"What about me? Won't they ask what I got you?" I stood up from the couch and turned to him.
Alpha Kane sat up straight. "What about you?"
"You need to get a gift from me too, otherwise they'll think I'm just a gold digger." I knew how it worked among humans. Women who only took were considered as such and were not respected, and I did not want people to think that of me.
The corners of his lips lifted teasingly.
"You?" Alpha Kane asked shamelessly, causing my nostrils to flare.
'This was another of his tests, watching carefully to see if you would flare up or remain calm.' Nova amused.
"I guess you'll never know, it's just an act." I squared my shoulders, watching his reaction, tapping my foot on the floor.
Alpha Kane shook his head mockingly, his perfect hair moving in time, and snorted before saying,
"Just to be clear, I don't mind, as long as they're good in bed."
