cardboard box, and threw its contents into his backpack.

Hydrogen Cyanide almond water

Flashlight

Leon looked at the Hydrogen Cyanide almond water, whose packaging was identical to regular gray almond water, and a look of surprise appeared on his face: "Even the supplies spawned here have this kind of scam?"

Fortunately, most items would display corresponding information when he threw them into his backpack.

It's important to know that the lethal dose of oral hydrogen cyanide is 0.7-3.5 mg/kg.

If he hadn't received the information and accidentally gave it to Eric, it would mean that just one drop in this bottle of almond water could make Eric painfully leave this world.

"This is really dark, they just don't want Wanderers to live. No wonder almond water needs to be heated before it can be used."

Leon grumbled, but he still put this somewhat special almond water into his backpack.

Then he took out the moth jelly.

moth jelly can be found on any floor where Death Moths gather. Although rare, moth jelly in bottles and jars is ubiquitous, even in places where Death Moths cannot be found.

Death Moths also exist in Level 2, but their numbers are extremely small. Death Moths are phototactic creatures; they like to stay in well-lit places.

The Abandoned Public Zone had previously experienced a major power outage, which led to a significant decrease in the number of Death Moths, but a drastic increase in the number of Smiles.

moth jelly is highly nutritious, rich in protein, nutrients, and natural sugars, allowing consumers to stay full for longer and significantly boosting physical strength, energy, and stamina.

Furthermore, it has an interesting side effect: it attracts male Death Moths and makes them firmly protect the person who consumed the moth jelly, while causing females to completely ignore them, until about five minutes after consumption, when the effect wears off.

Using this method, one can obtain more moth jelly from female Death Moths, truly a bug-exploiting artifact.

He stuffed all valuable items in the room into his backpack; those that could be exchanged for energy value were exchanged, and those that could be refined into ingots were thrown into the Iron backpack, prioritizing no waste.

Just as he was about to turn and leave, a piece of paper on the red brick wall caught his attention.

The main reason was that this paper was both new and clean, appearing out of place compared to the wall. Walking closer, Leon clearly saw the text on it.

Adventure? Everywhere! Speed? Pursue the limit! Immortality? As long as you wish… Frontrooms? No longer important! Backrooms? The place where dreams come true!

Welcome to our Speedrunning Players Association!

Registration locations: Level 1, Level 4, Level 11, Level 48, Level C-34…

As long as you register, we will issue a temporary speedrunning terminal.

How to officially join? As long as you're fast enough! You'll know naturally!!!

Leon: "…"

"Damn, how are even these lunatics here?!"

In Leon's opinion, the Speedrunning Players Association was a group of mentally unstable people who pursued cutting through various levels within the Backrooms.

Their slogan was: No fastest, only faster.

Although mentally unstable, they were genuinely happy!

However, the Speedrunning Players Association was a C-level organization in the Backrooms, and now a flyer appeared before him, which indicated that the Backrooms he was in was even more chaotic.

He tore the flyer from the wall and threw it into his backpack; perhaps he would encounter these interesting guys someday.

He exited the empty room and continued to sprint through Level 2, not at all worried that his movements would attract Entities in the dark.

As he rounded a corner, a glimmer of light appeared in his vision.

"Did I run out of the blackout zone?"

Before he could even get excited, a shadow suddenly darted out from the darkness, accompanied by strange cries.

In a hurry, Leon raised the smith & wesson m500 in his hand and pulled the trigger. Bang… A loud gunshot rang out, and the pouncing figure immediately let out a wailing sound.

By the light of the torch, Leon also clearly saw the appearance of the attacker.

Entity No. 8 Hound

Hounds are humanoid creatures with strange physiological characteristics; they have arms and legs designed for quadrupedal movement. These Entities are highly aggressive; they will become enraged upon sighting someone under stress, but they can be scared away through direct eye contact.

They have sharp claws and large oral organs full of sharp teeth, though they are not very clear due to being obscured by black fur.

"I ran too fast, I forgot to check the minimap!"

Leon again raised the smith & wesson m500 in his hand, aimed at the Hound's human-like head, and pulled the trigger.

Accompanied by another loud gunshot, damage numbers appeared on the Hound's body.

-14

Hound 3/31

Seeing only three health points remaining, Leon mercilessly pulled the trigger again.

At this moment, a whimpering sound echoed from the dark passage, and many Hounds ran out from the darkness.

He stuck the torch into the wall.

Leon looked at the Hounds adopting attacking stances, a Smile appearing on his face, and took out bullets from his backpack, loading them one by one into the cylinder.

Then, with a gentle flick of his hand, the revolver made a mechanical rotating sound.

"Come on, little dogs!"
